Students at Independence High School in Williamson County, Tennessee, will not be allowed to watch President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration during class on Friday, according to one student and her mother. Senior Olivia Roberts was so surprised by the ban she decided to write a Facebook post that has since gone viral: “To preface this, I am not one to post or debate anything political on Facebook but wanted to hear thoughts on this: I go to public school and we are not allowed to watch the inauguration tomorrow... Teachers are banned to show it. Teachers are also not allowed to...

Tuesday, January 17, 2017 Fall of the Fake News Crusade Posted by Daniel Greenfield 0 Comments The Fake News crusade began with BuzzFeed, more than any other member of the media, and it deservedly ends there. It began with BuzzFeed faking news to kick off a crusade against Fake News. The fake news that BuzzFeed faked was about the threat of Fake News. The numbers were wrong. But that didn’t stop BuzzFeed from warning that what it called Fake News was beating real news. And that’s probably true. BuzzFeed’s discredited Trump dossier story outperformed the NBC story discrediting it. The...

Aric Babbitt was not just a teacher to some of his former students; he was also a mentor. To at least one of them, he was a father figure. *** (snip) Newly released police documents state that Babbitt, a 40-year-old elementary school teacher from Minnesota, and his 36-year-old husband, Matthew Deyo, sexually abused eight underage boys over the course several years, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported. The South St. Paul residents did not live to see any criminal charges against them. They were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide on an island in Washington state last August — shortly...

Rosie O’Donnell kicked off the New Year much the same way she ended the old one — by attacking Donald Trump on social media. [She] shared a message ... to her 900,000-plus Twitter followers informing them that they have “less than 3 weeks to stop” the President-elect. “Donald Trump is mentally unstable,” O’Donnell wrote on Twitter, linking to a CNN report about a Trump biographer who says the President-elect had him escorted from a Trump-owned Florida golf course... Calling the incoming commander-in-chief mentally unstable is merely par for the course for the 54-year-old comedienne. Last May, O’Donnell confidently declared that...

President Obama will have one last chance to force Judge Merrick Garland onto the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday — but it’s a legal gamble and one that has so many pitfalls that even those who say he could get away with it believe it isn’t worth the fight. Mr. Obama’s moment will come just before noon, in the five minutes that the Senate gavels the 114th Congress out of session and the time the 115th Congress begins. In those few moments the Senate will go into what’s known as an “intersession recess,” creating one golden moment when the president...

A freshman student at Bryn Mawr College has dropped out after what she says was unbearable harassment from her fellow students for supporting President-elect Donald Trump. In September, shortly after starting at the Pennsylvania women’s school, Andi Moritz made a post on the Bryn Mawr’s ride-sharing Facebook page, asking if anybody wanted to accompany her during a Saturday spent campaigning for Trump.Moritz said she wanted another girl along to ensure her safety since she was carpooling with a man she didn’t know. The request turned out to be a big mistake, as Moritz was bombarded with hundreds of comments from...

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Frustrated after seeing another candidate secure the presidency without winning the national popular vote, mostly Democratic lawmakers in several capitols want their states to join a 10-year-old movement to work around the Electoral College. In states including Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Mexico, legislators have said they plan to introduce legislation that would require their state’s Electoral College voters cast ballots for the presidential candidate who earns the most votes nationwide, regardless of the statewide results.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI is supporting the CIA's conclusion that Russia interfered in the presidential election with the goal of supporting Republican candidate Donald Trump. In a message sent to employees, CIA Director John Brennan said he had spoken with FBI Director James Comey and James Clapper, the director of national intelligence.

Retired Army intelligence officer Tony Shaffer alleged Monday that CIA Director John Brennan is playing political games via a secret CIA assessment stating Russia interfered with the election to support GOP President-elect Donald Trump......Shaffer claimed that the secret CIA assessment, obtained by The Washington Post.... is a product of Brennan’s loyalty to President Barack Obama, The Washington Examiner reports. “This is purely political, and I believe that John Brennan is a political animal,” Shaffer said. He added he has been talking with former CIA officials about the report. “Everything they are telling me is Brennan is doing this out of...

He owes nothing to the old guard, he sees a window for bold reforms, and he knows who his enemies are. The biggest surprise Donald Trump has provided as president-elect is just how conservative a cabinet he is putting together. “This is a more conservative cabinet than Reagan assembled in 1980,” says Ed Feulner, a key Trump transition adviser. As president of the Heritage Foundation at the time, Feulner provided guidance for Reagan’s choices. The conservative cast of the nominees thus far is somewhat unexpected, given Trump’s well-known reputation as a non-ideological thinker who has often backed big-government solutions. Plus,...

The video basically shows a single mother videoing throwing her 6 (or 7) year old son out of the house for voting for Trump in a school mock election. As I understand it, she originally posted the video to her Facebook account but after the massive negative reaction (imagine that), she deleted her account. A cache of the FB posting is here. Fortunately, somebody cross-posted it to YouTube (at the link above).

The shock and anger over Donald Trump’s ascension to the White House has triggered a flood of calls on Twitter and other social media outlets for the president-elect to be assassinated — and authorities will investigate all threats deemed to be credible, The Post has learned. Trump met Thursday with President Obama in the Oval Office, with the Republican businessmancalling the hour-plus session a “great honor.â€Â Obama said they had an “excellent†and “wide-ranging†conversation, while urging all people to “now come together.†But that message of inclusion was apparently lost in social media circles, particularly Twitter, where a simple search can reveal dozens...

If you voted for Donald Trump, you may not feel welcomed at Grubhub. The CEO of Grubhub, an online food delivery service, sent a company wide email Wednesday suggesting employees who agree with President-elect Donald Trump's behaviors and his campaign rhetoric should resign. [Snip] The CEO made it clear he’s particularly concerned Trump’s victory will empower others in his workplace to act out against marginalized groups. "While demeaning, insulting, and ridiculing minorities, immigrants, and the physically/mentally disabled worked for Mr. Trump, I want to be clear that this behavior -- and these views -- have no place at Grubhub," Maloney...

Author Ed Klein joined Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV on Wednesday after Donald Trump shocked the world by winning the US presidency in his first ever political race. Klein said Hillary Clinton called a friend and couldn’t stop crying. She blamed FBI Director Comey and Obama for the loss. Ed Klein: Here’s what I know, not my opinion. About 6:30 this morning she called an old friend. She was crying inconsolably. She couldn’t stop crying. And her friend, her female friend from way, way back said it was even hard to understand what she was saying she was crying so hard. This is Hillary we’re talking about. Eventually her friend...
