While the media is concerned with President Trump’s optimism perhaps sending false hope to the American people, it seems the American people like positive information about the fight against COVID-19. Of course, all the haters piled on Trump for not being a doctor, even though they’re not doctors. Andrew Feinberg, who covers the White House and Capitol for something called Breakfast Media, blasted the president for posting “ignorant snake oil drivel.” But remember: Reporters don’t root for a side.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser, acknowledged Sunday that gun violence in the US is a public health emergency. 'Myself, as a public health person, I think you can't run away from that. When you see people getting killed, in this last month it's just been horrifying what's happened. How can you say that's not a public health issue?' he told CNN's Dana Bash on 'State of the Union' when asked if gun violence was a public health emergency.

Kooky CNN doc Jonathan Reiner just doesn't seem to be able to stay in his medical lane. In recent months, we caught Reiner putting on his legal-analyst [dunce?] cap, accusing President Trump of "negligent homicide" and "criminal endangerment." On this morning's New Day, Reiner veered into the foreign policy field, declaring that for months, he's believed that only "regime change" in the US could bring the pandemic under control. Today the Cleveland Plain Dealer announced the resignation of Connie Schultz, wife of Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH). Schultz had come under fire recently for attending a Tea Party rally near Cleveland at which her husband’s likely opponent in 2012, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, was a featured speaker. Schultz was spotted videotaping Mandel’s speech, but she conspicuously neglected to mention in her article that Mandel was even at the rally. (Read the details in my previous diary). Has anyone noticed something that I have noticed recently? Kerry is unclear on Iraq. He says that President Bush had absolutely no justifiable reason for attacking Iraq. He says that there was no proof that Sadam Hussein was involved with Al Quiada. Then he says that if he were president he would have gone about conquering Iraq very differently.
