Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Charles "Chuck" Yeager, the World War II fighter pilot ace and quintessential test pilot who showed he had the "right stuff" when in 1947 he became the first person to fly faster than sound, has died. He was 97. Yeager died Monday, his wife, Victoria Yeager, said on his Twitter account. "It is w/ profound sorrow, I must tell you that my life love General Chuck Yeager passed just before 9pm ET. An incredible life well lived, America's greatest Pilot, & a legacy of strength, adventure, & patriotism will be remembered forever." Yeager's death is...

Buzz Aldrin appeared to criticize Neil Armstrong biopic First Man for leaving out the planting of the American flag on the Moon. The 88-year-old, who was the second man to set foot on the Moon, on Sunday tweeted a picture of the flag planted after their landing in 1969. He captioned the photo: 'Proud to be an American.' Aldrin also re-tweeted a photo of him saluting next to the same picture. It is an apparent dig at Oscar-winning director Damian Chazelle's decision not to include the planting of the flag on the Moon at the end of his critically acclaimed...

It a complete disgrace that an American movie refuses to recognize such an American triumph, but, instead, has sacrificed it on the altar of political correctness and globalism On October 12, a new movie, First Man, will debut in theaters across the United States. Already it is highly anticipated, and some critics believe it will be a contender for a variety of Oscar nominations. It received very positive reviews from attendees at the Venice Film Festival. Unfortunately, the much-ballyhooed movie is not historically accurate.

...just more of the same anti-American crap.... The late Neil Armstrong’s 1969 trip to the moon may have been “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” but it was also a massive achievement for the United States. One of Armstrong’s first orders of business was to proudly plant the American flag, after all. But Ryan Gosling, the Canadian actor who plays Armstrong in “First Man,” Hollywood’s rendition of the moon landing, told the Telegraph the magic moment was intentionally omitted from the big screen because Armstrong’s achievement “transcended countries and borders.” ...More at link:

Hollywood’s portrayal of astronaut Neil Armstrong in the biopic “First Man” was quick to elicit the attention on Friday of aviation legend Gen. Chuck Yeager. Social media platforms lit up before the weekend as news spread that Ryan Gosling’s latest film does not include the American flag being planted on the moon. Critics fretted that “First Man” would essentially turn Mr. Armstrong into a progressive caricature when Mr. Yeager, 95, weighed in. “Ryan Gosling is coming out with the movie First Man where it portrays Neil Armstrong as a liberal progressive anti-Trump (in spirit) non-flag waiver,” a user identified as...

Donald Trump's entire life has been made up of success and winning. He's a fighter that clearly loves America and would fight for our nation. Earlier I quoted Trump saying "I love America. And when you love something, you pro- tect it passionately--fiercely, even." We never hear that from Democrats or even from most Republicans. Donald Trump is saying things that desperately need to be said but no other candidate has shown the fortitude to stand up and say them. The criticisms of Trump are amazingly missing something. They are lacking in negative stories from those who work for him...

Over the last couple months I have been bringing books, two sackfuls at a time to Maxwell’s House Of Books in exchange for store credit. So far, my schlepping of about 70 books has yielded a credit of $38. Yesterday I gobbled up twenty of it so I could own a copy of Duncan L. Hunter‘s new book, Victory In Iraq: How America Won. Why? Because that’s a great title and because Hunter was going to be in La Mesa, at Maxwell’s signing copies. The photo above shows Hunter signing my actual book. After he signed it we chatted for...

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - Chuck Yeager says Virgin America used his name without permission in a mass mailer advertising its in-flight WiFi service. Yeager, 86, the first pilot to break the sound barrier, seeks punitive damages for unjust enrichment and violation of his publicity rights. In his Superior Court complaint, Yeager cites a Virgin press release that he says was "widely distributed ... to several thousand people - if not hundreds of thousands of people." It states, in part: "Not unlike Buzz Aldrin or Chuck Yeager, you have the opportunity to be a part of a monumental moment in...

MANCHESTER – Chuck Yeager says Duncan Hunter has "The Right Stuff." So when the Republican's supporters felt wronged that their candidate was excluded from recent debates, the aviation legend took action. He teamed up with former U.S. Sen. Bob Smith, R-N.H., on Saturday to host a radio talk show for Hunter in an effort to reach thousands of likely voters. "Duncan is the only one I know who is running for President who is not trying to buy his way into the White House," Yeager said in a telephone interview last night from his home in California. Hunter, a congressman...

This is the single most defining difference between Duncan Hunter and the rest of the so-called "top tier" candidates. Duncan Hunter stands alone in his ability to endure close scrutiny of his past record. In complete contrast to the rest of the "top tier," America can be sure that the more it learns about Duncan Hunter, the more it will revere and respect him. As a leading force who has been devoted to the good of the nation throughout his public life, he needs and deserves the country's enthusiastic support.

Sixty years ago today, the first sharp crack of a sonic boom echoed over the Mojave Desert, signaling man's successful assault on the sound barrier. At the controls of the pumpkin-orange Bell X-1 aircraft, dubbed "Glamourous Glennis" after his wife, sat Capt. Charles E. Yeager, a West Virginian with a high school education, a dozen enemy kills in World War II and a growing reputation as a top-notch test pilot. The flight marked a milestone in aviation history, ushering in a new era of supersonic flight and putting the remote flight test facility at what is now known as Edwards...
