Portland officials are mulling a proposal to ban daytime homeless camps in most public spaces as the West Coast city struggles to get a handle on the ballooning number of people living on the streets. Homeless people would need to clear their camps every morning by 8 a.m., picking up all their belongings and trash before they could settle down again at 8 p.m., according to the proposal. The ban would extend to city parks, near schools, day cares, construction sites and some sidewalks, according to the plan brought forward by Mayor Ted Wheeler. “There are currently hundreds of unsanctioned,...

The long-running daytime soap's future is in flux, though it will continue airing for the remainder of the current season. The future of NBC's daytime soap Days of Our Lives is in doubt after the entire cast was released from their contracts. The 55-year-old drama — the longest-running entertainment show in NBC's history — will go on an indefinite hiatus at the end of November, although enough episodes have been banked to play out the rest of the 2019-20 season. NBC and Sony Pictures TV, which distributes the show, declined comment. Calls to producer Corday Productions were not returned. Corday,...

Opinionated talk is big business on cable news networks when the sun goes down. During the day, though, it's the opposite. MSNBC is shuffling its daytime lineup early next year because its strategy of spreading personality-driven programming throughout the schedule isn't working. The new approach will emphasize a fast-paced review of the day's big stories as they break.

Have pity on Barbara Walters. Barbara Walters is, after all, Barbara Walters. And Barbara Walters should not be made to suffer the gross indignity of flying in first class while a common woman breast-feeds her baby. Barbara Walters for those few of you left on the remote islands of Fiji who don't know who she is is a world-famous, Very Important Person. She has, according to her official bio, "arguably interviewed more statesmen and stars than any other journalist in history. She is so well known that her name and a brief biography is (sic) listed in the American Heritage...

You know things are really getting out of hand when TV hostess Oprah Winfrey decides to go jihad. Yes, Oprah, the waddling guru of the bored middle-class at-home housewives, has repeatedly taken time off from teaching her followers about closet organization and thigh reduction, in order to promote the Palestinian cause. She has run one-sided articles about the Middle East conflict on her show and and in her O Magazine. Whenever the subject of terrorism is broached on her show, Oprah studiously avoids allowing anyone to link it to Palestinians or the Hizbollah. She interviewed mothers of suicide bombers who...

The Laura Ingraham Radio Show | 01/21/03 | Self
I heard this evening on Laura Ingraham's radio show that she is going to be on ABC"s "The View" on Wednesday, January 22, 2003. This ought to be interesting. I work graveyard shifts and sleep during the daytime, so I may miss it. I thought fans of Laura, of which she has on here, would like to know. No, I do not have a picture of her to post, but someone else can if they want. The time is 10 am Central Time here in Houston, so you can adjust the time according to where you live. Brad
