Let's get right to business. What car have you owned and then sold, that you wish you could get back? When did you buy it and what did it cost? When did you sell it and for how much? Why did you sell it? What is it worth today? Pictures are allowed. I'll start.

I have been receiving campaign solicitations from Chief Jarome Bell who is running for Congress (VA-2). He seems to be saying the right things. I am considering sending him a contribution. Thoughts?

A remarkable 195 House Republicans and all 50 Republican senators, have stood up to support a resolution that was introduced this week to undo President Joe Biden’s federal vaccine mandate, Representative Fred Keller (R-PA) said. “We’re working to undo the illegal mandates for vaccines by Joe Biden. [It’s] clearly an overreach of authority to have OSHA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, come to private employers and dictate to them whether or not their employees have to be vaccinated to have a job,” Keller said. “In America, we have personal liberties and freedoms, and this is an overreach. And what we’re...

I made a grave error this year in purchasing a gift for a family member. Since the advent of Covid and the restrictions placed on social contact, I decided to be a good sport and shop online this year for a gift. I made the mistake of ordering some overpriced pears from Harry and David (although the box is nice). But as always, no good deed will go unpunished. Now on every internet page I go to (except FR) there is this ad from H&D that flips and churns catching my eye. Ho, Ho, Ho, long will this last? A...

What will the World look like at the end of 2022 under a Harris/Biden Presidency. I'm not giving up, just thinking ahead. So... let's make some predictions.Gas will be $5.00/ gallon. China will invade Taiwan, US will do nothing. Unemployment will be 10%. Arrests can be made for not wearing a mask. 100% tax on ammo that is not available anyway.

It has come to my attention that there is a great deal to be learned about how things work in our world. And through the generosity of our government, we can seek funding to pursue some of these things. So, this is a tread with suggestions for Government Grants to solve the mysteries of the Universe, after all, it is for the children. I will start. Why do tornados always attack mobile home parks? Request $10 million grant. Why do smoke alarms always go into a death knell at 3:30 AM? Request $20 million grant. Others?

Earlier today there was a FOX report about a girl that was attacked by 5 dogs and killed. Why was this report and thread pulled? Is if not news? Are we too fragile to know about it? I do not understand the criteria used here at FR to censor our site. I use the word "our" because although Mr. Robinson is the owner, it is nothing without us.

In light of all the noise regarding gun control and "assault rifles" being now targeted for confiscation, I think we at FR need to stand up and declare a "National Buy an AR Lower Day". All it takes is $80 to make a statement. So what would be a good date?

This morning a post was pulled regarding the discovery of Mastadon bones in maybe Indiana. The reason cited for pulling it was "chat". I don't get it. The article was NOT a vanity; it was a published news article. Things like that are interesting and should be allowed. For God sake, they let a letter jumble puzzle be posted every morning. Does FR have a defined criteria as what is allowed and what is not. This kind of thing has happened more than once. Yes, it is Robinson's site and he can do what he wants, but to me this...

I am trying to understand the standards and criteria for a post and thread being removed from FR. A few days ago, a thread regarding 2 Rottweilers killing a small child was removed. The post was from a legitimate news report. The content of the thread was not surprising, facts and reports being referenced on dog attacks, and emotional appeals along the lines of "I will own whatever dog I want." The point: This post was not different than many here at FR. Facts were being presented and a discussion was being had. Is there a stated criteria here at...

Aside from trying to be cute, AOC seems to be asking questions that may have some Dems and Reps scurrying for cover. Seems to me good questions about means for Congressional corruption. I have no idea what these hearings are. Two thoughts: Looks to me like the Trey Gowdy style of exposing things. Lots of questions, no action. Would love to see AOC's balance sheet two years from now.

On occasion our kids, when little, received Christmas gifts from Grandparents that our kids were not expecting and frankly had no idea of what to do with it. A wood box to our 5 year old son, with nothing in it. Just the box. But it had been his Great Grandfather's and Grandma wanted him to have it. Hope dashed, a tear welled up in his eye but he did not cry. OR the silver Victorian shoe horn that our 6 year old got; it was pretty but she had no idea of how it should be used at Christmas...

The old man walked slowly through the dry, fallen leaves of autumn, his practiced eye automatically choosing the bare and stony places in the trail for his feet. There was scarcely a sound as he passed, though his left knee was stiff with scar tissue. He grunted occasionally as the tight sinews pulled. Damn chainsaw, he thought. Behind him, the boy shuffled along, trying to imitate his grandfather, but unable to mimic the silent motion that the old man had learned during countless winter days upon this wooded mountain in pursuit of game. He's fifteen years old, the old man...

Just finished up Season 6 over the Thanksgiving week. Generally, I thought the characters were interesting and the clash of culture also made for interesting story telling. My only criticism would be all the stupid things the Sheriff's department did in Season 5. Nonetheless; great series and the timing of it coming to a close was just about right. (Unlike "Lost")
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (Why the crass humor?)

Parents need to know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the adventures of Marvel's motley group of space outlaws first introduced in the smash hit Guardians of the Galaxy. Expect lots of interest from kids of all ages, but it's most appropriate for tweens and up. There's frequent fighting with weapons (swords, guns, and more), space chases/battles, executions that involve people being "spaced" (forced out of airlocks to die in the freezing cold of deep space), and more. Spoiler alert: A popular character dies. Language, while not frequent, can also be strong, with everything from "douche" and "d--k"...
  • Mormon church to pull thousands of teens from Boy Scouts of America

Older teenagers will be pulled from the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), the Mormon church announced Thursday. The announcement from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means an estimated 130,000-180,000 teenagers ages 14-18 will no longer participate in Boy Scouts starting next year. The Mormon church is the largest sponsor of Boy Scouts troops in the United States. The Boy Scouts' "Varsity" and "Venturing" programs for older teens had become difficult to implement within the religion, Mormon officials said in a news release. "Instead, Young Men activities will focus on spiritual, social, physical and intellectual outlined by the...
