Almost a year and a half after promising to detail a “stunning number of donors” who sought favors and didn’t get them, Mayor de Blasio published an op-ed containing only two new examples. The op-ed — which does not name a single contributor, not even two he references who have since been arrested in a police corruption case — was published on the website Medium on the Friday ahead of the long Labor Day Weekend.

Left-wing billionaire George Soros’ non-profit network, the Open Society Foundations (OSF), is confident about the future success of its work in the field of immigration activism and may embark on a massive campaign on immigration issues in the near future. That’s according to a candid 62-page document reviewing OSF’s work on immigration reform discussed in May at the group’s board meeting in Montgomery, Ala. The document, which is one of 2,500 stolen from OSF in a massive hack and released over the weekend, shows that the Soros group believes that its $7.7 million investment in groups pushing for immigration reform...

The Republican National Committee paid the Trump International Hotel in Washington $122,000 last month after the party held a lavish fundraiser at the venue in June, the latest example of how GOP political committees are generating a steady income stream for President Trump's private business, new Federal Election Commission records show. At least 25 congressional campaigns, state parties and the Republican Governors Association have together spent more than $473,000 at Trump hotels or golf resorts this year, according to a Washington Post analysis of campaign finance filings. Trump's companies collected an additional $793,000 from the RNC and the president's campaign...

The Republican National Committee (RNC) expanded its massive fundraising lead over the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in July as the Democrats posted their worst July haul in a decade. The DNC raised just $3.8 million in July, compared to the $10.2 million raised by the RNC in the same month. While the GOP has no debt, the DNC added slightly to its debt in July, which now sits at $3.4 million. The Democrats haven't raised that little money in a July since 2007; the party raised $3.4 million in that month. The Hill obtained the RNC's fundraising numbers ahead of...

Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson has privately told one of his allies that he supports a campaign that depicts H.R. McMaster as anti-Israel and seeks to remove him from his post as national security adviser. In an email to Mort Klein, the president of the Zionist Organization of America, Adelson writes: "Now that I have talked to somebody with personal experience with McMaster, I support your efforts." Why this matters: Adelson is arguably the most influential donor in Republican politics, spending tens of millions of dollars each election season. He also funds the ZOA, which has been relentlessly attacking McMaster and...

Republican donors are protesting GOP lawmakers' failure to repeal Obamacare by withholding donations to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. At least $2 million in contributions originally promised to the NRSC have not materialized, CNN reported Tuesday. The failure of Republicans to fulfill a central campaign promise particularly concerns some donors because it could disillusion core voters heading into the 2018 midterms. The uncertainty could put the Republicans' majority—especially in the House of Representatives—at risk.

Sen. Jeff Flake. Photo: J. Scott Applewhite / AP Jeff Flake is one of the few elected Republicans to publicly break from Donald Trump, denouncing Trump-style populism in his new book and refusing to endorse Trump during the presidential election. Now, Trump-supporting billionaire Robert Mercer is donating $300,000 to a super PAC backing Kelli Ward, one of Flake's Republican primary challengers, Politico's Alex Isenstadt reports. Why it matters: Polls show that Flake is deeply unpopular in Arizona, and Republican primary voters are still overwhelmingly supportive of Trump. The precarious situation Flake finds himself in shows the risks other Republicans will...

When a Trinity College professor drew national outrage for his “Let them all ******* die” Facebook status update about white people, his college stood by its man. Not all students and donors were similarly inclined. "Donors have pulled back and incoming students have decided to go elsewhere in response to the firestorm that erupted from a professor's racially-charged Facebook posts, Trinity College’s president said Monday," Russell Blair wrote in The Hartford Courant on August 1, 2017. "Joanne Berger-Sweeney said 16 incoming students have withdrawn and past donors have chosen not to contribute to the school this year, resulting in about...

TRENTON -- Already trailing badly in the polls, Republican New Jersey governor candidate Kim Guadagno has been hit with another devastating 1-2 punch: She's lost the confidence of a pair of deep-pocketed GOP groups that spend big on governor's races, NJ Advance Media has learned. The Republican National Committee, which is controlled by President Donald Trump, views the lieutenant governor as someone who hasn't been loyal to the president and officials there see her race as a losing cause, according to two sources familiar with the RNC's plans. ... Gingrich, who also appeared on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” pointed to the early hires special counsel Robert Mueller has made. “Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair,” he tweeted. “Look who he is hiring.check fec [sic] reports. Time to rethink.” He's not wrong about the donations. Four top lawyers hired by Mueller have contributed tens of thousands of dollars over the years to the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates, including former President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump's 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton. One of the hires, Jeannie Rhee, also worked as a...

RUSH: We have Joe from Billings, Montana, leading off. Great to have you, sir. What’s up? How’s it happening? CALLER: Rush, glad to talk to you. I’m on my way in a few minutes to vote out here, as a matter of fact. And I wanted to say that if every Republican candidate in the country picked up a reporter and threw him to the ground, it would increase my chances exponentially of voting for them. RUSH: No kidding. CALLER: No kidding. Absolutely. Every single Republican candidate for the House — of course, there’s no election for two years —...

Candidate Donald Trump said of Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal, “This corruption and collusion is just one more reason why I will ask my attorney general to appoint a special prosecutor.” He later upped the ante with the declaration, “She has to go to jail.” Now, it appears that the Trump State Department is working to keep the e-mails secret. On May 5, Judicial Watch issued a press release announcing that U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered the U.S. Department of State to turn over to the watchdog organization "eight identical paragraphs" of previously redact material in two September 13,...
