Did you watch Hillary Clinton’s testimony before the House Select Committee on Benghazi? If you did you should get a colonoscopy soon, because in those 11 hours you had enough smoke blown up there to give colon cancer to everyone in the country. If we had an honest media, the headlines Friday would have been about how the former secretary of state and current Democratic Party front-runner for president was caught lying to the American public about the cause of the Benghazi attack. Headlines would scream of how Hillary Clinton said one thing in private – to her daughter, the...

Happy National Hate Week! Today, we're all hating on Indiana. Who will be the left's Emmanuel Goldstein next week? Evidently, the sole function of the media these days is to subject the public to a steady stream of manufactured events: "Hands Up, Don't Shoot"; nuclear power kills; Lena Dunham's rape by a college conservative at Oberlin; the "mattress girl" raped at Columbia University; Jon Stewart is funny; a fraternity gang-rape at the University of Virginia; and a law protecting religious freedom will lead to separate water fountains for gays in Indiana. In January of 2014, award-winning investigative journalist for NBC News Lisa Meyers announced she was leaving the network after thirty-three years—supposedly to work on her golf game. However, an interview this week with the Des Moines Register gave credence to the speculation that she left because network news no longer wanted to upset the White House and other politicians. […] Meyers has made similar charges in the past: months before she left NBC, Newsbusters reported about a Meyers appearance where she called the press one of Obama’s most important constituencies. …

In a scandalous example of corrupt media supporting the Obama agenda, a mainstream newspaper reporter simultaneously wrote “objective news” about the First Lady’s contentious public school lunch program while secretly promoting it for a district, a Judicial Watch probe has found. It involves a small public school district in Weston Wisconsin. Last month a student at the high school, D.C. ABC News is being accused of deceptively editing, or at least misrepresenting (intentionally or not), some of the comments made by Juror B29, the lone “nonwhite” juror in the George Zimmerman murder trial. Further, the media as a whole are being accused of manipulating some of her statements. These allegations come not from a conservative news source, but rather from The key phrase latched onto by most media outlets, due to its sensational nature, was “George Zimmerman got away with murder” — words that were, in fact, said by Juror B29. The story fed to the press would outrage anyone…and, predictably, it outraged everyone. The family provided a picture of Trayvon at age 12 or 13, which the media ran with the ugliest picture of Zimmerman they could find. The meme of a huge armed adult “stalking” a “helpless child” was born fully grown, to a Godzilla-like size. It loomed over America unopposed. The investigating officers and the State’s Attorney’s Office knew that the evidence showed something else: Zimmerman attacked by Martin, who towered over him, beat him to the ground, clearly smacked his head into the concrete, and might have...

Everything I initially wrote about the Trayvon Martin killing was based on network news reports. And it was almost entirely wrong. In my KOMO radio commentary of March 23, 2012, I said the following about the killing of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman: “Thinking of 17-year old Trayvon the way we’d think of our own kids is exactly how to view this tragedy. The man who police say shot him, George Zimmerman, is a 28-year old CrimeWatch volunteer, who apparently did just about everything a Crimewatch volunteer SHOULDN’T do, such as following the 17 year old teen when a 911...

In the George Zimmerman trial on Wednesday, witness Jeannee Manalo testified that she heard “howling” sounds in her living room. Later, she said, she heard cries for help and a struggle, presumably between Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin. She saw two people on the ground, she explained, but didn’t know who was on top. She then testified that she thought based on body size that Zimmerman was on top. On cross-examination, however, she revealed that she based her estimate of body size on media photos which showed Martin as a 12-year-old. In reality, Martin was 17 years old, and in the...

With every passing Iraqi death we lose another piece of our humanity. How can we or Washington justify the mass murder of thousands? The desperate attempt of government officials to brand the Iraqi insurgency with al-Qaida is part of a deliberate misinformation campaign aimed at dissuading the American public from demanding an end to the Iraq war. ~~ snip ~~ Shortly after 9/11, the Bush administration realized it had a serious problem: Decades of U.S. foreign policy aimed at pillaging other countries’ resources had sparked an abiding sense of resentment and anger among the world’s masses. With the stark reality...

EDEN — Dave Matthews isn’t Emma Burgin’s favorite band, so the Greensboro woman was surprised when her photo appeared in The Reidsville Review with a comment, attributed to her, saying that it was. She was surprised because no one at the newspaper ever interviewed her. Burgin’s photo, and photos of some other young people who have appeared in the newspaper, were copied from, a college social networking Web site. Burgin is one of at least six people — none of whom live in Rockingham County — whose photos appeared in the newspaper’s daily man-on-the-street feature, “Two Cents Worth,” during...

They scouted the streets. They took photographs. They wrote detailed surveillance reports. And then, after five years of patiently waiting, Al Qaeda operatives carried out the devastating suicide truck bombing at the American Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, in August 1998, killing more than 200 people and injuring thousands. This meticulous approach to terrorism — studying targets and fine-tuning strategies for years before an attack — is in part why officials in Washington say they are so alarmed about the latest evidence of reconnaissance of financial centers in New York, New Jersey and Washington, even though much of the information dates...

The Metrowest Daily News sent a reporter to my daughter's summer day camp program for an article on kids' political views. My daughter was was asked what she would tell the president, and is quoted in the article as telling him to "stop the bad guys from killing the fish," even though I'm told by the counselors that she actually told the president to "stop taking my daddy's money." Here is the letter I wrote to the editor. It appears you misquoted my 5-year-old daughter in your otherwise charming Sunday (7/25/04) article, “Taking the Political Pulse of Children.” Asked by...

At least 28 senior-level federal employees in eight agencies have bogus college degrees, including three managers at the office that oversees nuclear weapons safety, congressional investigators have found. The problem is likely even bigger, mainly because the government has no uniform way to check whether employees' alma maters are diploma mills that require little, if any, academic work, the General Accounting Office reported. The names of the 28 senior-level workers have been forwarded to the offices of the inspectors general in their agencies for review. -- ASSOCIATED PRESS
  • Jimmy Breslin: Accuracy-challenged: Les Kinsolving whacks columnist for making up quotes

In May of 1990, Newsday's syndicated columnist Jimmy Breslin received an e-mail criticizing one of his columns as "sexist." That so outraged Mr. Breslin that he denounced the sender, a female Korean-American reporter, as a yellow, slant-eyed cur. And he went on the Howard Stern filth show to further discuss his displeasure. Newsday, Long Island's daily newspaper, which at one time had a New York City edition, suspended Breslin for two weeks without pay, even though he apologized to the young reporter. They should have fired this New York thug who has now been charged with fabricating quotes in order...

Watergate Anniversary Doesn't Measure Up The media's celebration of the Watergate scandal's 30th anniversary got a rousing kickoff on Sunday from the Washington Post's Bob Woodward, who told NBC's "Meet the Press": "(Nixon) was a criminal president - but not only was he a criminal president, the investigations and the records showed that he had criminal intent in the White House. He would say to his aides.... (you should) lie to the grand jury, pay hush money to the burglars, abuse the FBI and the IRS....." Nixon-hating moldy-oldy Carl Bernstein, Woodward's partner in their glory days, contended that the 37th...
