ST. LOUIS (AP) - An off-duty St. Louis city police officer shot and killed a robbery suspect Sunday night inside a fast-food restaurant on the city’s north side. Police said Thomas Anthony Mack, 18, entered a Church’s Fried Chicken restaurant around 11:30 p.m., just as two employees were getting ready to close, and demanded money from the manager. Sorry for the vanity, but I cannot find the answer to this. Foxe's Book of Martyrs, and numerous other sources, discuss the martyrdom of the Apostles, according to church traditions. However, I cannot find the sources for these traditions. I have looked in Clement, Justin Martyr, Polycarp, Ignatius, Eusebius, etc., but cannot find anything except that Paul and Peter were executed under Nero during the "persecutions" (this according to Clement). Perhaps I missed it, but I never once, while watching hours of news on Y2K, heard anyone mention any significance for celebrating "the new milennium" (I know it's not really) or why 2000 is a special number.
