A Muslim mob torched and looted the homes of 80 Christian families in the Al-Beida village in Egypt, looking to punish them for wanting to turn one of the buildings in the village into a church so they can worship. One witness, Christian resident Mousa Zarif, recalled the events: "On Friday afternoon, following Friday noon prayer, a great deal of fanatic Muslims gathered in the front of the new house of my cousin, Naim Aziz, during its construction because of a rumor spread in the village that this building would be turned into a church."

Following the Orlando terror attack, Professor Ahmad Nofal of the University of Jordan said in his weekly program that gunman Omar Mateen was a "sick personality" with "perverse tendencies" and that "[homosexuality] is controlled and imposed upon the world by global Zionism, Allah's number one enemy on Earth." Professor Nofal added that Mateen "evoked the Western model of heroism," represented in the massacre of Native Americans. His address aired on the Jordanian Yarmouk TV channel on June 17. Ahmad Nofal: "(Omar Mateen) is a dramatic character that requires a film - a Hitchcock-style horror movie, like 'Psycho' from over 50...

'Ancient artefacts brought over by Egyptians, not by traders' Natalino Fenech The triad discovered at an abandoned archaeological site in Gozo in 1713. Two members of the Egyptological Society of Malta are promoting the theory that the many ancient Egyptian artefacts unearthed in Malta were brought over by the Egyptians themselves, and not, as commonly thought, by traders. In an article titled Did The Ancient Egyptians Ever Reach Malta?, published in the Egyptian Egyptological journal, Anton Mifsud and Marta Farrugia analysed Egyptian artefacts found here and went through old and recently published material on which to base their conclusions. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu toured on Tuesday the route of the fence being built along Israel's eastern border with Jordan. Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot and Southern District commander Eyal Zamir also participated in the tour along the route of the anticipated 30-kilometer fence. So far, five kilometers of the border fence have been erected. [...] The Prime Minister expressed his opinion that all of Israel should be surrounded by some sort of border fence. "At the end, in the State of Israel, as I see it, there will be a fence that spans it...

It seems as though everyone has an opinion on what the Egyptians should do with their country and government. Iran wants the Muslim Brotherhood restored to power; Russia is worried about civil war; most of the West wants new elections and an end to military rule. The US is currently debating on whether to call the coup a coup at all, as that designation would force a suspension of American aid to the Egyptian military. The Obama administration demanded the restoration of “a democratically elected civilian government” rather than “the democratically elected civilian government,” a nuance that was not lost...
  • Why Can't White House Just Say ISIS Beheaded Christians?

errorism: As in Paris, where the White House insists four Jews in a kosher market were randomly selected for slaughter, the statement condemning IS beheading 21 Egyptians omits a key fact: all were Christians. Speaking of the Chapel Hill, N.C., murder of three Muslims, President Obama, as his FBI began an investigation into whether it was a "hate crime," issued a statement saying that "no one in the United States of America should ever be targeted because of who they are, what they look like or how they worship." Indeed not. Yet, we could find no such sentiment or statement...

A year after completing an order for the Dassault Rafale, Cairo has reportedly reentered negotiations with France regarding the procurement of additional fighter jets. On June 15, La Tribune reported that Egypt is in discussions with Dassault Aviation for the acquisition of 12 more Rafales. La Tribune reports that some sources believe it is possible a contract could be reached before the end of this year, while others are more cautious about the timeframe for completion. As of yet, no side has commented on the reports of ongoing negotiations. Egypt and France formally signed an agreement worth 5.2 billion euros...

An initial batch of Advanced Fulcrum lightweight multirole fighters for Egypt is in production at the Russian Aircraft Corporation “MiG” (RAC MiG), according to industry sources. The number on order and the exact type of aircraft is not yet known. A couple of aircraft are to be ready for flight tests by the year-end. Russian media reports have given a contract value of $2 billion. Neither Moscow nor Cairo have revealed the status of the deal. This is mainly due to its complex nature, arranged by Egypt and Saudi Arabia with the latter granting funds under government-to-government agreements of a...

Yes, the rise of the Islamic State must have come about because Muslim children are watching cartoons that millions of non-Muslim children have watched without becoming murderous death-loving psychopaths. It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with their reading a book that they think comes from the supreme being, and that exhorts them to “kill the polytheists wherever you find them” (Qur’an 9:5). “Tom and Jerry are blamed for ISIS: Head of Egypt’s Information Service blames cartoon characters for teaching children that you can blow people up and encouraging extremism,” by Julian Robinson, MailOnline, May 5, 2016. New Delhi: India's Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, which was several years in the making, has now caught the attention of foreign buyers, with Sri Lanka and Egypt evincing interest in the indigenously built fighter jet. Sri Lanka had recently rejected Pakistan's JF-17 aircraft built with Chinese help, while Egypt had last year signed a contract for 24 French-made Rafale fighter jets. The two countries are interested in the current version of the Tejas and not the upgraded one which will be rolled out later. However, state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the manufacturer of Tejas, is focusing on delivering the aircraft...

The official didn't elaborate on how long the repairs would take but said if this cannot be done in Egypt, the so-called "black boxes" would be sent abroad. The court acquitted Morsi of charges of having supplied Qatar with classified documents but sentenced him to life for leading an unlawful organization, his lawyer Abdel Moneim Abdel Maksoud said. The ousted president was also convicted of having “stolen secret documents concerning state security” and handed another 15-year jail term, the lawyer added. …

A video-clip, titled "Thirst Has Gone, the Veins Are Moist, and the Reward Is Certain, If Allah Wills," dramatizes the preparations leading up to the June 8 terror attack in Tel Aviv. A young man is shown in his home, breaking the Ramadan fast with dates and dressing as a Jewish orthodox man, prior to arming himself with a submachine gun and spraying bullets in the restaurant. As the man lies dying, the words "Reward is certain, if Allah wills it" - part of a hadith associated with Ramadan - appear on the screen. The video was posted on the...

Russia is not ruling out using its veto power at the United Nations Security Council to thwart anti-Israel resolutions, an unnamed Israeli diplomatic official involved in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to Moscow last week told the Israeli news site nrg. However, the official did qualify his statement, saying that the chances of Russia wielding its veto power in such a manner were very low. The official noted that the high level of respect Russian President Vladmir Putin demonstrated toward Netanyahu and his traveling entourage last week was unprecedented and indicated Russia’s deep desire to bolster its relationship with Israel....
