<p>Members of President Trump’s inner circle charged Sunday that former CIA director John O. Brennan is trying to undermine the relationship between the new administration and the intelligence community on his way out the door.</p> <p>Escalating the war of words on Sunday, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Mr. Brennan is beginning to sound like a “partisan political hack” with his repeated public criticisms of the new president after the former director reportedly called Mr. Trump’s postinaugural visit to the CIA’s Langley headquarters a “despicable display of self-aggrandizement.”</p>

CNN President Jeff Zucker says President-elect Donald Trump's attacks on his network are an attempt to "delegitimize journalism," adding that CNN's "credibility is higher than ever." "It's just unfortunate that the most powerful person in the world is trying to delegitimize journalism and an organization that plays such a vital role in our democracy," Zucker told New York Magazine in an interview Wednesday. "I think he's entitled to his opinion, but it's - to use one of his favorite words - sad."

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” President Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Denis McDonough said he is proud that the Obama administration has been “historically free of scandal.”

While Barack Obama delivered his final address as president, celebrities were gushing with heartfelt tributes. Many took to Twitter where record producer Russell Simmons posted a sweet snap of Obama posing for a selfie with two young black boys. He then wrote: 'President Obama, because of you "those brown kids" know that they too can one day be President of the U.S. #ObamaAndKids #ObamaFarewell' Meanwhile other celebrities wrote about how much they enjoyed the speech, with some pleading for Obama be allowed to stay on in the White House.

Thursday on Chicago’s ABC7 when asked by correspondent Judy Hsu if race relations have gotten better or worse during his tenure, President Barack Obama said “for the most part” they had gotten better. Obama said “You know I think that in some ways, like everything else it’s gotten better ... I promise you, for the most part, race relations have gotten better.”

Scandal, what scandal? President Obama has been squeaky clean, according to his closest adviser, Valerie Jarrett. “The president prides himself on the fact that his administration hasn’t had a scandal and he hasn’t done something to embarrass himself,” Jarrett said in an interview broadcast on CNN Sunday.

The Los Angeles Times has published an editorial arguing that the Electoral College shouldn’t be allowed to choose the next U.S. president, on the grounds that it is unconstitutional. Needless to say, Kenneth Jost’s argument is a very bold one, since the Constitution explicitly creates the Electoral College and describes how it works; the system was even refined with the 12th Amendment. But Jost, an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, says that’s no barrier to having the Supreme Court abolish the Electoral College by fiat.

Media Matters founder David Brock gave a speech to a group of Democratic lawmakers and activists Monday in which he called the party to immediately begin resisting the Trump administration, even before Trump takes office: Given the reality of the election, the Democratic Party must quickly learn to be an opposition party.
