"The theory of evolution is basically a denial that there is ANY intelligence in the universe. It requires that a Boeing 747 be regarded as a product of blind chance. Why? Because if all of nature operates according to blind mechanism, natural selection, and inexplicable mutations, then there is no reason or guiding intelligence ANYWHERE in the process from the pre-biotic soup all the way to the 747."

This is a self-evidently stupid statement.

Evolution by natural selection explains precisely HOW complexity can emerge from random changes. Natural selection acts as the "ratchet," favoring certain changes over others.

If you don't understand this, you're too ignorant to be making public comments on the subject. And if you do understand it, then you're deliberately lying and will go to Hell when you die.

String theory _is_ falsifiable. It makes certain statements about the Universe which are disprovable -- in particular about Calabi-Yau shapes. There's a great account in Brian Greene's book on string theory about one such early test.

Saying it's not falsifiable means that either:
    a) You don't know what you're talking about, in which case you shouldn't be blathering about this, or
    b) You're deliberately lying to us, in which case God will boil you in magma for a billion years.

This is SO COOL! Imagine writing about this one for a homework assignment:

"I went on this cruise with my parents to Kenya. Suddenly, we were attacked by pirates! But the crew used a sonic disruptor beam to scare away the pirates, and we all were safe. The end."

"Timmy, please see me after class. This was to be a non-fiction report."

"Frog" is not a species. It's a whole group of species, just like salamanders and snakes. Here we have direct evidence of one species of frog splitting into two. And, yes, it's an adaptation to environmental change. THAT'S WHAT EVOLUTION IS ALL ABOUT!

Trying to dodge the issue via semantic games is dishonest. God will boil you in molten sulfur for a billion years for being dishonest.

What a remarkably idiotic argument. First of all, go buy a dictionary and find out what "infinitesimally" means.
Next, consider that New Orleans has been flooded by a hurricane exactly once during its 300-year history. San Francisco has been hit by severe quakes twice in the past century. In other words, _observed data_ suggests quakes are more common than hurricanes.

In addition, your information about the "hole in the ground" is incorrect. While portions of the city are below sea level, much of it is not.

Also, you seem to be under the weird impression that since one hurricane hit NO in 300 years, they're going to be attracted to it from now on. Given your demonstrated ignorance of probability, I'll happily play against you at any gambling game.

I love it: equal time for crackpots. If this argument is accepted, I'm going to demand that all schools teach my theory that Christ was actually a reptilian space alien. I _deserve_ to have the schools help propagate it because the Christian establishment thinks it's nutty.

Okay. Now let's also abandon all cities on active geological faults (San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle), all other low-lying coastal cities (Houston, Miami, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston), all cities in river floodplains (St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Cincinnatti, Kansas City, Memphis, Minneapolis, St. Paul), and all cities in deserts without adequate water supplies (Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque). Everyone in the United States has to move to Chicago.

"How are replication errors and retroviruses or even the evolving bird flu examples of completely new, randomly chosen information that has been added?"

Seems pretty obvious to me. Random changes in DNA create new sequences coding for different proteins. Sometimes these new proteins enable the organism to do something it couldn't do before. And the process doesn't violate thermodynamics because there's a total increase in entropy.

Now, I'd like _you_ to explain how Intelligent Design accounts for things like a mutating flu virus? Does a Designer make new viruses? (Is God using biological warfare?)

What mechanism does the Intelligent Designer use to make changes in the organism's DNA. Be specific. If ID is an actual scientific theory, it has to explain things like this.

So how come the Republicans can't line up some friendly local District Attorneys to indict these guys? A few well-publicized cases and the Dems might lose their enthusiasm for letting two-bit local officials go after national representatives.
