The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering a range of military actions against North Korea, says Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Cruz made the remarks on Wednesday night, after attending a "long and detailed" private meeting at the White House, where all 100 members of the Senate were invited to discuss tensions with North Korea. "The military is obviously planning for a number of options, as they should - minimal military action to more significant action," said Cruz, who ran a failed presidential campaign against Trump last year.

"Jerry" Boykin says '[Islam] should not be protected under the First Amendment,' there should be 'no mosques in America' The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to drop designated hate group leader Frank Gaffney Jr., retired Lieutenant General William G. "Jerry" Boykin and other Islamophobes as foreign policy advisers. Ted Cruz's new team of foreign policy advisers includes several fringe conservative activists and fervid anti-Islamist hardliners — but few of the GOP establishment elites who are outraged over the rise of Donald Trump. Cruz's list of nearly two dozen names includes Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., a former Reagan Pentagon official whose focus on the influence of Islam in the U.S. has drawn charges of bigotry. In June 2009, Gaffney claimed there was "mounting evidence" that President Barack Obama "not only identifies with Muslims, but actually may still be one himself."

(CNN)--How much does Lindsey Graham dislike Ted Cruz? Count the ways. On the question of foreign policy, the Texas senator is "just as wrong as Obama, if not worse," Graham told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Thursday. "In Ted Cruz's world, dictators do very well," he continued, comparing his colleague's foreign policy to that of Ron Paul, the former congressman, Republican presidential candidate and long-time leading libertarian. Asked why his fellow senators are reputed to have such a distaste for Cruz, Graham accused the winner of the Iowa GOP caucuses of being an "opportunist" to his core -- one who "gets...
