Left-wing fascists in San Diego are preparing to tax residents by the mile to convince them to give up their cars. Keep voting Democrat, geniuses. Via Fox News: San Diego County’s Regional Transportation Agency’s (SANDAG) latest transportation plan is designed to make driving so expensive that you succumb to public transportation. In addition to the current gas tax and registration fees, SANDAG’s plan adds three new half-cent sales tax increases, over 800 miles of San Diego County freeway lanes converted to toll lanes, and a mileage tax for every mile driven to pay for their $165 billion public mass transit...

Skip 1. He was not “presidential.” He was considered crude in speech, rough-hewn in manner, and given over to bluster and hyperbole unbefitting the highest office in the land. ... 2. He was an outsider, ... He was never a member of the Beltway club, whether Republicrats or Democrats. ... 3. He was competent and proudly patriotic. He put America first, cutting taxes, renegotiating bad trade deals to the nation’s advantage, ... For the “question of Trump” factors down to the three elements for which he was held accountable—personality, independence, and ability—and, of course, to the unbridgeable rift between the...
  • President Frank Underwood Launches Reelection Bid During GOP Debate

As Republican presidential candidates argued about foreign policy, terrorism, immigration and, of course, the horrors of a Hillary Clinton administration, another politician was sneakily making his move -- and he wasn't even on stage. "America, I'm only getting started," announced President Frank Underwood in a fake, but cleverly timed, campaign ad for his reelection bid. The parody ad, which promotes the launch date of the fourth season of Netflix's "House of Cards," was released with the hashtag #FU2016 during Tuesday night's GOP debate. It's a new day in America. #FU2016 https://t.co/0AcBefiby5 - House of Cards (@HouseofCards) December 16, 2015

Tens of thousands of Americans who cannot get health insurance because of preexisting medical problems will be blocked from a program designed to help them because funding is running low. Obama administration officials said Friday that the state-based “high-risk pools” set up under the 2010 health-care law will be closed to new applicants as soon as Saturday and no later than March 2, depending on the state. But they stressed that coverage for about 100,000 people who are now enrolled in the high-risk pools will not be affected. “We’re being very careful stewards of the money that has been appropriated...

In the early '80s, miles driven stayed below the previous peak for 39 months. Currently miles driven has been below the previous peak for 58 months - and still counting. Gasoline prices were up in September compared to September 2011. In September 2012, gasoline averaged of $3.91 per gallon according to the EIA. Last year, prices in September averaged $3.67 per gallon, so - just looking at gasoline prices - it is no surprise that miles driven decreased year-over-year in September. Just looking at gasoline prices suggest miles driven will be down again in October - especially with the very...

Bob Lutz, the former Vice Chairman of General Motors, is the most famous also-ran in the auto business. In the course of his 47-year rampage through the industry, he's been within swiping range of the brass ring at Ford, BMW, Chrysler and, most recently, GM, but he's never landed the top gig. It's because he "made the cars too well," he says. It might also have something to do with the fact that Maximum Bob, who could double as a character on Mad Men, is less an éminence grise than a pithy self-promoter who has a tendency to go off...

OAKLAND -- Incoming mayor and current Councilmember Jean Quan received an unwanted surprise Tuesday when she found a boot on the car she had parked in her reserved City Hall spot. The car in question, a Toyota Prius, is registered to Quan's husband, Floyd Huen. A police technician ran a check on the car and discovered that it had more than $1,000 worth of unpaid parking tickets, parking officials confirmed. The tech then ordered workers to immobilize the car. Quan said Wednesday evening that the couple had received the tickets during her campaign, which had kept her "extraordinarily busy." Her...

Mastodons Driven to Extinction by Tuberculosis, Fossils Suggest Kimberly Johnson for National Geographic News October 3, 2006 Tuberculosis was rampant in North American mastodons during the late Ice Age and may have led to their extinction, researchers say. Mastodons lived in North America starting about 2 million years ago and thrived until 11,000 years ago—around the time humans arrived on the continent—when the last of the 7-ton (6.35-metric-ton) elephantlike creatures died off. Scientists Bruce Rothschild and Richard Laub pieced together clues to the animals' widespread die-off by studying unearthed mastodon foot bones. Rothschild first noticed a telltale tuberculosis lesion on...

Convoy of fear driven out by war machine By Tim Butcher, in Tyre, southern Lebanon (Filed: 21/07/2006) It was the terrified faces of the children pressed against the car windows yesterday looking up for Israeli aircraft that showed this was no ordinary seaside drive. Thousands of Lebanese fled in fear up the country's Mediterranean coast road, pathetically waving white towels and pieces of clothing as if that could protect them from the force of the Israeli war machine. A family flee their village in southern Lebanon Bumping past craters ripped deep into the road by Israeli bombs, the stream of...

While North Korea was gearing up to launch a long range missile and five rockets into the Sea of Japan this week, sending a grim message to the entire world, out at Saddleback Church Rick Warren was announcing that he will soon be bringing his message of purpose to North Korea where he reportedly will be addressing an audience of 15,000. “God is using Rick Warren to be a messenger of peace!” gushed one Saddleback member. There is great hope in Lake Forest that Rick Warren's message in that stadium will cause Kim Jong II to drop his nuclear purposes...

Rick Warren's book, The Purpose Driven Life, has sold tens of millions of copies and over 16,000 attend his church, but some critics have gone public with claims that he is not the real deal, as far as Christianity is concerned. Claims that Warren is presenting a watered-down Christianity, to his being a pantheist and practically everything in between, has found their way into writings on the internet, on the radio and even a book. Today's show, with Author & cult expert Richard Abanes regarding his book, addressing these claims is well worth the listen. We started getting email responses...

LAKELAND, Fla. - A sheriff's deputy trying to stop an erratic driver fired at the car when it lurched toward him, not realizing a 12-year-old girl was behind the wheel, officials said. Neither she nor her 6-year-old brother were hit. Deputy Chris Hillsgrove and a colleague pursued the car Sunday, eventually blocking it between their two patrol cars. When the deputies exited their vehicles, the car lurched forward and backward into the two cars, then drove toward Hillsgrove, Polk County Sheriff's spokeswoman Michal Shanley said. "He, fearing for his life, fired several shots at the oncoming vehicle and managed to...

Ok here it goes.... My co-workers here seem to be pushing a bit to the left concerning the oil prices. They know I am a conservative and continually say the President should step in and that he is only getting rich (wow I have never heard that one before!!). I came back with it is market driven and teh price of oil is driven by the buyers wanting to secure their supply and therefore bid a higher amount. They looked like deer in the headlights until one guy came back with well Exxon made X number of billions in profits...

The discerning side of my mind
Would like to know if there are any other Christians out there that have not swallowed Rick Warren's version of the Gospel. I left my "seeker-friendly" Church after much prayer and ponder, and it took several months to make the split. I still must speak with my former pastor about this, so until I do, I will not name my former Church. I have noticed that most who follow the "Purpose Driven" material are emotionally attached to it, much like true Christians are emotionally tied to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
