The new governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis has named Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Mike Ertel as the new Secretary of State, who will be overseeing elections in Florida. Although he is a Republican, he does not endorse candidates nor does he allow corruption from anyone, regardless of political affiliation. He counts the votes and that is all. Seminole County under Ertel has an excellent record of tabulating votes. Snipes has been an embarrassment to the entire state and Florida elections will be much better in 2020 under his leadership. That will likely not be to Snipes liking because if...

NASSAU COUNTY BALLOTS IN STORAGE. FILE PHOTO. Nassau County Democrats are reporting that Sunday’s recount of votes by the Nassau County Supervisor of Elections is finished and there were “zero percentage changes” in the vote totals. A manual recount of the over and under votes, if ordered, will occur later this week.” According to Florida Election laws, in the event the recount shows the vote margin is less than or equal to 0.25% , a manual recount is required. The manual recount applies only for ballots sorted by the automatic tabulating equipment showing undervotes or overvotes.

Democrats and Republicans are bracing for a protracted and volatile recount in Florida as election officials rush to meet a Thursday deadline to complete the process. Recounts in three statewide races were in full swing, with the nail-biter race between Sen. Bill Nelson (D) and Gov. Rick Scott (R) taking center stage. Votes are also being retabulated for the state's gubernatorial race between former Rep. Ron DeSantis (R) and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D). The unfolding drama, and the legal battles surrounding it, are reminiscent of Florida’s presidential recount battle in 2000 that resulted in the election of former President...

Counting unlawful votes. Destroying ballots. Sunshine Law violations. Busted deadlines. So many controversies have bedeviled Broward County Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes — culminating in her office’s troubles in the aftermath of Florida’s chaotic 2018 elections — that her days in office are now numbered, insiders and lawmakers say. She’s losing support from fellow Democrats and faces the increasing likelihood of an embarrassing suspension from office at the hands of either Gov. Rick Scott or his likely successor, Ron DeSantis. Suspending Snipes from office would put a final exclamation point on one of the most contested midterms in recent Florida history,...

Just days before the eightieth anniversary of Kristallnacht, when Nazis burned synagogues, looted Jewish homes and shops, and rounded up Jewish families for concentration camps, Tucker Carlson’s home was surrounded by Antifa thugs who pounded on his door (cracking it), terrifying his wife, uttered threats against him and his family and painted an anarchist symbol on his driveway while the DC police did nothing to these modern-day brownshirts. This is not the first time they have engaged in violence and threats in my city, and not the first time there have been no legal consequences for their lawless, threatening behavior....

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D) withdrew his concession to Republican candidate Ron DeSantis in the Florida gubernatorial race on Saturday as a recount in the state begins. . . Gillum initially conceded the race on Tuesday after returns showed him trailing by 1 point. That margin narrowed considerably, however, as new vote totals came in from Broward and Palm Beach counties on Thursday and Friday, putting the race in recount territory.

All counties have completely reported everything except overseas and military ballots. https://floridaelectionwatch.gov/CountyReportingStatus There aren't any more ballots in Broward or Palm Beach. As I predicted in another thread, Scott holds a 12.5K lead. No recount ever, anywhere, in history has overturned a lead of that magnitude. The largest change in votes in a recount previously was Gore's attempted theft of Florida in 2000, and even with all the shenanigans and hanging chads, he only managed to turn about 1200 votes. This is 10x that number for Scott and nearly 30x that number for DeSantis.

President Trump on Friday claimed that Broward County election officials were prepared in 2016 to falsify the county's vote totals against him as they continue to count ballots from Tuesday's hotly contested midterm elections. In a tweet, the president asserted that Broward County election officials were late with their vote counts in 2016 and were "probably getting ready to do a 'number'" on him to thwart his bid to capture Florida's 29 Electoral College votes. "In the 2016 Election I was winning by so much in Florida that Broward County, which was very late with vote tabulation and probably getting...

The race for Florida governor appears headed for a recount, as Democrat Andrew Gillum continues to gain on Republican Ron DeSantis during the tallying of the final uncounted ballots cast in the midterm elections. Gillum, the outgoing mayor of Tallahassee, conceded the race Tuesday night before 11 p.m. after results appeared to show him too far behind his opponent to make up the difference. DeSantis, a former congressman, gave his victory speech shortly after. But thousands of votes remained untallied. And over the next 36 hours, the margins gradually shrank. As of 9 a.m., DeSantis' lead was just 42,948 votes...
  • DeSantis Victory Saves The Florida Supreme Court And Redistricting

Amid all of the talking head analysis of Tuesday’s election, one aspect is often overlooked: Republican Ron DeSantis’ victory for Governor of Florida will sharply change the makeup of the Florida Supreme Court to a large majority conservative, constitutionalist, which will have a powerful impact on redistricting in the nation’s third largest state. But it was close — less than 1 percent close. Andrew Gillum could have been the first African American governor in the history of Florida. Indeed, the last time this degree of historical significance graced a candidate, he won the Presidency of the United States. But Andrew...

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Ron DeSantis was elected governor of Florida on Tuesday, handing President Trump an important victory and extending the Republican Party’s dominance in the nation’s third-largest state. Mr. DeSantis, a 40-year-old former congressman, fended off his opponent, Andrew Gillum, one of the strongest candidates Florida Democrats had fielded in years. Republicans have now won every election for governor since 1998. “Every two years there’s one day in November where elites don’t call the shots, don’t craft the narrative or set the agenda,” Mr. DeSantis told jubilant supporters festooned in confetti in an Orlando hotel ballroom late on Tuesday...
