The Hamilton County Prosecutor announced charges of voter fraud against three people. Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said he was pursuing charges against Russell Glassop, 75, Melowese Richardson, 59, and Sister Marguerite Kloos, 54. A grand jury indicted Glassop and Kloos for one count of illegal voting each, a felony. Glassop and Kloos could face up to 18 months in prison if convicted. The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/W41mWY ) reports that a federally licensed gun dealer showed up to provide some competition. He bought a dozen weapons for $40 to $100 by standing outside the church with a sign that read "Cash 4 Guns."

Democrat Melowese Richardson has been an official poll worker for the last quarter century and registered thousands of people to vote last year. She candidly admitted to Cincinnati’s Channel 9 this week that she voted twice in the last election. Richardson insists she has done nothing wrong and promises to contest the charges: “I’ll fight it for Mr. Obama and for Mr. Obama’s right to sit as president of the United States.”

Chicago has moved to the top spot of a list no city wants to be a part of: the most treatments for bed bug infestations. This statewide effort began Friday at the president’s stop in Hillard and continued at Springfield and Lima (see post). He was met at every location with a traveling caravan of those of us from Cincinnati as well as local liberty groups and IT IS WORKING. The government says a 20-year prison sentence for a woman who committed arson at Michigan State University would be the toughest punishment ever in a case of so-called eco-terrorism. Marie Mason is due in federal court at 9 a.m. today. The explosion and fire at Michigan State's Agriculture Hall in 1999 was a protest against genetically modified crops. Damage exceeded $1 million. Prosecutors want a 20-year prison sentence for the 47-year-old Cincinnati woman. Mason's lawyer says that would be extreme. Mason has admitted other acts from 1999 through 2003, including fires at homes under construction in southeastern Michigan and Indiana....

A federal court judge sentenced the former president of the Cincinnati Organized and Dedicated Employees union to more than four years in prison, Local 12 reported. Diana Frey pleaded guilty to stealing more than $750,000 from the union that covers mid-level managers in Cincinnati government. Frey has 60 days to report to prison. She has already repaid a small amount, but the court ordered Frey to repay the remaining $740,000 she embezzled. Prosecutors said Frey took money from three union accounts and used it to support a “more lavish lifestyle than she otherwise could afford.” Frey was also sentenced to...

CINCINNATI -- Former reliever Pedro Borbon, the Reds' all-time leader in appearances and a member of two World Series championship teams, died on Monday. Borbon was 65 years old. Borbon was a key figure in the Reds' bullpen from 1970-79 -- when he appeared in more games than any pitcher in the NL. He broke into the Majors in 1969 with the Angels and spent the final two seasons of his career with the Giants and Cardinals. Over his 10 seasons in Cincinnati, the right-handed Borbon was 62-33 with a 3.32 ERA and 76 saves in a club-record 531 games....
