WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House says President Barack Obama has invited House Democratic leaders to dinner Wednesday at a hotel near the White House. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California will attend the private dinner, along with the No. 2 and No. 3 Democrats in the House, congressmen Steny Hoyer of Maryland and James Clyburn of South Carolina. The top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, Maryland's Chris Van Hollen, will be there, plus the chair of the House Democrat's campaign arm, Steve Israel of New York.

Well, this is awkward. A man was having a spat with his girlfriend at an Olive Garden in Charlotte, NC on Sunday night when he decided to resolve the matter in the utmost mature manner: defiantly building a fort of menus to shield his face from his girlfriend. Fellow diner Adam Howell caught the incident on his camera phone, tweeting it out to his 650 followers, and the photo soon went viral. Talk about an odd couple. Liberal media mogul Arianna Huffington is bringing GOP star Gov. Chris Christie to the White House Correspondents' dinner later this month. The governor will feel at home with the Huffington Post founder's other guests: New Jersey natives Jon Bon Jovi of Sayreville and Shaquille O'Neal of Newark, according to Women's Wear Daily, which first reported the invites. Shaq recently visited Christie at the Statehouse in Trenton.

Gov. Chris Christie got the seat of honor at tonight’s annual governor’s dinner, sitting next to first lady Michelle Obama. The New Jersey governor, a Republican, joined governors from across the nation at the annual Governor’s Association Meeting, and at one point, clinked glasses with the president’s wife. Tonight was the annual Alfred E. Smith Dinner where the candidates take a humorous break from the campaign trail. But I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised at how funny Romney was as he delivered line after line, mostly about the president.
