BANGUI, Central African Republic — Polin Pumandele was killed about 9:30 a.m. He was a Christian walking in a Muslim enclave, carrying wood to sell. In these tense days, that is enough reason to die in the Central African Republic. A Muslim mob confronted Pumandele, 23, on a side street and pushed him around. Then, they threw him into a ditch. At least one man stabbed him before his throat was slit. As the slaughter unfolded, some of his killers ordered a Washington Post journalist witnessing the attack Sunday to leave. “Allez, allez — go, go, ” one yelled, wagging...

Che Guevara has the most effective public relations department on earth. The Argentine guerrilla and modern Cuba’s co-founding father has been fashioned into a hipster icon, a counter-cultural hero, an anti-establishment rebel, and a champion of the poor. As James Callaghan once put it, “A lie can be halfway round The truth about Che now has its boots on. He helped free Cubans from the repressive Batista regime, only to enslave them in a totalitarian police state worst than the last. He was Fidel Castro’s chief executioner, a mass-murderer who in theory could have commanded any number of Latin American...

If you’ve seen the recent big screen stories of US Navy SEALS in Afghanistan, in Lone Survivor and Zero Dark Thirty, you are no doubt struck by the sacrifices these elite warriors make on the modern battlefield and the impeccable examples of heroism these movies have portrayed — not propaganda but truth. However, there is another US Navy SEAL story from Afghanistan that’s not receiving much attention, simply because its truth is an indictment of failure on the part of the Obama administration, US Congress, and senior military leadership. It is the story of the fate that befell a CH-47D...

Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas is missing. He hasn't been seen in public since January 14. Reports that he traveled to Egypt couldn't be confirmed by another congressman on the trip — or by Stockman's own office, where the person who answered the phone simply said, "That's the first that I've heard of that."

With two anti-gun Colorado state legislators recently voted out of office and a third retiring facing another recall election it’s clear that gun control isn’t the non-issue so many in office assumed it would be. Now several legislators are working to repeal the laws passed early last year in Colorado, with a new package of house bills that would roll back the recent changes. Although Colorado citizens recently voted to recall two proponents of the gun control package, including then state senate president John Morse and senator Angela Giron, the Democratic Party still holds a majority by one vote. A...

This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it. Abraham Lincoln.America is not the US administration who practiced all kinds of human rights violations, spying on the entire world, and using barefaced double standards policy in the Middle East region.America is not Sheikh Barrack Hussein Obama who talks About honor, principles and democracy while practicing political immorality against humanity, called Al Qaeda in Syriaâ€freedom fighters†and conspired against Egypt’s national security...

Attorney General Eric Holder couldn't explain the constitutional basis for executive orders such as President Obama's delay of the employer mandate because he hasn't read the legal analysis -- or at least, hasn't seen it in a long time. "I'll be honest with you, I have not seen -- I don't remember looking at or having seen the analysis in some time, so I'm not sure where along the spectrum that would come," Holder replied when Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, asked him to explain the nature of Obama's constitutional power to delay the mandate. Lee had based his question on...

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. Mahatma Gandhi Terrorism is a psychological war, terrorists depend on terrorizing people, so fear and cowardliness will control and change people’s behavior and divide their society. We decided not to let fear control our life or to get into our hearts. We decided that nothing will break our unity, nothing will destroy our country. The only way terrorism can win this battle, if we get divided or if we lose faith in our principles and strength. On the 24th and the 25th of January 2014, Muslim Brotherhood...

While, On the 17th of January 2014, John Kerry said that It’s not one vote that determines a democracy. The United States urges the interim Egyptian government to take steps towards reconciliation. Democracy is more than any one referendum or election. US have consistently expressed their serious concern about the leading up to the referendum, just as US expressed their concerns about the dangerous path Egypt’s elected government had chosen in the year that lead to 2013′s turbulence. The absence of a fully inclusive process in drafting and debating the constitution ahead of the referendum, and procedural violations during the...

I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me… All I ask is that you respect me as a human being. ” said Jackie Robinson” If you want Egyptians to respect you, you better respect yourselves and treat us fairly. You can criticize us, disagree with us but with honesty and fairness, not by false accusations and fierce attacks, and ruining the reputation of our country in front of your public opinion and misleading your readers and spreading lies and fabricated narrative stories. Your job is to publish facts and not to incite for violence or biased to terrorism against...

When you’re the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and you set up a booth at the largest gun show in the world, you’re gonna have to expect some shenanigans from the gun enthusiast attendees. One particularly clever 2nd Amendment supporter snuck up to the ATF booth and committed one of the more hilarious acts of political commentary we’ve seen in a long time: Pics at link >snip While we cannot condone vandalism, we salute the wit of the gun right advocate in his modest act of civil disobedience.

War On Terror: By refusing to acknowledge the role of al-Qaida-linked terrorists in the Benghazi attack, the administration has kept our military from hunting down and killing people responsible for the deadly 2012 attack. There would seem to be no shortage of targets for America's fleet of drones after the Senate release of a report documenting, despite the efforts of the New York Times and others to revive the video lie, the presence and participation of terrorists from no fewer than four al-Qaida-affiliated groups on the ground in Benghazi. Among the al-Qaida-affiliated groups involved in the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist...

‘Wishing the ideal Egypt is no substitute for understanding the real one.’ , a tweet by a gray eminence from Egypt I saw today, which reflects an attitude one would wish revolutionary romanticists to adopt..Last night I had been taken by surprise with a random poll on social media that gained 97%  with clearly “Yes, I do” answers to “Does Human Rights law apply to terrorists? – Questioner and participants suggest coming from a sound intellectual environment and having an economically middle class and up background. Hardly any of the 84 comments saw a conflict. The argument goes  ‘Yes. Not easy...

Michele Dunne is an expert on political and economic change in Arab countries, particularly Egypt, as well as U.S. policy in the Middle East. Dunne’s recent articles about Egypt not only reflects a core misrepresentation of facts that we the signatories would like to bring to her attention, but she directly contempt and challenge the free will of the Egyptian People. Dunne, neither you or the US administration have the right to lecture Egyptians about what they should do and what they shouldn’t do, especially when it comes to democracy and human rights.
