Sherwin, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Washington Field Office’s Criminal Division James A. Dawson, and Acting Chief of the United States Park Police (USPP) Gregory T. Monahan. The complaint, unsealed today, alleges that on June 22, 2020, the four men along with other unidentified individuals, damaged and attempted to tear down...

I missed this when it was published Thursday. The Washington Post’s Philip Bump did a fact-check of sorts on a claim made by President Trump: “You hear about certain places like Chicago and you hear about what’s going on in Detroit and other — other cities, all Democrat run,” he said. “Every one of them is Democrat run. Twenty out of 20. The 20 worst, the 20 most dangerous are Democrat run.” It’s not clear how Trump is defining “most dangerous” in this context. So let’s look at two related sets of data compiled by the FBI: most violent...

"Oh, now you want the cops!" taunts directed at vandal who sought refuge behind police Video footage shows a monument vandal associated with the Black Lives Matter movement running and seeking refuge behind police officers moments after shoving a senior citizens to the ground. Black Lives Matter has achieved notoriety for its association with various anti-police sentiments and slogans, such as “Defund/Abolish The Police,” “Kill All Cops,” and “Pigs In A Blanket, Fry Em Like Bacon,” as well as its supporters’ penchant for participating in violence, rioting, and the desecration of monuments. An interesting scene unfolded earlier this week at...

Democratic Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser told residents to spend the 4th of July at home, despite encouraging Black Lives Matter (BLM) gatherings happening en masse amid the coronavirus outbreak. “Just because there are going to be fireworks downtown — doesn’t mean I have to go,” Bowser said at a press conference Thursday. She said she hopes to see a significant reduction in crowd sizes related to July 4th events, according to Fox 5. The mayor did not share the same COVID-19 concerns for BLM protests that flooded the city streets following the death of George Floyd, who died after...

Protesters held a rally on Friday evening in Washington D.C. as they continued to call for the removal of a statue of President Abraham Lincoln and a freed black man. The statue, which is located in Lincoln Park, is known as the Emancipation Memorial or Freedman's Memorial and depicts an African-American man in a loincloth who is seen kneeling at the president's feet. The depiction is seen as offensive with critics calling it 'paternalistic' which have led to calls for its removal.

COVID-19 peak dates for every state Wake Forest coach to isolate from wife for entire season The Boston Globe logoThe prosecution of Michael Flynn is not over yet On Wednesday, two accounts of the Department of Justice — one grounded in fact, the other in fiction — were on display in the nation’s capital. The first occurred before the House Judiciary Committee, where Andrew Zelinksy, a career prosecutor currently working at the Justice Department, took the extraordinary step of testifying about political interference in criminal cases from “the highest levels of the Department,” namely by Attorney General William Barr. Zelinsky...

The U.S. House on Friday approved legislation to make D.C. the 51st state in the United States. The House vote was the first on D.C. statehood in more than a quarter-century. The vote was 232-180. While it marks the first time the House has passed a D.C. statehood bill, the Republican-controlled Senate has no plans to take it up. The bill would establish a federal district of two square miles, comprising the Capitol and White House, the National Mall and other major federal buildings. The rest of the District would become a state called Washington, Douglass Commonwealth, named for the...

Thursday, during an interview with Washington Post national political reporter Robert Costa, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said President Donald Trump was “glorifying white supremacy” by not wanting to rename U.S. military bases named after members of the Confederacy. Costa asked, “Should art depicting slave owners, including our nation’s Founding Fathers, come down in the country.”

House Democrats are poised to approve Washington, D.C., becoming the nation's 51st state in a historic vote scheduled for Friday. Washington the 'District of Columbia' would be no longer, the bill's language says, as the new state would be referred to as 'Washington, Douglass Commonwealth' - swapping out Italian explorer Christopher Columbus for Maryland-born abolitionist Frederick Douglass. 'And what an appropriate name: George Washington and Frederick Douglass, joined together in support of citizenship, what an appropriate name it seems to me for the capital of America,' remarked Rep. Steny Hoyer, the House's No. 2 Democrat who represents nearby Maryland. 'To...

Hundreds of troops with the Washington, D.C., National Guard have mobilized to protect monuments in the nation's capital, a senior U.S. defense official told Fox News on Wednesday. Interior Secretary David Bernhardt requested the action earlier this week, as protesters target statues and other historical markers during ongoing demonstrations in the wake of George Floyd's police custody death in Minneapolis at the end of May. TRUMP ISSUES WARNING AMID VANDALISM, EFFORT TO TOPPLE ANDREW JACKSON STATUE Protesters on Monday attempted to tear down a statue of Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square by the White House, and defaced it with the...

Twelve years ago, officials in Vallejo, Calif., reluctantly took a step that activists are now urging in cities across the country: They defunded their police department. Unable to pay its bills after the 2008 financial crisis, Vallejo filed for bankruptcy and cut its police force nearly in half - to fewer than 80 officers, from a pre-recession high of more than 150. At the time, the working-class city of 122,000 north of San Francisco struggled with high rates of violent crime and simmering mistrust of its police department. It didn't seem like things could get much worse. And then they...

MRC President L. Brent Bozell on Monday announced that the Media Research Center would no longer accept money from the AmazonSmile program. Amazon has brushed off conservative concerns about letting an anti-Christian organization like SPLC decide which groups may receive funds. Additionally, Amazon recently tried to censor a book because it didn’t toe the party line on the coronavirus lockdowns. “Any money from Amazon is tainted, hate-filled money that we want nothing to do with,” said MRC President L. Brent Bozell. “The liberal-loving Jeff Bezos and his hacks at Amazon and Washington Post oppose everything we stand for at the...

President Trump vowed Tuesday that what happened in Seattle will not take place in the nation's capital, and that no such "autonomous" zone" will be established in D.C. after protesters who attempted to set up such a space were cleared out the night before. Demonstrators on Monday had blocked off an area that they called the "Black House Autonomous Zone," or "BHAZ." "There will never be an 'Autonomous Zone' in Washington, D.C., as long as I’m your President. If they try they will be met with serious force!" Trump tweeted Tuesday morning. ~snip~ Protesters also had defaced and attempted to...

At one point, the white demonstrator tells the black cop, “Your child’s gonna tell you you’re a piece of s***. Your mom’s gonna tell you you’re a piece of s***. You’re a piece of s***. You’re a piece of s***.” The white BLM thug then moves in closer and holds a finger in front of the officer’s face, proclaiming, “You’re part of the f***ing problem.” After some back-and-forth with an officer out of the camera’s view, the thug then moves to a white cop standing next to the black officer, claiming he has a “First Amendment right” to get in...

Protesters behind the White House on Monday night claimed the historic St. John’s Episcopal Church as the “Black House Autonomous Zone,” vandalizing four of the church’s columns with the acronym BHAZ. . . . John Cheeks, a former independent candidate for D.C.’s nonvoting at-large congressional seat, stood outside St. John’s, bellowing into a megaphone about the historical evils of the Episcopal Church, which, he said, as an institution was one of the four largest slaveholders in American history. “The other three were the Catholics, Methodists, and Presbyterians,” he added, before demanding that all white Christians pay cash to black people...

Tucker Carlson reported that it is highly unusual for the press to be evacuated from the briefing room. The mob is attempting to set up a “Black House Autonomous Zone” near the White House, similar to the CHAZ/CHOP lawless zone in Seattle. The Seattle zone has been plagued with theft, drugs, violence, and even murder in recent days. In DC, the mob also attempted to tear down the iconic statue of Andrew Jackson outside the White House and once again vandalized the historic St. John’s Church that they had lit ablaze just weeks ago.

It looks like the DC Metro and Park Police are taking a stand to drive back 'protestors' from destroying the Andrew Jackson statue in Lafayette Park. This is clear provocation. They're testing the limits of how close they can get to the White House. 4 min clip: Reporters are told to leave the White House amid reports protesters attempted to remove an Andrew Jackson statue nearby.

As I was talking Thursday with John Heubusch, the brilliant and dedicated executive director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, it was really driven home to me what a dangerous period we are living through. ~snip~ It is the ignorance of the mob which allows its members to smear American heroes and destroy the memory of key personalities in the rise of freedom. In Boston, the ignorant and the hateful damaged the statue dedicated to Col. Robert Gould Shaw and the men of the 54th Massachusetts. As anyone familiar with American history – or who has at least...

And so one of the West’s greatest, most enduring mysteries, which has spurred numerous failed attempts to crack it, continues. It’s the saga of Jack the Ripper, who committed at least five grisly murders in East London in the autumn of 1888 and then, poof, disappeared, never to be identified.
