United Nations (United States) (AFP) - Robert Redford told the United Nations on Monday that negotiations on a global deal to tackle climate change could be the world's "last chance" to save the planet. "This December, the world must unite behind a common goal," said the American actor and producer. "Because look, this is it. This is our only planet, our only life source. "This may be our last chance." World governments will try to forge a new global accord to address climate change at a UN climate conference in Paris in December, with both developed and developing countries committing...

Editor's note: This column was co-authored by Tom TamarkinElon Musk and his fellow barons of Climate Crisis, Inc. recently got a huge boost from Pope Francis. Musk et al. say fossil fuels are causing unprecedented warming and weather disasters. The Pope agrees and says Catholics must “ask God for a positive outcome” to negotiations over another UN climate treaty. It matters not that the predicted calamities are not happening. There has been no warming in 19 years, no category 3-5 hurricanes making US landfall for a record 9-1/2 years, indeed none of the over-hyped climate disasters occurring in the real...

Really, really complicated talk on pressure systems, the dust coming off the west coast of Africa, the El Nińo, the JMO. It's more like a college lecture than a weather report. Indulge. Learn.

Climate experts warn the amount of light and warmth released by the sun is nosediving to levels "not seen for centuries". They fear a repeat of the so-called 'Maunder Minimum' which triggered Arctic winter whiteouts and led to the River Thames freezing 300 years ago. The Met Office-led study warns although the effect will be offset by recent global warming, Britain faces years of unusually cold winters. A spokesman said: "A return to low solar activity not seen for centuries could increase the chances of cold winters in Europe and eastern parts of the United States but wouldn't halt global...

So dedicated is Schellnhuber to this belief that he says “the Gaia approach may even include the influence of biospheric activities on the Earth’s plate-tectonic processes.” Not the other way around, mind you, where continental drift and earthquakes effects life, but where life effects earthquakes...

When it comes to energy supplies — and therefore carbon dioxide emissions and climate change — who are you going to believe? Pope Francis, or BP? Whether you love the pope and hate BP, or vice versa, doesn’t matter. What matters when discussing energy availability, climate change, and poverty are hard numbers and simple math. And the latest edition of BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy, which was released eight days before Pope Francis issued his encyclical on climate change, is chockfull of numbers that expose the pope’s failed climate math. Indeed, an analysis of the two documents reveals the...

Long-term global warming will have a deflating effect on bread, and a “2050 loaf” will be crumpled and small due a reduction in the amount of protein in grains, Australian scientists have found.

Most non-Catholics and many Catholics think the Pope is always infallible according to Catholic teaching. This is not true; he must be speaking on a matter of Faith and Morals and then only Ex Cathedra God created poverty. This proposition, while demonstrably true, is guaranteed to bring guffaws and cries of outrage from the religious Left, but it is true nonetheless. It hearkens back to the curse of Man in Genesis: “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for...

Economic freedom, individual liberties must not be sacrificed at the altar of religious or secular dogma, that climate change is an immediate existential crisis that can only be solved by top-down dictates and controlled wealth redistribution Pope Francis issued a lengthy encyclical last week calling for radical change in human behavior to confront climate change. He presented climate change as the moral issue of our time. “Humanity is called to recognize the need for changes of lifestyle, production and consumption, in order to combat this warming or at least the human causes which produce or aggravate it,” the pope declared....

Must see, Joe goes into the implications of the crash of the Southern Oscillation Index and the Madden-Julian Oscillation. Rain and cooling in the mid-west, hell on Earth west of the Rockies.

The sad truth is that under Francis, the papacy has drifted over from religion to politics; from the saving of souls to outright propagandizing. On an undeniable roll, man-made global warming/climate change activists can legitimately present the greatest coup in their decades-long history: The Pope, social media’s top public figure, has thrown in with them. In President Barack Obama’s ‘Brave New World’ world where transitioning over to genders and colours with which you weren’t born is a growing trend, Pope Francis is now the world’s prime global warming/climate change activist, in terms of Internet popularity, now bigger than Obama and...

From The Guardian: Pope Francis will this week call for changes in lifestyles and energy consumption to avert the “unprecedented destruction of the ecosystem” before the end of this century, according to a leaked draft of a papal encyclical. In a document released by an Italian magazine on Monday, the pontiff will warn that failure to act would have “grave consequences for all of us”.

Foul wind from the Vatican... Radical environmentalists have been waving ‘Save the Environment’ placards in society’s face for decades. As has long been the practice of the lib-left holier-than-thous, they climbed up on the soapbox where they continue to lecture the unwashed masses at every turn. Some time after the Peaceniks handed over their placards to them, the radical environmentalists gave up raging against pollution, which sorely needed raging against, renaming their battle the epic one against global warming, now climate change and then choosing “man-made” global warming as their chief clarion call. How activist pulses must be racing now...

The global climate agreement being negotiated this year must be worded in such a way that it doesn't require approval by the U.S. Congress, the French foreign minister said Monday. Laurent Fabius told African delegates at U.N. climate talks in Bonn that "we know the politics in the U.S. Whether we like it or not, if it comes to the Congress, they will refuse."

Arguing that "the threat of global climate change is the greatest crisis we have ever faced," Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-Conn) has called for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to employ the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act against those who dispute the threat. "Can we really afford to engage in debate when the world is literally melting right before our eyes?" Whitehouse wanted to know. "Those who try to insert feigned skepticism as a barrier to action are worse than jihadi terrorists. They are shills for the corrupt industries that profiteer off Americans' selfish addictions to comfort and mobility....

E-mails obtained from the Environmental Protection Agency show that Harvard University, Syracuse University and two of their researchers appear to have falsely claimed a study supporting EPA’s upcoming global warming rules was conducted “independent(ly)” of the agency. In early May, a study published in the journal Nature Climate Change purported to support a key EPA claim about its forthcoming global warming rules aimed at coal-fired power plants. The New York Times’ headline, “EPA Emissions Plan Will Save Thousands of Lives, Study Finds,” typified the media coverage.

Meanwhile, that little Noah and Amanda you sent off to school will be coming back home as another Al Gore The next generation of global warming-spouting Al Gore-type activists are already in training in America’s classrooms. The big lie called man-made global warming, birthed by the United Nations and lib-left world leaders out to make a fast buck in the impossible-to-fail money maker advanced on society by global warming/climate change, is here to stay. As permanent a fixture in modern society as career politicians and rising taxes, the future of global warming will be played forward by school children, who...
