In 2010, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) voted to appropriate the sale of mining company Uranium One, to Russia’s nuclear agency, Rosatom, thus handing 20 percent of US uranium supply to Russia. Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on CFIUS when the committee unanimously approved the Uranium One deal. Information has recently surfaced showing that Russian officials routed millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation prior to the the Uranium One deal. Of course, there is a whole lot more to this sticky situation. As Glenn says, by way of introduction in the video above,...

Full Header: 'Environmental Crusader' Arnold Schwarzenegger Warns: 'Fossil Fuels Will Kill Us'—after Arriving in a Suburban SUV Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Calif.) warned young people that “fossil fuels will kill us” if the U.S. doesn’t switch to renewable energy. The Terminator actor said millions of people die each year because of pollution. “So, therefore, it’s very important for you to get involved to fight and to get rid of fossil fuels because fossil fuels will kill us and fossil fuels will create global climate change. Now I’ve studied this issue very well. It’s another issue I didn’t know much about...

Democrat Senator Ron Wydon (D-OR) ripped CNN contributor and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper on Wednesday for continuing to lie about his famous lie to the American public. In March 2013 Director of National Intelligence James Clapper went before the US Senate and lied about government spying. Senator Ron Wydon asked Clapper if the NSA collects any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans? Director Clapper replied, “No, sir … not wittingly.” This was a lie. Clapper was never condemned or punished for lying under oath to the US Senate. This more...

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) on Wednesday slammed former National Intelligence Director James Clapper for claiming he did not purposely lie to Congress when asked about an NSA mass surveillance program in March 2013, saying he sent the longtime intelligence official the question ahead of the hearing. “James Clapper needs to stop making excuses for lying to the American people about mass surveillance. To be clear: I sent him the question in advance. I asked him to correct the record afterward. He chose to let the lie stand,” the Oregon Democrat responded to Clapper’s excuse in a tweet.

Some lawmakers would like to see the Justice Department prosecute former spy chief James Clapper for inaccurate testimony to Congress about domestic surveillance before it's too late. Privacy-conscious critics say looming five-year statutes of limitation for perjury and making false statements — establishing a March 12 deadline for charges — make an urgent case for action, and that nonprosecution would set a dangerous precedent that impedes oversight and executive-branch accountability. Clapper, director of national intelligence from 2010 to 2017, testified during a March 2013 Senate Intelligence Committee hearing that the NSA was "not wittingly” collecting “any type of data at...

Former Attorney General Eric Holder asked an MSNBC audience, "I hear these things about 'let’s make America great again' and I think to myself, 'exactly when did you think America was great?'" Holder went on to parrot progressive gripes about America: "It certainly wasn’t when people were enslaved. It certainly wasn’t when women didn’t have the right to vote. It certainly wasn’t when the LGBT community was denied the rights to which it was entitled." When Holder served as Attorney General, he was found in criminal contempt of Congress . While Holder's dismissal of American greatness might seem surprising to...

A leftover from last night via the Free Beacon. This is Democrats’ 2020 message in microcosm, no? Three years ago their riposte to Trump was “America Is Already Great,†a decent enough slogan for liberals invested in Obama’s presidency but an uneasy fit for progressives. A movement dedicated to social justice can’t acknowledge American greatness; to do so would risk encouraging complacency. Progress can only be achieved by relitigating America’s sins unto eternity. With the party having moved left and past Obama, Holder’s free to make that point more explicitly. He’s enough of a neoliberal himself to pull his punches...

President Trump will face an obstruction of justice charge from special counsel Robert Mueller, former Attorney General Eric Holder predicted. “You technically have an obstruction of justice case that already exists,” Holder, who served under then-President Obama, said on HBO’s "Real Time with Bill Maher." "I've known Bob Mueller for 20, 30 years; my guess is he's just trying to make the case as good as he possibly can. So, I think that we have to be patient in that regard.” Trump’s critics have speculated about an obstruction charge ever since he fired FBI Director James Comey in the midst...

Former Attorney General Eric Holder has suggested to his fellow Democrats that one way to put their stamp on American history, especially in light of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's and President Trump's agenda, is to expand the Supreme Court. He made the farfetched proposal last week at Yale Law School and Columbia University. "Given the Merrick Garland situation, the question of legitimacy is one that I think we should actually talk about," Holder said. "We should be talking even about expanding the number of people who serve on the Supreme Court, if there is a Democratic President and a...

One of the fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives is how both view the Constitution. Conservatives believe that adhering to constitutional principles. if not the letter and spirit of the document, should be the guiding force of government. Liberals, on the other hand, see the Constitution as an impediment - something to be gotten around. Keep that difference in mind when you hear what former Attorney General Eric Holder had to say about the Supreme Court. Daily Beast: Former Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that the next Democratic president should “seriously†consider adding additional seats to the United...
