http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/oct/18/editorial-obama-must-confront-islamic-persecution-/ Some prominent voices have been raised in protest, but what may be the most severe persecution of Christians in centuries continues to expand. The Obama administration, while making conventional obeisance declines, for reasons observers can only speculate, to make the Islamist martyrdom of Christians a high-priority policy issue. The president’s remarks on the issue, such as they are, seem to be muffled by fear of rebuke from Muslim moderates obsessed with persecution of Muslims in the Crusades of a thousand years ago. Pope Francis last year told a delegation of Jews, headed by Ronald Lauder, president of the World...

An obscure Louisiana State university professor named Sean Illing, writing for leftist rag Salon, attacked GOP presidential candidates for espousing their Christian beliefs at a Christian rally at a Dallas-area megachurch, asserting insanely that no one in the Republican party cares about the U.S. Consitution, including “star of the show” Senator Ted Cruz. Let’s put aside the hilarious assumption that the GOP doesn’t care about the Constitution (we’ll get back to that) and focus on the charge that Cruz doesn’t care about the Constitution. Illing, an esteemed intellect who obtained his bachelor’s degree at LSU, then had to travel to...

Last April, police in Sicily reported that Muslim migrants hurled as many as 53 Christians overboard during a crossing from Libya. The motive was that the victims “professed the Christian faith while the aggressors were Muslim.” Another report cited a boy seen praying to the Judeo-Christian God. Muslims commanded him to stop, saying “Here, we only pray to Allah.” Eventually the Muslims “went mad,” in the words of a witness, started screaming “Allahu Akbar!” and began hurling Christians into the sea.

Are you afraid that the government is plotting to confiscate your firearms? Do you believe the economy is about to collapse and the government will soon declare martial law? Do you display an unusual number of political and/or ideological bumper stickers on your car? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you may be an anti-government extremist (a.k.a. domestic terrorist) in the eyes of the police. As such, you are now viewed as a greater threat to America than ISIS or al Qaeda. Let that sink in a moment. If you believe in and exercise your rights...

When the Green family, founders of U.S. retail chain Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., purchased their first biblical artifact in November 2009, they never expected to assemble in only a few years what is now one of the world’s largest private collections of rare biblical texts, objects, and artifacts. Known as the Green Collection, the compilation of around 40,000 objects includes some of the rarest and most significant biblical texts and artifacts ever assembled under one roof. NOW THEY WANT TO SHARE THAT WITH ALL AMERICANS, BUILDING A BIBLE MUSEUM JUST IN THE HEART OF OUR NATION. The museum in Washington,...

Mexico High School quarterback Dante Turo was raised by his parents to give glory to God – especially on the football field. “When you score touchdowns, when you make big plays, it’s easy to become proud,” Geno, his dad, told me. “It’s easy to take credit for yourself. I didn’t want my son to get caught up in that.” Geno, who lives in a small town north of Syracuse, New York, encouraged his son to find a subtle way to praise the Lord after making big plays. “He wanted to do something at that moment to take credit away from...

As Muslims continue to flood the continent, they will not be limited to expressing their anti-Christian hostility on the unprotected dead in cemeteries, or on inanimate church buildings, statues, and crosses. but on native Christians themselves Last April, police in Sicily reported that Muslim migrants hurled as many as 53 Christians overboard during a crossing from Libya.’ The motive was that the victims “professed the Christian faith while the aggressors were Muslim.” ‘Another’report‘cited a boy seen praying to the Judeo-Christian God. The Obama administration's increasingly controversial Justice Department, in partnership with the ultra-leftist Southern Poverty Law Center, announced the creation of a new czar position to focus on “domestic terrorism” — especially the alleged threat from Christians and Americans with “anti-government” views. While ostensibly created to serve as a coordination office overseeing domestic terror cases, critics and analysts are sounding the alarm, warning that the administration is plotting to go after its political opponents with the full force of the federal government

Archbishop of Aleppo: Russian airstrikes ‘source of hope’ for Christians in Syria October 9, 2015 ARA News GENEVA – Russia’s military buildup in Syria is “a source of hope” for the country’s Christians, the Melkite Greek Catholic archbishop of Aleppo Jean-Clement Jeanbart said on Thursday. Jeanbart welcomed the Russian military intervention in Syria, saying that the Russian President Vladimir Putin “serves the Christians’ cause”. The archbishop said in an interview with Suisse Romande television that the Russian airstrikes on Islamists “renewed the confidence among Christians in Syria”. Syrian Christians, among other minorities, have suffered suppression during the nearly five-year war,...

Delivering remarks on domestic terrorism at an event co-sponsored by the George Washington University’s program on extremism and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), Assistant Attorney General John P. Carlin announced on Wednesday the creation of a new position within the Department of Justice (DOJ) aimed at investigating violent extremism. “We are here to talk about combating domestic terrorism, which the FBI has explained as ‘Americans attacking Americans based on U.S.-based extremist ideologies.’ The threat ranges from individuals motivated by anti-government animus, to eco-radicalism and racism,” stated Carlin. He continued, “Homegrown violent extremists can be motivated by any viewpoint on...

Some have mockingly called Barack Obama “Dear Reader” for his reliance on a Teleprompter. But considering that while speaking extemporaneously he has uttered comments such as Middle American voters “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them” and women shouldn’t be “punished with a baby,” his recourse to such technology is no mystery. And now we learn that, again, when the Telee's away Obama’s tongue will play. The latest revelatory comment was made during a conversation the president had with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marilynne Robinson for a New York Review of Books piece published Monday....

If you have ever wondered whether President Obama has an abiding hostility to people of Christian faith, wonder no more. He believes we are a threat to national security. If you are a sincerely devoted follower of Jesus Christ, your president believes you are a potential domestic terrorist. I do not exaggerate. In a gathering at George Washington University this week, Obama’s assistant attorney general for national security, John Carlin, revealed that the Department of Justice is creating a brand new position just to monitor us. The position, Domestic Terrorism Counsel, will be created to combat the “real and present...

Millions of Syrians have fled their homes amid civil war, flooding Europe and causing a refugee crisis not seen since the end of World War II. Recently, the Obama administration announced its intention to resettle at least 10,000 Syrian refugees in the United States over the next year, an increase from fewer than 2,000 this year. That number could rise to as many as 100,000 refugees by 2017. Overall, the United States takes in roughly 70,000 refugees a year, and some activists are calling for that number to be raised to 200,000. Some experts have said allowing in so many...

Father Jacques Mourad credited the Virgin Mary and a Muslim friend for his rescue.HOMS, Syria — A Syrian priest captured by Islamic State (ISIS) militants in May thought he would die for his faith. Now, he credits the Virgin Mary and the help of a Muslim friend for his escape. “This is the miracle the Good Lord gave me — while I was a prisoner I was waiting for the day I would die, but with a great inner peace,” the Syriac Catholic priest, Father Jacques Mourad, told Italian TV 2000. “I had no problem dying for the name of...

They cut off the 12-year-old boy's fingertips, but still he refused to convert to Islam. They then “severely beat him,” reports the group Christian Aid Mission, “telling his father they would stop the torture only if he, the father, returned to Islam. When the [father] refused, relatives said, the ISIS militants also tortured and beat him and … two other ministry workers. The three men and the boy then met their deaths in crucifixion.” Perpetrated by Islamic State (IS) jihadists, the above crime occurred near Aleppo, Syria, just last month. But it’s a scene that has been replayed over and...

Assyrian Christians living in Sweden have been targeted with a string of threatening messages linked to the Islamic State, including demands that they “convert or die.” A recent report by Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter revealed that the Assyrian community in the city of Gothenburg, in southwestern Sweden, is being menaced by unidentified aggressors using known Islamic State methods and symbols. Local police are investigating the threats, but so far have found nothing. The town of Gothenburg is a hotbed for jihadist recruiting, and the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet earlier this year reported that at least 150 people had left the...
