Portland officials are mulling a proposal to ban daytime homeless camps in most public spaces as the West Coast city struggles to get a handle on the ballooning number of people living on the streets. Homeless people would need to clear their camps every morning by 8 a.m., picking up all their belongings and trash before they could settle down again at 8 p.m., according to the proposal. The future of NBC's daytime soap Days of Our Lives is in doubt after the entire cast was released from their contracts. The 55-year-old drama — the longest-running entertainment show in NBC's history — will go on an indefinite hiatus at the end of November, although enough episodes have been banked to play out the rest of the 2019-20 season. President Obama is to become the first sitting U.S. president to take part in a daytime TV talk show. As his popularity among Americans fades he has agreed to appear of popular programme The View, where he will be quizzed by a panel of five women. Obama is appearing as part of the show's 'Red, White & View' series, which has featured prominent American politicians and discussions on current political issues.
