This story epitomizes how hysterical and thoughtless the public discourse is nowadays. Trump is presented by the late Bob Bennett and the Daily Beast as an “Islamophobe” — someone with an irrational hatred of or fear of Islam and Muslims. In reality, he hasn’t said anything about Islam at all except that clearly there is a “problem,” and there obviously is. He has called for a temporary moratorium on Muslim immigration as an attempt to stop Islamic jihadis from entering the country. Did Bennett address that problem? Not from the looks of this story.
