MEEEEEEE!!!!! Okay, we get it, Chuck Todd. You are the new host of Meet The Press but does that mean you will now hog every interview? After all, the president of NBC News, Deborah Turness, promised a return to the original format of MTP in which the guests would be interviewed by a panel, not just the host. Therefore your humble correspondent was disappointed when he watched Chuck interview the guests solo today while the panel merely chit chatted among themselves. Here is the unkept promise of a MTP format change made by Turness:

Hoo-wee! This is shaping up to be a very long, hard week. We started with F. Chuck on Meet the Press: Care to enjoy one of those special Oval Office cigars? Sure Chief! Don’t mind if I do…And tonight, the handlers have decided that Barry will finally Face the Nation and present something that will have to pass for a thought on the existential threat presented by ISIS. Don’t expect anything too definitive, like condemnation of the Evil Empire, butt I understand there will be harsh words followed by some presidential stompy foot. You have displeased me. Harsh letter to...

Sunday on NBC´s "Meet The Press," host Chuck Todd took President Barack Obama to task for the optics of going golfing moments after his statement on ISIS beheading journalist James Foley. Obama complained during his vacations he would "love" not to be followed by the press. “You know, it is always a challenge when you’re supposed to be on vacation, because you’re followed everywhere, part of what I would love is a vacation from the press," Obama said. The president did take some responsibility saying, “But there’s no doubt that after having talked to the families, where it was hard...

---------------------------------------------------------------------SNIP------------------------------------------ CHUCK TODD: Yeah, you want us to stop following you. I promise you, in two and a half years I think that'll happen. PRES. OBAMA: Because the possibility of a jarring contrast given the world's news, there's always going to be some tough news somewhere, it's going to be there. But there's no doubt that after having talked to the families, where it was hard for me to hold back tears listening to the pain that they were going through after the statement that I made, that I should've anticipated the optics. That's part of the job. And I...

Good Morning: I’ve got the Chucky Cheese interview; abridged and annotated. You’re welcome. President Obama in an interview broadcast Sunday said he “should have anticipated the optics” of golfing after a statement condemning the execution of American journalist James Foley.Someone else who never quite understood the importance of optics: Chucky’s MTP predecessor Yes he was upset with himself, he’s usually so good with the optics. “It is always a challenge when you’re supposed to be President on vacation,” Obama said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” I KNOW! Between the fundraising, the concerts, the golf, the parties, the date nights, the...

On his debut as NBC 'Meet the Press' host 9/7/2014, Chuck Todd grills President Obama: - Are you preparing the country to go back to war? - You realize you're giving that speech (Wednesday) the day before the 13th anniversary of 9/11. - ISIS is not a JV team. Was that bad intelligence or your misjudgment? - You've ruled out boots on the ground. And I'm curious, have you only ruled them out simply for domestic political reasons? Or is there another reason you've ruled out American boots on the ground? Because your own-- your own guys have said, "You...

Chuck Todd recently told the Washington Post that in his role as new Meet The Press moderator, rather than spouting the conventional wisdom of the East Coast journalistic elites, "my job is to channel that frustration of the rest of America.” So when interviewing President Obama about his intention to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, you'd think he might have asked about the tens of thousands of criminal illegal immigrants that his administration released last year, or whether he planned to accept the invitation from the father of a man killed by an illegal immigrant to visit his...

US President Barack Obama admitted he should have expected to be criticized for hitting the links on the same day that he addressed the beheading of American journalist James Foley and spoke with his family. ´Part of this job is also the theater of it,´ he told NBC News´ Chuck Todd. ´Well, it´s not something that always comes naturally to me. But it matters. And I´m mindful of that.´ He added: ´I should have anticipated the optics´ of playing golf. Obama, who was on vacation at the time of Foley´s murder, was heavily criticized for heading to the golf course

Within minutes of addressing the nation following the Islamic State’s brutal beheading of American journalist James Foley, President Barack Obama had resumed his August vacation on the golf course. More than a few observers, even the president’s supporters, said that the decision to continue golfing immediately after announcing to the country that ISIS had executed what administration would later call a “terrorist attack” on the United States was unwise. On Sunday, Obama acknowledged that he had erred, not only in seeming detached but also in failing to consider the “optics” associated with appearing callous and disinterested in the wake of...

President Barack Obama said Sunday it's time for the U.S. to "start going on some offense" against the group calling itself the Islamic State (also ISIS or ISIL), saying he would make an address to the nation Wednesday about his "game plan" going forward. "On Wednesday, I'll make a speech and describe what our game plan's going to be going forward," Obama said Sunday during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press." "I'm preparing the country to make sure that we deal with a threat from ISIL." Continuing his amped-up rhetoric of the past few days, Obama said the goal...

Washington (AFP) - US President Barack Obama now admits that his decision to play a vacation round of golf immediately after addressing the murder of US journalist James Foley by Islamic State, was a mistake. "I should have anticipated the optics," Obama said in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. The president said that he had been forced to hold back tears when he spoke privately to the family of Foley, who was beheaded, but added that there was always the prospect of a "jarring" contrast between world events, and his own efforts to carve out a...

President Obama said he plans to address the nation on the threat posed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on Wednesday, vowing to "hunt down" the terrorists. Obama said in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" that the U.S. will track down ISIS "wherever they are." “What I'm going to be asking the American people to understand is, number one, this is a serious threat,” Obama said about the Wednesday speech. “Number two, we have the capacity to deal with it.” “This is not the equivalent of the Iraq war,” Obama says, emphasizing he won’t advocate...

News broke this week that Luke Russert, son of the late Tim Russert, will be a regular part of the “revamped” Meet The Press starting today. He’s 29, has worked for NBC News since graduating college, and…that’s about it. His last name is the only qualification he possesses for joining the “team” of the longest running show on television. If this, and the other personnel decisions that have been announced, is NBC’s plan to save the once-great show, Meet The Press is screwed. The new host, Chuck Todd, is a fine choice. But that’s just one piece of the puzzle....

Psst! Psst! Listen carefully to the questions whispered into your earpieces all you Sunday news show hosts out there. Forget about who is the new host of Meet The Press. You are doomed to being nothing more than a conduit repeating the questions fed into your earpiece. Here is Zengerle downgrading the goateed one as he reveals that The secret to Sunday morning show success is the executive producer:

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)Chuck Todd, the new host of NBC's Meet The Press, suggested that Americans who do not pay income tax fund public education more than the rich by buying lottery tickets and going to casinos. While interviewing Ben Carson on CSPAN's After Words, which aired on Sunday, Todd said that Americans who don't pay federal income tax go to casinos or buy lottery tickets and are "spending more money funding our schools, whether it's Detroit or other places." Todd said that though "they are not writing a check to the federal government," poorer Americans "are contributing arguably more money to education...

People can finally stop speculating about Meet the Press. Andrea Mitchell will serve as moderator of Meet the Press this weekend

NBC will name Chuck Todd the new host of "Meet the Press" as soon as Thursday afternoon, according to people with direct knowledge of the network's plans. The sources confirmed widespread speculation that David Gregory, who moderated the show for the past six years, will be replaced by Todd, and is expected to leave NBC. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on the record. One said that the transition will be swift -- so swift that Gregory will not even host "Meet the Press" this weekend.

No big surprise here but Politico is now reporting that Chuck Todd will probably be replacing David Gregory as host of Meet The Press. It was almost inevitable that NBC News would be ousting Gregory due to the terrible ratings of that Sunday news show while he was hosting. The only question was who was going to replace Gregory and it now seems to be confirmed that the widely acknowledged leading candidate is going to be Todd. The big question now is if Chuck Todd can put aside his liberal reflexes and provide the Meet The Press audience with some...
