As they used to say way back when in the long Ottoman twilight, the Turk is the sick man of Europe. Following this weekend's Caliph-for-Life referendum, the Turk is sicker than ever. But he's no longer of Europe, and instead is exiting for a destination dark and catastrophic for almost all his neighbors. Sultan ErdoÄŸan - who, a mere 15 years ago, was banned from holding political office - has now succeeded in dismantling almost every defining element of the Kemalist republic. What replaces it will be a crude strongman state in service of Islamic imperialism. I have read a...

Turkey, RIP: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appears to have won a narrow victory in a referendum giving him sweeping, near-dictatorial powers and essentially ending his nation's 98-year democratic experiment, unique in the Mideast. Starting with Turkish leader Kemal Ataturk immediately following World War I, as the final remnants of the Ottoman Empire were dismantled, Turkey had hewed closely to a mostly democratic, religiously secular, pro-Western government model. It was a model that worked. Turkey forged close ties with governments in Western Europe, in particular Germany, and sent hundreds of thousands of its workers there. Meanwhile, with the Soviet Union...

US president Donald Trump called his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday to congratulate him on winning the referendum boosting his powers, the White House said on Monday. The call was first reported by Turkish state media, one day after Erdogan won over 51 percent in Sunday's vote. "Trump called Erdogan tonight (Monday) and congratulated him on his success in the referendum," Turkish presidential sources said, quoted by the government run Anadolu news agency. The reaction from Mr Trump contrasts with EU leaders who have been reserved in their reaction to the narrow victory while monitors expressed concern over...

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is claiming victory in a referendum that gives him extraordinary new powers. The vote - much closer than many anticipated - makes Erdogan a virtual dictator. Turkey, previously a nominal parliamentary democracy, will now embrace a presidential system of government, granting the chief executive the power to issue decrees and exercise authority previously reserved for the legislature. ***SNIP***It's hard to overstate the incredible transformation of Turkey over the last decade under Erdogan's rule. The country has gone from a secular democracy to a full blown Islamist state. Erdogan has cleansed the bureaucracy, the army, cultural...

On Sunday, Turkish voters voted by 51% to 49% to abolish the office of the Prime Minister and to grant president Erdogan sweeping powers. The referendum included 18 constitutional changes and will go into effect by Turkey's next general election in 2019. Opponents of Erdogan have called the results fraudulent and have vowed to challenge the outcome in court. It is not the first time the Turkish government has been accused of committing fraud in national and regional elections.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan didn’t just win his constitutional referendum — he permanently closed a chapter of his country’s modern history... Whether they understood it or not, when Turks voted “Yes”, they were registering their opposition to the Teşkilât-ı Esasîye Kanunu and the version of modernity that Ataturk imagined and represented. Though the opposition is still disputing the final vote tallies, the Turkish public seems to have given Erdogan and the AKP license to reorganize the Turkish state and in the process raze the values on which it was built.

London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, has already been controversial for his ‘openness’ towards Islamic immigrants with no plans what so ever to help assimilate them to Western culture. Well, with today’s attacks that left at least four dead and many injured, we are reminded of Sadiq Khan’s chilling remarks that terrorism is ‘part & parcel’ of living in a large city. Via DailyMail: The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has said that living with terror attacks – like the one that hit New York at the weekend – is ‘part and parcel of living in a big city’. Mr Khan told...

Turkish President Recep Erdogan has urged all Turks living in Europe to have at least five children, saying they are the future of the continent and that it would be the best response to the “injustices” imposed on expatriates there. “Go live in better neighborhoods. Drive the best cars. Live in the best houses. Make not three, but five children. Because you are the future of Europe. That will be the best response to the injustices against you,” Erdogan said in the city of Eskisehir on Friday, according to AP. The comments were made while the Turkish president was campaigning...

Calling Turks the “future of Europe,” Turkey’s president on Friday implored his compatriots living on the Continent to have multiple children as an act of revenge against the West’s “injustices.” “Go live in better neighborhoods. Drive the best cars. Live in the best houses,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday at a rally in the city of Eskisehir, while campaigning for a referendum that would solidify his power. “Make not three, but five children. Because you are the future of Europe. That will be the best response to the injustices against you.”

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — The Latest on Dutch barring Turkish foreign minister (all times local): 5:10 p.m. Turkey’s foreign minister says that the Dutch decision to deny his plane landing permission for him to enter the Netherlands “is a scandal in every way and cannot be accepted.” Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was due to visit Rotterdam on Saturday to campaign for a referendum next month on constitutional reforms in Turkey. The Dutch government says that it withdrew the permission because of “risks to public order and security.” Cavusoglu, speaking at Istanbul’s airport, said that the Dutch are trying to prevent...

Former FBI special agent John Guandolo has written a strong and sobering essay at his website, UnderstandingTheThreat, called "Unfit for Duty." It argues that two senior Trump administration officials, HR McMaster and Sebastian Gorka, are "catastrophically wrong" in their assessment of Islam as publicly stated and that this is "leading America down a disastrous road towards defeat." I agree. However, the problem is much, much larger than that. It is true that the statements (excerpted below) of both men serve to sever the logical, in fact, blatant connections between Islam and what I will call Hot Jihad (terrorism, war) and...

A rabbit hole is a scary place. You never expect to find it, and when you do, it starts from the unlikeliest of places. Who knew that the globalist push for a worldwide Islamic Fundamentalist Caliphate started at a small market in Irvington New Jersey? An Irvington man on Monday admitted in federal court to running a food stamps-for-cash scheme that cost the government more than $800,000 over two years. Miguel Antonio Azcona pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Mary L. Cooper in Trenton to a single count of theft of government funds, according to the office of U.S. Attorney...

After Obama left Cairo, the Muslim Brotherhood was empowered, and military rulers weakened and brought down one after another. By Western standards, military rule is shunned as an oppressive form of government, but in the Islamic world it is the only buffer of protection from the tyranny of total sharia that must be enforced by Islamic theocracies, such as those of Iran and Saudi Arabia. The Muslim Brotherhood and then ISIS quickly filled the vacuum and the Muslim world is now on fire.

Turkey and Iran’s Dangerous Collision Course By ALI VAEZ DEC. 18, 2016 Today’s competition between Turkey and Iran is the latest iteration of an old power game: a struggle their progenitors, the Byzantine and Persian empires, started over the control of Mesopotamia ? today’s Iraq and Syria. While the rivalry outlived their transformation from empires to nation-states, they have managed to keep the peace between themselves for nearly 200 years. Yet Turkey and Iran are now on a collision course, mostly because of their involvement as the region’s major Sunni and Shiite powers in the deepening sectarian conflicts in Iraq...

MORE than 1000 Muslims took to the streets of London last night chanting Allahu Akbar and demanding an Islamic caliphate. The street outside the empty embassy in Belgrave Square, London, was closed off as it filled with protestors and Islamic leaders chanting loudly and calling for America to be punished over Aleppo. The demonstration became an alternative to an official rally calling for an end to the bloodshed in Syria outside Downing Street. During the speeches which lasted almost an hour the crowd chanted Allahu Akbar 'God is the greatest' and cheered for those calling for a global caliphate. Protestors...

Monday, November 21, 2016 A Tiny Minority of a Million Muslims in America Posted by Daniel Greenfield The US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) is boasting that its voter registration campaign “One Million Voters” across mosques and schools has doubled the number of registered Muslim voters to over a million. The media is cheering this development even though USCMO has a history that makes the KKK look downright sunny. USCMO was in the news last year for its statement denying the Muslim genocide of Armenians and arguing that any recognition of the massacre must also recognize “Muslim suffering.” USCMO's Secretary...

They were threatened, forced to spit on a crucifix or convert to Islam, but a handful of Iraqi Christians miraculously survived more than two years under Islamic State group rule. When the jihadists swept across the Nineveh Plain in northern Iraq in August 2014 and told Christians to convert, pay tax, leave or die, around 120,000 of them fled. Now that Iraqi forces have retaken many of those areas around the city of Mosul, stories are emerging of those who did not get a chance to leave and faced one of the three other options. Ismail Matti was 14 when...
