I used to lived in Stamford, but now live in the Albany Diocese. What a great loss! Thank God every day for the great grace to live in a city where there are so many holy priests. Pray for us in Albany.

If Roberts is a strict constructionist, how can he support Roe? Every nominee to the Court should be given a copy of the Constitution prior to the hearings and quizzed on its contents.

Do you know how I can find out how Paul Tonko (Assembly district 105 in NYS) voted on Plan B - the so - called "unintended pregnancy prevention act?"? Since the Assembly has voted for this bill during the last three sessions, I would like to know where I can find Tonko's record. Thank you.

Don't forget that many teachers are forced to join the National Education Association in order to be hired / retained by the public school system. A "closed shop" is a reality in many school districts. Although I am well acquainted with the leftist [Communist] agenda of the NEA and refused to pay my yearly dues, the so-called "agency fees" (amounting to over one-hundred dollars yearly) were taken out of my pay check every September. [Just think of the amount of money being collected from educators who are opposed to the NEA and yet are made to support it in order to continue working in the school district.] The NEA is dangerous and supports an agenda directly opposed to the values of most Americans. I shudder whenever Washington votes for more money for education, knowing that the NEA will have much to say about the money's use. The NEA is a tax-free organization that claims it does not influence the voting pattern of its membership. Want to help restore America's traditional values? Take away the tax exempt status from the NEA Better yet, call for its being disbanded.

It is not possible to be a Catholic and to support abortion. So...politicians of all parties should be denied Holy Communion if they are "pro-choice" [aka "pro-abortion] Abortion is one of the sins that cry to heaven for vengeance. Any "manifest" sinner [such as a public figure who openly supports abortion] should be refused Holy Communion. It is really an act of mercy because it makes the person [who is denied Holy Communion] realize how serious his sin is. If we as Catholics really believe (as Vatican 11 states) that abortion is an "unspeakable crime" and if we truly believe (as the Catholic Church teaches) that Holy Communion is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of JESUS CHRIST how can we tolerate the desecration of the Eucharist by givng the Sacred Host to a counterfeit Catholic? Catholics are not free to "pick and choose." Vatican 11 tells us that we must submit mind and will to the teachings of the Church in areas of faith and morals. Abortion is a moral issue. If Kerry, Pataki, Gulianni, etc. are "pro-choice" they should all be denied the Holy Eucharist.
