My first meeting in Roger Ailes’ boardroom of doom was on Election Day 2010. At the time, I was the network’s new political editor. Republicans were poised to deliver a serious walloping to President Barack Obama and roll back the Democrats’ doughty majorities in both houses of Congress. The GOP was in a position to score major wins in governors’ mansions and statehouses from coast to coast. The second floor of the News Corp headquarters on Sixth Avenue in New York was a hive of excited optimism. With Republicans looking forward to big wins, we knew viewership would be enormous...

Who won the November 2020 U.S. presidential elections? That was the question California lawmaker Zoe Lofgren asked Monday at the hearing of the House Select Committee on the January 6th attacks on Congress. "Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., of the great state of Delaware" came the reply. After November 7th, how likely was it for then-President Donald Trump to pull out a surprise victory? "You're better off to play the Powerball," was the answer. Asked about Fox News's projection of Biden as the winner of Arizona on Election Night, the network's former political director, Chris Stirewalt, testified, "Our poll in Arizona...

VIDEOOn Election Night 2020, Chris Stirewalt of Fox News REFUSED to call Florida for Trump despite the fact that 91% of the vote was in with President Trump ahead by almost 400,000 votes which is why Fox had already assigned a 95% chance of a Trump victory in that state. Added to this ABSURDITY is the fact that it was mostly the very conservative Panhandle counties whose votes remained to be counted because their polls closed an hour later due to the time zone difference. Yes, liberal Broward County has a well deserved reputation for reporting their tallies late but...

Former Fox News political editor Chris Stirewalt recounted the “terrible feeling of humiliation” over getting fired by the network after he defended the Fox News decision desk’s early but accurate election night call for President Joe Biden to win Arizona, adding that it was “very challenging” to tell his kids he was suddenly kicked to the curb.

Politics editor Chris Stirewalt, along with nearly two dozen digital journalists, have been fired from Fox News. Stirewalt is listed by the New York Times as one of two “senior leaders” exiting the network as Fox “tries to lure back viewers who balked at its coverage of the 2020 election and its aftermath.” The other is Bill Sammon, Fox News’s longtime Washington bureau chief, who told staff that he would be retiring at the end of the month. Stirewalt, however, was “fired” according to the Times, along with “roughly 20 Fox News digital journalists” who were laid off on Tuesday....

VIDEO If Fox News wants to at least make a start towards stopping the bleeding out of its viewers who stopped watching the network over the ridiculously early call of Arizona for Joe Biden on Election Night then they must FIRE CHRIS STIREWALT!!!

Obviously, the biggest Election Day loser will either be President Trump or Joe Biden, depending on who ultimately wins the presidential election, and the second biggest loser will be congressional Democrats, who lost seats in the House and failed to retake the Senate majority, but another major loser –without any question — is disgraced Fox News. The bottom is falling out of Fox’s reputation, and there are reports that the once-respected outlet is suffering in the ratings. None of this should surprise anyone, especially with the countless botched calls and outright lies still being uncovered during the dumpster fire that...

@thechrisbuskirk AZ early am update. Maricopa County overnight was a pickup of ~50,000 votes for Trump. Biden lead is now ~90k with ~520k ballots out there. A 60-40 Trump split of those ballots would put Trump ahead by ~10k. Trump has been winning the count 60-40 or better since late last night.

A BURR IN THEIR BRITCHES Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have done everything but build a moat and a drawbridge to keep House Democrats from pursuing President Trump. So the idea that they would then turn and eat one of their own to save Trump’s eldest son another day of testimony was foolish on its face. Depending on your point of view, you may think that Senate Republicans acted out of patriotic virtue, partisan self-interest or even malign intent. But work no one could reasonably argue that that they have not acted to protect Trump. Not only have the members...

We've been bringing you The Power Index from Chris Stirewalt fairly regularly, especially when it shows recent movement/volatility. The Real Story airs this each week, and it's not based on polls alone but many other factors, including momentum, money, strength of organization etc. In this week's segment, Stirewalt has Trump moving up, but only to third. He has both Fiorina and Carson moving down. Cruz though he's had in the top spot for a few weeks running. Won't it be interesting to see which tack the media takes in trying to take Cruz down? Whichever it is, I think the...

Having Talked to several senior aides on Capitol Hill (along with Chris Stirewalt and his sources on the Hill tied to the leadership) here is the picture that is beginning to form. Speaker John Boehner has agreed to stay on as Speaker--not just until the Caucus nominates someone --but, until that person can confirm 218 votes on the House floor (needed to take the Speaker’s gavel). Short of that – Boehner will stay on for the rest of this Congress and steer legislation that is pending.

Megan Kelly did a segment on Friday with Chris Stirewalt and Howard Kurtz where they blasted an article by the NY Time on Melania Trump. The consensus was that the article was condescending and would have never been done on a democrat. They also agreed that Melania had done nothing to deserve such treatment.

Donald Trump isn’t letting up on Megyn Kelly for an instant. Kelly returned Monday night from an 11-day vacation, and Trump mercilessly trolled her throughout her show “The Kelly File” on Fox News. Trump jabbed at Kelly, suggesting she take another “unscheduled” vacation, implying that her absence may have resulted from the controversy following Kelly’s confrontation with Trump at the GOP debate. Fox News vehemently denied that the break was related to Trump. The NYT reports that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will today announce plans to slash the United States Army’s fighting force to its smallest level since before World War II as well as eliminating an entire class of attack aircraft, including the fearsome A-10. Obama officials say that the smaller fighting force reflects budget realities and an end to large-scale foreign wars.
