As MMOs Continue to Grow Leaving Old Areas Behind, Gaming Archaeology has Risen Up to Explore and Remember their Past.MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars have been going strong for years now continually growing their player base and the areas open to them. They’ve become so large that the games have taken on the same traits as real world cultures. As they continue to grow the community moves to new areas, new hub cities, leaving the old ones behind. Just as real world cities are abandoned and forgotten old hub cities in MMOs are quickly forgotten. Yet...

FRiends, it's time to end this quarter's FReepathon so that we might have more time to talk with one another, discuss the issues, vet the candidates and also do the silly stuff that makes us laugh. If you aren't currently a monthly donor, please consider becoming one. Perhaps dedicate your donation to a loved one, whether still with us or already gone, human or pet. Or dedicate it to the folks who served or have served in our armed forces. Why you donate is up to you. That you donate benefits us all. Thanks for listening.

  • Can Amazon Be An Online Price Club That Tempts Vending Operators?

Amazon.com, a leader in the world of online retailing, is making waves due to the recent launch of Amazon Business, a new marketplace on Amazon.com that combines the selection, convenience and value with new features and unique benefits tailored to businesses. It was one of the reasons Amazon had a booth at the NAMA OneShow last week in Las Vegas, NV. I stopped in while walking the show and talked to the representatives. They were announcing the Amazon Business opportunity and gauging the interest from operators. From what I’ve seen so far, while Amazon Business is in its early stages,...
  • Tolerance? Liberals want to kill conservatives

The immediacy of social media, particularly Twitter and Facebook, offers us a window into the prejudices of others that is unprecedented in the history of our society. Not a day passes in the United States when some person does not commit career suicide, achieve viral fame, or both by posting to Twitter or Facebook. A hundred and forty characters or less can make a hero or freshly mint a villain. All it takes is an ill-chosen word or, perhaps more accurately, a moment of honesty. We are all creatures of prejudice to one degree or another; we all harbor likes,...
  • Can archived computer files be faked with respect to date and content?

Question for all freeper computer experts. I have a case where I have reason to believe that my opponent has faked the date and content of a website as it appeared in January through April 2011. I have used the way back machine and found that my opponent did not the information that they claimed to have had on the website between January to April 2011. I have not yet received any paperwork or computer file from my opponent. But when I do get the computer file, could it be faked with respect to the date and content? What would...

  • Kristol Clear Straw Poll: Walker 30%, Cruz 24%, Rubio 18%

Bill Kristol writes in this week's newsletter: About 7,500 votes were cast in The Weekly Standard's third presidential poll of the year, twice as many as in the poll a couple of months ago. In that straw poll (and, to repeat, these are obviously not scientific surveys, but rather polls of those who chose to participate), Scott Walker, was far ahead, with almost half the first place votes. He still leads, but has come back to the field some. He's got 30% of the first place ballots, and appears on an impressive 69% of all ballots as a first, second...

GoFundMe has determined that if Christians are accused of crimes, such as not baking cakes for gay weddings, they will not be able to use their service. It appears that gay activists have objected to a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to keep the Sweet Cakes bakery in business or pay the fine, which could be as high as $150,000, for declining to bake a cake for a gay wedding. It is, of course, the right of GoFundMe to deny service to anyone – even as Sweet Cakes is denied the same right – but it leaves a market for...

    American Thinker ^ | April 24, 2015 | Mark J. Fitzgibbons
Today Americans live in a soft police state. We may not sense its severity and doom like runaway slaves or Anne Frank, but the freedoms of the greatest number of Americans have never been more threatened and violated institutionally -- both openly and secretively -- by our own government. The Fourth Amendment, which is the law limiting government power to search and seize our persons and most private property, has been gutted by executive and administrative actions, Congress, and the courts -- the very bodies that were supposed to enforce it on government. This American Bill of Right is based...
  • A 4D Printed Valve That Actuates According to Water Temperature

It may seem a touch misleading in name, but scientists at the University of Wollongong say they’re creating what they call 4D printing. The fourth dimension they refer to is time and shape shifting as the researchers have begun to develop 3D printed materials capable of morphing into new structures – post production – as those materials are influenced by the addition of external stimuli such as water or heat. The team at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science say these new materials are able to transform themselves from one shape into another, and they see applications for...

The government is Google, and Google is the government It was a mainstream media asking no questions that inflicted a Marxist president on an unsuspecting West in 2008, but it is Google that is keeping him there, and Google which is making the election of Hillary Clinton in 2016 all but inevitable. As much as half of the U.S. population so fervently wishes otherwise, America-hating Marxists in office are there to stay, courtesy of the airtight power bestowed upon them by the most arrogant, powerful and influential company on earth: Google. In an upside-down world, fraught with government-designed false flags...

In a brilliant tweet, the horror master perfectly sums up the state of the 2016 presidential race. Stephen King has unloaded on the Republican presidential field on Twitter — the horror master’s latest dive into savvy GOP bashing. This tweet takes on the nightmare that is the current field of right-wing senators Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. Stephen King ✔ @StephenKing Cruz, Paul and Rubio, all running for President. Hey, I thought I was supposed to write the horror stories. 2:25 PM - 16 Apr 2015 In recent weeks, King has jumped into the debate over Indiana’s religious...

My notebook computer is dying and needs replacement. I like the idea of replacing it with a tablet/laptop hybrid, as I can think of a number of ways to make my life more productive if I could use both. I go out to jobsites and gather information on paper, then bring it back and enter it into the computer and produce reports. Seems to me the info could be entered into a tablet and skip a step. I also do a fair bit of work with graphics and such, but for that I normally hook up to a large monitor...

Hillary? Rand Paul? Ted Cruz? Marco Rubio? Four major candidates have stepped forward to run for the Democratic and Republican nominations for president, and a few more are sure to follow soon. Their entrances into the race couldn’t be more different. Republicans Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz went the more traditional route with kickoff events. Hillary Rodham Clinton went big on social with a much anticipated video and tweet combination, but is keeping events low-key to start – except for a Monday evening visit to Chipotle. So who’s winning the media battle at this very early stage? Take...

The jury’s still out on where Barack Obama was born, but a new squeaky clean, shrill-less Hillary Clinton is about to be re-birthed by mighty Google. The jury’s still out on where Barack Obama was born, but a new squeaky clean, shrill-less Hillary Clinton is about to be re-birthed by mighty Google. Seven years ago the Democrats gave America a Manchurian candidate presented from faux Greek columns as the world’s new messiah. Obama and his manufacturers promised the Fundamental Transformation of America, but went out to fundamentally transform the Free West while they were at it.

The Long Island-based hedge-fund magnate who is helping bankroll Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign for the Republican nomination is also one of the top investors in the Breitbart News Network, sources with knowledge of the matter told the On Media blog on Monday. Robert Mercer, the co-CEO of hedge fund Renaissance Technologies, is the main donor behind a network of pro-Cruz super PACs that have raised at least $31 million to date, according to a recent New York Times report. Mercer has spent more than $15 million on conservative political campaigns and causes since 2012. What the Times report did not...

Evidence that Russian computer hackers penetrated security at the White House and State Department was brushed aside by National Security Council spokesman Mark Stroh. “Since the Administration has no hostile designs on Russia we don’t consider their gaining access to confidential correspondence at the State Department or White House a threat to our security,” Stroh maintained. “In a way, this could be a good thing. They will see that we bear them no ill will. That could open up new avenues for better relations between our two countries.” “It would be far more worrisome if our correspondence had been illicitly...

Who would you vote for if the 2016 Presidential Election were held today? Ahh … its time for another Presidential election already, and voters are either passionate or apathetic once again! To date, three candidates have entered the Presidential race: Hillary Clinton, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz. If the election were held today, who would YOU vote for? To help, here’s some campaign videos of today’s limited trio. The name are listed in alphabetical order. But if you’re a conspiracy theorist, its because we secretly support Hillary Clinton and though that was an excuse. Or … if your a conspiracy...
