They repeat routes so many times it appears effortless come game time. That's the way it seems with Manning & Co., at least, a group so practiced and precise that a whole warmup can take place without the football touching the turf. "They practice so much that it becomes almost automatic when he throws them a pass," said Jim Mora . .

The most commonly accepted interpretation of Christ's prayer in the Garden is that our Lord was seeking some way of avoiding the Cross. Yet, this seems entirely inconsistent with his thoughts and actions prior to and after this event. The best take I have heard about "this cup" is that it related to His acute suffering of hematohidrosis which brings the sufferer close to death and increases the sensitivity of the skin -- making scourging, pummeling, cross bearing, etc. that much the worse.I think this prayer was answered in the affirmative by the Father, an angel stregnthened the Lord, and...

In late 2003, Christian sociologist and pollster George Barna conducted a fairly extensive poll on the prevalence of a “biblical or Christian worldview” in the United States. . .What did he find? Only 4% of the total population of American adults have a biblical worldview. The fact that only 9% of born-again Christians have a biblical worldview was almost beyond belief. In light of these dispiriting statistics, Christians must return to emphasizing God’s truth and God’s love. America currently stands at a crossroad. Many of our national problems are a result of our churches abandoning truth.

The first fresh poll results from Pennsylvania are in since Barack Obama's "bitter" comments about people in small towns exploded as a news story, and the findings could hardly be worse for the Democratic presidential contender.

It's difficult to underestimate the enduring impact of Barack Obama's "bitter" remark. The day after John Kerry blurted that he "actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it" Vice President Dick Cheney ripped into the Democratic nominee and GOP strategists were already envisioning a new ad featuring the gaffe, intent on undercutting Kerry's character as a flip-flopper.

Having grown up in one of those small Pennsylvania towns Sen. Barack Obama sneers at, I know what really makes people there "bitter." It's slick-talking politicians who look down on their beliefs and values.Small-town people get doubly "bitter" when those pols have the gall to ask for their votes while demeaning their lives. See, even hicks don't like being played for suckers.

The Democratic nominating fight took a sudden turn with Senator Barack Obama’s comments about small-town Pennsylvania voters providing an opening for the Clinton campaign to raise anew questions about Mr. Obama’s ability to lure working-class voters.

The Democratic race could well come down to the first contested convention in years. Lessons on how to prevail. After the last Democratic Primary is held in early June, neither Hillary Clinton nor Barack Obama will have enough votes from delegates elected in caucuses or primaries to be declared the nominee. Obama would have to win 76 percent and Clinton 98 percent of the 535 delegates that are at stake in the final eight contests. Neither will happen.

The prospect of a happy racial reconciliation that would be started on the national convention’s rostrum in Denver late in August is dimmed because the bitter battle for the nomination will not end anytime soon. In the worst nightmare scenario for Democrats, they could be fighting right into Denver.

How much longer will he be kept out of sight?

Obama has always been a tough sell in largely white Northeast Philadelphia and in the city's blue-collar river wards, a collection of white ethnic enclaves where customers at the local watering hole are often born and raised in the neighborhood that supports it. And his speech Tuesday, although widely praised by the pundit caste and Obama supporters, has only seemed to widen the gulf with the Budweiser class here.

Does anyone recall that vicious comment on one of these tapes about Nancy Halloway? I can't find it. It was one of the ugliest things he said.

No wonder Michelle has never been proud of the USA. Today she is quoted by the New Yorker as saying that America is "mean, slothful, and complacent."

Carlos Sr. had called Paul Dhaliwal around 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. Christmas Day - an hour or two before the tiger attacks. He wanted his son home to celebrate Christmas dinner with his mother. But Dhaliwal reportedly told Sousa he hadn't seen his son for days. "We're just so upset about that," said the victim's cousin, Christina Sousa-Habenicht, 26. "We feel we could have prevented something. We just have this huge 'What if? - what if we could have talked to him?' Instead his friend lied. What kind of friend is that?" Ever since the family found out the...

Immigration: The Senate's 53-46 defeat of the immigration bill Thursday was more than a victory for rule of law over alien amnesty. It was a triumph of citizens' will over politicians' disdain. Real reform must follow. The Bush-Kennedy immigration reform bill is dead and unlikely to be served up again before a new administration takes office. No wonder. It was a pork-laden spending bill that offered de facto amnesty to illegal immigrants, federal contracts to the usual contractors, spoils for businesses that habitually hire illegals, and new layers of bureaucracy, supposedly to speed immigration entries. The only people it didn't...

Over the objections of the White House, House Republicans said they will vote this morning on a party resolution critical of the immigration bill the president has been struggling to have called back up in the Senate. The administration had hoped to forestall such action given the timing of the Senate debate. But faced with pressure from their members, Republican leaders informed the White House that they will go ahead with the conference vote, just hours before a closely fought Senate roll call on proceeding to the bill. The administration believes it can still get the 60 votes needed to...
