An intoxicated Florida man chugged two beers in less than 30 seconds at the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. It would not take long for the rest of his visit to Disney World to unravel. Chase Holderby sounded friendly at first as he offered handshakes and high-fives to everyone in line at one of the stands in EPCOT on September 10, according to a newly released Orange County Sheriff’s report. The 30-year-old Merritt Island man had already caught the attention of authorities because he appeared to be intoxicated. He was “stumbling, being excessively loud, swearing, and appearing unsteady on...

One Reddit poster took to the platform to vent about their unfortunate experience at Epcot. Seems Disney World Florida Man was at it again with some pretty heavy front end damage to the poster’s car. The victim was enjoying a night out at Epcot watching the Hanson show when someone Mmm-Bopped their car. To add to the insult, whoever smashed the car left behind a hundred dollars and a note that said “sorry”. But no information so they could file a claim. From the picture it looks like they hooked the back bumper with this car’s front end. Probably sideswiped...

You’re not supposed to see them like this, their polyester prince costumes unbuttoned and backpacks hanging from the shoulders of their colonial period dresses. Flip flops on, lunch boxes in hand, legions of workers stream into an employee parking lot at Walt Disney World, weary from another shift of making magic at the world’s busiest theme park. This is the place where the pixie dust loses its sparkle. It’s where the low-wage workers who power Orlando’s tourism machine leave the attractions, hotels and eateries and fade into a community that doesn’t have enough affordable housing, public transportation or opportunities in...

The Baldwin family was feeling the Christmas spirit at the Epcot’s Candlelight Processional as the choir sang and celebrity guest soap star Susan Lucci read the nativity story. “I turned to my husband [Claude] and I said, 'Aren’t you glad you came? And he said, ‘I just had a really great time,’" said Emma Jean Baldwin, according to court transcripts. “And that is when ... all hell just broke loose.” Claude Baldwin, then 74, said he was attacked by a teenage boy and injured at the end of the show on Dec. 22, 2011. However, the boy’s family argued it...

I remember the last time I was at Epcot. It was the early '90s during Disney World's off-peak season; it was overcast, and there was a tornado watch. Utterly terrified by the idea that my blankey and bunny could be swept away by a twister, I cried until my parents allowed me to take them with me into the park. We ultimately compromised on storing them safely in the rental car trunk. Kids don't really possess rationality. A handful of decades later, I'm back. And I'm a big boy now. So that can mean only one thing: I’m going to...

ABC is refusing paid ads for its health care program at the White House. Thus they're refusing even a paid-for alternative viewpoint. Conservatives for Patients Rights requested the rates to buy a 60 second network spot immediately preceding the broadcast of the Town Hall meeting. Here is statement from Rick Scott, chairman of Conservatives for Patients Rights. "It is unfortunate - and unusual - that ABC is refusing to accept paid advertising that would present an alternative viewpoint for the White House health care event. Health care is an issue that touches every American and all potential pieces of legislation...

LOS ANGELES — Barack Obama was standing on a riser inside a warehouse here, delivering an inspirational speech about the blessings of freedom, when his left index finger began to twitch uncontrollably, unnerving his aides. - snip - In that Hollywood building here, the life-size, three-dimensional figure was being put through its final tune-up, its chin rising and hands gesturing in response to technicians, in preparation for shipment to the Hall of Presidents exhibit at Disney World in Orlando, Fla. - snip - The public is to get its first glimpse of “Robobama,” as it is known among some handlers,...

"Credible Security Risk" Those are the words of the pilot on Delta Flight 1824 out of OIA, after it pulled back from the gate Friday morning to take off for Atlanta. Nine Middle Eastern passengers, six males and three females, had been denied access to the plane when TSA screeners found they were carrying an array of suspicious items ranging from hydrogen peroxide, which can be used to make bombs, to wires and Vaseline bottles taped together. Perhaps most disturbing, what one TSA worker tells me were the first positive tests for SEMTEX ever reported by security at OIA. SEMTEX...

MIAMI — A 49-year-old woman died Wednesday, a day after becoming ill after riding "Mission: Space" at Walt Disney World's — the second death in less than a year related to the Epcot ride so intense that it has motion sickness bags and several riders have been treated for chest pain. The woman became ill after riding the rocketship ride Tuesday afternoon and was transported to Celebration Hospital, where her condition worsened and she died, Walt Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty said in a statement. The woman's identity and hometown were not immediately released, and Prunty said no additional information...

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 4-year-old boy on a family vacation died Monday afternoon after he passed out on an Epcot Center ride. Officials said the accident happened on the Mission: SPACE ride. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on the Mission: SPACE ride, according to Disney officials. The ride simulates a launch into space by exerting g-forces on occupants. The child reportedly passed out on the ride and paramedics responded. Witnesses reported seeing the child's mother carry him outside to a nearby bench, where paramedics were able to briefly revive him. But the child died on the way to the...
