An assault at The Great Frederick Fair that ultimately led to a man’s death sparked questions about why the two teenage brothers allegedly involved were charged as juveniles. The two brothers — one 15, one 16 — could not automatically be charged as adults under Maryland law, Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith said at a press conference Monday. “I can tell you, I don’t make the law,” Smith said. “I just prosecute people who break it.” The 15-year-old was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, and the 16-year-old was charged with second-degree assault in the death...

Trump attorney Jay Sekulow on Friday’s “Fox & Friends” commented on the “whistleblower” complaint alleging President Donald Trump urged Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to probe former Vice President Joe Biden. Sekulow called the probe into alleged Trump wrongdoing a “faux investigation” over something that would not be admitted in court, hinting at a conspiracy because the complaint appears to have been “written by a law firm.”

A few years ago, California passed one in a series of bills aimed at emptying the jails and prisons. Proposition 47carried the disingenuous name of “the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act and its stated purpose was to keep non-violent offenders out of jail. To achieve this goal, the state decriminalized a number of lesser offenses, including retail theft. The law raised the value of the amount of merchandise someone could steal while still only being charged with a misdemeanor to nearly one thousand dollars. To the great surprise of the government, people noticed this change and began taking advantage of it. They...

Joe Biden's family ties to an influence peddling scheme at a Ukrainian gas company could hurt the former vice president's 2020 campaign, political scientist Ian Bremmer told CNN on Tuesday. "[Joe] Biden does have a problem here. I have to say $50,000 a month for Hunter Biden—clearly to be selling influence because otherwise, no one would ever pay him that kind of money—for a company that, frankly, was pretty corrupt and has been before and has been since under investigation," Bremmer said. Bremmer is president of Eurasia Group and Time magazine editor at large. He told CNN's New Day Hunter...

Joe Biden and John Kerry became close while serving in the US Senate. So their sons going into business together in June 2009 was not exactly a bolt out of the blue. But with whom their sons cut lucrative deals while the elders were steering the ship of state is more of a surprise. Hunter Biden and Christopher Heinz, the stepson of the chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations (later to be secretary of state), created an international private equity firm, anchored by the Heinz family investment fund, Rosemont Capital. The firm was populated by political loyalists and...

Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden gave an interview to the New Yorker this week and spoke very candidly about his drug and alcohol abuse and also about his foreign dealings while his daddy was the Vice President of the United States. In a shocking admission, Hunter Biden, 49, told the New Yorker that he once accepted a diamond bribe from a shady Chinese business tycoon in exchange for his powerful contacts in the US. The 2.8-carat diamond was reportedly worth $80,000 and was sent to Hunter in 2016 in exchange for help making contacts in the liquefied-natural-gas industry in the...

As authorities followed the boat, it made an abrupt turn back toward Fajardo, on the east coast of Puerto Rico, and landed near the Rio Fajardo. Occupants in the vessel could be seen unloading bags, according to the press release. As agents closed in, they fled...

At their third primary debate, nearly all of the Democratic presidential contenders offered full-throated support for gun control. In the very recent past, gun control measures bowed to prudence by respecting the rights and expectations of law-abiding gun owners—even the Clinton “assault weapons ban” grandfathered weapons and magazines manufactured and purchased before the ban took effect. Now, however, the rhetoric has shifted and become even more radical and uncompromising. ,,, The Democrats’ emphasis on gun control shifts the focus away from other dimensions of violent crime. The vast majority of so-called gun violence is just another type of violence, including...

Following a violent crime spree in Minneapolis, Lt. Bob Kroll blamed the city's "ultra-left agenda" for emboldening criminals and claimed the city council refuses to provide them with the extra police they need to keep the community safe. "The city council... ran on an anti-police agenda and they all made it. It's ultra-left. It's been [an] extreme Democrat-controlled council," he said on "Fox & Friends" Thursday. "It's been that way for 22 years. And [the mayor] didn't think he could get a larger number [of cops] through." "It's an ultra-left agenda that the police are the problem," Kroll added. "[They...
