  • Culture Rot: Donald Trump Is the Effect, Not the Cause

Sadly, Trump’s conservative supporters have turned on Rush, Mark Levin, NR, William Buckley (who despised Trump), Fox News, etc. — they are all RINOs, wrong, ‘sell-outs’, ‘betrayers’, etc. Donald Trump is one who is needed now. The ‘ball-crusher.’ The purported Strong Man. The one who quotes Mussolini (who forgot or never knew Mussolini ended up a sheep.) Who now is showing he is really the RINO-est of them all.

However, even with his amnesty millstone, Rubio has been more consistent on the issues than Trump.

Correct. Trump is wildly inconsistent, and his conservative supporters only select the quotes that maintain their wishful view of him. .

Arnold Schwarzenegger was supposed to be the celebrity saviour of California. Everybody ignored the red flags and leftist tendencies.

    Excellent point.

Also reminds me of the love affair between conservatives and the early Ted Turner, who emitted iconoclastic gonzo-conservative statements that got people excited. That didn't turn out well either.

When did rubio, or cruz for that matter, ever come out with a bold plan to do anything on their own? I don't recommend that you do any more thinking in public, you are clearly not very good at it.

I don't recommend you do any more insulting in public; I recommend you engage in thoughtful rejoinder.

I just pointed out that Trump is offering an unoriginal idea, from years ago, offered by moderates and approved by the NY Times -- hence clearly not something he "came out with on his own", clearly not "bold", and clearly not a "plan" worthy of support on FR. And this is your response?

I think that if Rubio had proposed this plan, he would be pilloried today as a traitor for promoting amnesty.

As someone said above, it’s really about the art of selling the idea. Trump is selling a moderate, NYTimes-sanctioned approach, yet has passionate foes of amnesty giving him a pass, because of the way he says it. Embarrassing. Trump = Kay Bailey Hutchison, and is no tougher on illegals than Rubio.

  • Why don't threats against Israel dismay the EU?

Their stances are so grossly inconsistent that they must be at least aware of it. And it’s not possible to rationalize it.

Normally, such an absurdity would embarrass an institution or body. But I suspect what underlies it is a visceral hatred for the Jews, and this hatred overwhelms any shame.

More evidence of the spiritual corruption rampant in Europe. Something is rotten in Denmark. And France. And Poland. And...

  • URGENT PRAYERS NEEDED FOR ONE OF OUR HEROES (UPDATED 11/19/04)

Prayers for the wounded heroine, and all the wounded, and all those fighting for us.

    > right now Im so mad I could scream....we have heroes like this injured or killed everyday, but our MSM is more concerned about a terrorist that a Marine shot...

This morning, radio news (NPR Morning Edition?) reported that two Marines were killed in Fallujah because they were being careful pursuing enemy forces that had invaded the house of a civilian family. The devils took advantage of the Marines' deference.

A great story of sacrifice in order to preserve Iraqi civilian life. Would make an impact perhaps if aired in Baghdad, Beirut, Cairo.

Yet, this story is not getting air time. What gets publicity is a case of a Marine losing it and killing a devil who had been wounded firing at them from the mosque.

This is a choice the MSM consciously makes. They are responsible. Al Jazeera, I can understand why they make that choice. They have the Marine-killer as main front page story on their web site, but not until this afternoon did they put up just a side-story on the killing of CARE administrator Hasan, a woman, a non-combatant, in fact an aid worker -- when it was AlJazeera that first the tape showing her murder. Every other news outlet was reporting on it before A-J even acknowledged the story. Even then, watch their disclaimer:

"Some armed groups have used the tactic to try to force US-led troops and foreigners to leave Iraq. However many abductions have been attributed to criminal gangs taking advantage of lawlessness in the troubled country. "

What would a "criminal" enterprise benefit from capturing and executing an aid worker?

So, that's what we expect from A-J. But U.S. MSM ... ? Sadly, we have come to expect the same from them.
