Five hundred and eighty one days ago, I wrote a column that appeared in these pages with a headline on the cover that read “It Needs To End. NOW.” In May 2020 there were no COVID vaccines, and limited treatments, and yet already, many voices had begun to call out the excessive illiberal measures enacted by gubernatorial despots in our bluest states. A year and a half later, the results are in. The critics of lockdowns were right... Insidious rules... Quarantine rules make for a stealth lockdown, with visitors and workers out for more than a week if they happen...

Mayor Bill de Blasio sprang a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on all private businesses in New York City on Monday — drawing immediate rebuke from trade groups, New York office workers and some fellow elected officials who said the backbone of the Big Apple was “blindsided” by the stunning move. De Blasio, whose mayoralty ends at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, labeled making vaccines compulsory for private businesses a “pre-emptive strike” against an expected surge in COVID infections this winter amid the emergence of the Omicron variant. ... Kathryn Wylde, head of the business group Partnership for NYC,...

NEW YORK CITY—Approximately two in five New York City restaurants, gyms, and entertainment venues weren’t fully abiding by the city’s COVID-19 vaccination pass mandate when first inspected. The city managed to inspect nearly two-thirds of the estimated 31,000 businesses that are required to ask their employees and customers for proof of vaccination. Some 8,000 were issued a warning for noncompliance. Of those, more than 3,300 for infractions that would have led to violations which could be penalized with a fine of $1,000 for the first and going up to $5,000 for the third. Upon second inspection at least two weeks...

City workers took to the streets Monday to protest Mayor Bill de Blasio’s vaccine mandate for the entire municipal workforce. At least 20 people were arrested during the protest, a police source said. Days after the mayor announced that all government employees except for jail staff will need to receive a vaccine shot by Friday or be placed on unpaid leave, about 5,000 incensed demonstrators marched over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan. Many carried American flags, chanting, “F–k de Blasio” and “We will not comply!” Some protesters wore NYPD and FDNY shirts, and several hoisted Gadsden “Don’t Tread on Me”...

A mob of anti-vaxxers stormed Brooklyn’s Barclays Center Sunday as violence erupted at a rally to support Nets hoopster Kyrie Irving, who is refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Hundreds gathered outside the team’s home arena to support Irving, chanting “no vaccine mandate” and “stand with Kyrie” before a break-away group stormed the barricades, wild Twitter video shows. The footage shows security personnel trying in vain to hold back the crowd but being quickly overwhelmed as a handful of protesters break through and make for the front doors. The mob shouted about “Nazi passports” and “Let Kyrie play,” and waved...

Nearly 1,000 people flocked to a Times Square rally Saturday to protest the COVID-19 vaccine and mandates that they get jabbed. Some participants wore T-shirts or carried signs that read “My Body, My Choice,” “Freedom Over Fear” and “De Blasio is the Virus.”... The crowd at one point chanted “I stand with Kyrie Irving,” the unvaccinated Nets player who was banned from playing until he gets jabbed. Anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the board chair of Children’s Health Defense, addressed the crowd of about 900 and said, “the vaccine is not safe and effective.” “We have no business giving this...

So far, just 14 businesses — out of 27,500 inspected — have been hit with fines by the city for disobeying new vaccination rules. The $1,000 fines doled out so far come as another 6,760 businesses were warned about failing to enforce the city’s mandate, which requires patrons produce proof of vaccination to enter places like restaurants, bars, museums, and theaters. The city declined to identify the violators. City businesses that disregard the mandate face a warning, followed by a $1,000 fine for a first offense, $2,000 for the second, and $5,000 for each additional violation.... Enforcement of the mandate...

The labor union that represents most of New York City‘s public school teachers is allowing educators to “document issues” regarding the city’s quarantine mandate by uploading photos of violators. The United Federation of Teachers (UFT), tweeted Sunday: “If you encounter issues in your classroom related to the mayor’s new quarantine guidelines for students, including cases where students are not able to maintain 3 feet of distance, please use this form to document them.” UFT then linked to an online form where teachers can report quarantine rule violations by uploading information that can include up to five photos. The form also...

One of the leaders of a Black Lives Matter group in New York City promised an “uprising” against the city’s COVID-19 vaccine passports, decrying the system as racist. According to data provided by New York state, about 85 percent of black residents have not received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Data provided by New York City shows that 64 percent of black people between the ages of 18 and 44 are not fully vaccinated while 56 percent have received one shot. With the school having barely started, New York City parents already have issues with the measures the state put in place to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. For starters, it only takes one positive case for a whole class to get sent home for 10 days. Some parents question the rationale behind the policy. They say children should be able to remain in class, at least if they test negative themselves. Sept. 13 was the first day of school, welcoming in person children in New York City and other districts for the first time since the pandemic started...

CNA Staff, Oct 19, 2020 / 09:00 am MT (CNA).- A federal court ruled against the Diocese of Brooklyn on Friday in its case against new coronavirus restrictions which impose local limits on Mass attendance. The diocese had sued the state of New York on Oct. 8 over new public health restrictions that limited the size of gatherings in certain “hot spots” around the state, or localities where the new coronavirus has been spreading. Certain churches in Brooklyn and Queens were effectively limited to holding 10 or 25 people for indoor Masses, under the new rules. On Friday, a federal...

Well di Blasio it looks like he is planning another shutdown that will extend to locations that have no Covid-19 problems. He is aiming to close down even private schools that have no problems at all. Our grandchildren's school is one of these private schools. Our daughter in law and son are very worried and so are we. This will destroy the lives of many people unnecessarily and it is just not fair - but neither is di Blsio. Join us in this plea to God that this latest attack does not take place.

By the end of the summer, or possibly by the end of this month, you're going to see Trump Tower under siege from BLM & Antifa activists who will try and create what they did in Seattle. They will attempt to kick out the tenants in Trump Tower and take over and occupy the building. They are already talking about putting a mural in front of Trump Tower in Chicago. Putting a mural of Black Lives Matter in front of Trump Tower was no accident. The Left has only a window to implement their agenda because the grinding sound of...

More than 400 people were awaiting arraignment in Manhattan criminal court Tuesday afternoon for allegedly looting stores Monday night — and most will likely be cut loose without bail because of the state law passed earlier this year, a court spokesperson said. By 4 p.m., a majority of the 400 people arrested were awaiting arraignment and most will be hit with a felony burglary charge for which bail cannot be set, meaning they will be released, New York State Court spokesperson Lucian Chalfen said in an email. Chalfen added Manhattan criminal court was operating two arraignment parts Tuesday afternoon and...
