LAPD should be disbanded. They are NO better than the thugs and gangsters they pretend to police. This is ridiculous. As someone who grew up, and spent my life in los angeles, and recently fled to a free state, I can now safely say the LAPD is no better than any gangster in the neighborhood they supposedly defend. They are as crooked as any blood or crip. They just get a regular paycheck to do as much, as well as a taxpayer funded car and a gun. The biggest bullies of the LA ghetto end up joining the LAPD, they are not moral, or led to serve. They are bullies and crooks. I have never been arrested, never had a bad experience with local police in Idaho. But, i grew up knowing, the LAPD is the ONE group that can brutalize you, then make you disappear, just cause they are in a bad mood. They are no heroes, they ARE the problem.

As a staunch conservative, born and raised in los angeles, and recently escaped to a free state, i can honestly say, the LAPD is as bad, or worse than the thugs they rarely police. Bunch of cowards who won't mess with gangsters, out of fear, but pick on kids, women, and people texting on their phones. This is just another story of the LAPD’s every day events. They are corrupt and wicked beyond repair. They should be disbanded and replaced. LAPD is LA’s biggest problem, even worse than the gangs that rule their hoods. There are the bloods, the crips, the mexican gangs, and the LAPD. None are more moral than the other, the taxpayers just sign one of the groups’ paycheck.

Absolutely no doubt in my mind, this young man is schizophrenic.

I know from experience, since my own brother is diagnosed schizophrenic. I have been with him to group sessions with other people who suffer from the same, and they ALL have these same mannerisms. It only took a few moments of watching that video too see it.

He is just about at the right age for onset, and early on in the disease, it can be mild at times, and severe at other times.

I’m not convinced this guy had any idea these were real people, in a real theater, or if he was in some type of mental video game. Schizophrenia is like that. My brother was convinced he was bugsy malone for half a year. It was not an act. As far as he was concerned, he was.

Someone knew he was ill, and he should have been treated. Many people do many evil acts, and this was a very evil act, but I’m not convinced it truly came from a lucid need to kill people. He is VERY ill.

Oh, and a quick BTW, no extension, even YOUR community will get hit hard. If a lot of people lose their homes, property taxes will go down substantially. That’s where your paycheck comes from, correct? So will sales tax from those who are destitute. Your school will take huge budget cuts. I don’t think they will cut the Math department when those cuts come, but they will probably cut the music department. A marching band is not critical to education, it is fluff. Battman, you might just be writing your own pink slip with your opinion.

Revisited this thread after some time. Hmm, how convenient! You have a government job! You are safe with Obama’s stimulus money! You will retire young, and get a government check and great benefits for life! How nice, and hypocritical for you! Some of us have to work in the private sector. Your paycheck, and wonderful benefits, are paid for by heavy tax burdens on people who could be hiring me! Get rid of your government job, could probably save enough to hire two private sector employees! This is wonderful Battman. You complain about private sector workers leaching, and you are helping to leach their jobs away. Better you keep quiet. I have a feeling your nice Degree in music (really? why does one need to get a bachelor to play music, I play 7 instruments fluently, never needed a degree) came from either a wealthy family, or huge student grants. You surely have a bad attitude for someone who was ‘carried’ their whole life, and has spent their working life collecting a government paycheck and benefits!

(10:1 I say you work for the government, or for family that has hired you on, otherwise, in the private sector, you would realize you re full of crap)

I live in North idaho, just across the border from Spokane WA.
I’ve built radio towers, in my 20’s, that you run your cell phone off of, and hear your radio shows off of. I am HIGHLY skilled, please, mr battman, what is your profession? No details, just what you do.

You are relating my families struggle to Jesse Jacksons statements? I have paid FAR more into taxes, disability, unemployment insurance, etc. than I will EVER see from my measly unemployment check.
So, really HP hired some people in arkansas. Great. These are not new jobs, these are jobs that came from offices being shipped out of california, good for arkansas, not good for the 1200 people out of work in california. There are no new jobs, only poached jobs. Net gain for the country? 0

I hope it rallies like you wish for, but I doubt it. This country has taken such a wide, deep gash, it will probably take a long time to crawl out of. I hope I’m wrong, but without another huge advance (ie .com boost in the 90’s) recovery will be slow. I pray for fast recovery, but I’m becoming far more cynical about it. Politicians don’t care for it, they prefer strife and hardship, makes for good sound bytes on MSNBC.

I have had a job since I was 14 years old (35 now). Problem is, there are NO JOBS! I am a telecommunications expert, and a broadcast engineer. I have tons of experience, and awesome references. I can shoot data at satellites, wire up a whole city with Wifi, run a pro sports stadiums systems without a glitch. I am so highly skilled that it HARMS my job prospects, but cannot even find a job at a grocery store. I’ve applied for jobs at 1/3 my old salary, and can’t even get an e-mail reply, since the companies are so clogged with applicants. We are hurting. I have two young daughters, and a wife, who count on me, and have been out of work for over a year. Only reason we ate well this year is at least i had time to cover every inch of our property with vegetables. We eat what we grow.Winter will be hard.
After the mortgage (humble country home) and the heating bill, we live off of $75 a week (yeah, that’s for gas, food, clothes for a family of 4), with my unemployment insurance, and my wife’s meager earnings.

For those complaining about an extension, you are full of caca. Yes, I agree, that when times are good, unemployment insurance keeps some people from looking for work. Right now is different, there are NO JOBS, not even McDonald’s jobs. We are screwed. I have worked, and paid taxes, consistently for 21 years now, and have been hit by a tidal wave that we call the economy. We do what we can. I have sold my guns, my fishing equipment, all my stuff I have worked and saved for for years. We have run through our savings. Imagine that everything you worked and saved for, your whole life, you had to list and sell on craigslist, the only thing you have left is your family’s home, and jerks online complain that you are watching directv and sitting on the couch having a holiday.

I’m a longtime conservative, and far brighter than most jerks on this site, and you guys have it wrong. Are there people taking advantage of the system? Of course there are, its government, plenty take advantage of everything they can. Myself, and MANY like me just want to work, where shall we go? Will you resign and give your job to me? I’ll gladly switch places on that one! The next person who calls me or people in my position lazy, I challenge them to resign from their job, and offer me their position. Otherwise, shut it!

Many are only thinking of the 99’ers.
I have a different story, and many more like mine, and probably many worse.
I’m an engineer (not an office engineer, a dirty hands, cable pulling engineer), I have been working since I was 14 years old. I have a wife, a 8 year old daughter, and a home we bought just last year. Yes, we had a savings, but put most towards our new home, with a modest amount in reserve (expensive to move across state as well). We didn’t overspend, spent far less than we were qualified for.
Surprise surprise, my company gets bought out(union workplace, seniority clause), I get weeded out. Within days of finding out I have lost my job, I find out my wife is pregnant. Happy to welcome a new child, scared to death how we will do it.
I have not had 99 weeks of UI benefits. I collected 8 weeks, then found temporary work for 16 weeks. when that ended, I resumed my claim. I have NEVER seen anything like this. I’m extremely qualified, and even the jobs I am perfect for, there are over 100 applicants. I’ve reduced myself to jobs that pay 1/4 of what I used to make. They don’t want to talk to me either. Perhaps they think I will just leave when a better position shows up? I cannot blame them, since I probably would. You would too.
Here’s the thing. I collect my last check next week. 26 weeks in total. If I collected it last week, I would have 20 weeks left. Nov 30th deadline puts me in the cross hairs.
I’m not asking for 99 weeks, but need a chance. There are NO JOBS! Not kidding!
99% of companies don’t even reply or call back, the few that do, say there are over a hundred applicants, and that they will wait to fill the position (get it filled as cheaply as possible).
I have paid for YEARS into the system, never taken a government check in my life. I have a young daughter, and a pregnant wife, that count on me, and I’m not sure how to tell them we are up the creek. Over the last few months I’ve sold my fishing and hunting gear that I have saved up for, and collected for years, without my wife knowing I was getting rid of it, to make ends meet when unemployment was not enough.
So, if I’m cut off, first I lose my car. Hard to find work, while living in a rural area with no car. Then we lose our home.
Desperation? I have never so much as stolen a pack of gum in my life, but getting scared of my own self right now. This was our only lifeline.

So, stop talking about 99 weeks, that is a fraction of the people that are being left in the cold. Everyone is going down. Think about 2 million new homeless. Homeless with families. Many who are brighter, more capable, and much harder working than yourself. How confident do you feel?

This is true. A sick little side note, is that of the use of toilet paper. Apparently, these country folks, from central aAmerica, do not flush toilets back home. I work at a race track, with many mexicans working on the backside. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. These folks don’t know toilet paper can be flushed, so they wipe there butts and toss the used paper on the floor, not in the trash, but ON THE FLOOR. Signs have been up for years, in spanish , saying its ok to flush the TP, but it never gets through. Still, day after day, stinky, gross used toilet paper on the floors, buzzing with flies. Totally nasty....

So, I will gladly and proudly bring Cali with me.

What will I bring? the spirit that is the epicenter of our armed forces. Air Force and Marine corps are based in Cali. Aerospace, from JPL, to Lockhead, To grumman, to ALL our new aircraft and test aircraft, resides in Cali, a short drive from where I call home.

Twice a month I go shotgunning with friends from raytheon/grumman who are designing our satellites which direct all our intelligence for our military. It all happens here, for now. The state has just decided it doesn’t care for that anymore.

Good riddance to the government. Long live the patriotic residents of the state.

OK, the first post I did not take offense to. Was just joking. This one I do take offense to. California is packed with good, conservative, freedom loving folks. LOTS of them. Our Federal government has left the borders wide open. In addition, irresponsible parents from the midwest,northeast/other areas raised the children poorly, and sent them off to us.

Up until recently, we were the soul of western conservatism. From John Wayne, to Ronald Reagan. We got stuck with all your hippie rejects. Thanks for that!

    Now the state is screwed.

I still stand by the fact that it is the most beautiful state in the union, for sure, and obviously the best weather. (without any reason for debate, best looking women)

We got screwed since everyone sent us their rejects.

The native californians are wonderful. The ones from Ohio (especially) Indiana, Illinios, Michigan, etc. screwed the place up. Take those a-holes back and I’m happy to stay. Till then, do not judge. My mother in law went to high school in los angeles, and they had the rifle club in a los angeles area high school. Kept their 22’s in their locker.

We didn’t do this to the state, the invaders did. The illegals are the most recent invaders. The midwest invaders are the ones who set the stage and created the problem.

If you are from Texas or New Hampshire, you are good.If you are from the midwest, I hold you personally responsible.

I know. Already have a realtor in North Idaho. I am begrudgingly moving my wife and daughter far north for a few months (happy they will be safe, sad that I won’t be around for a few months), so we can save money for the house. This state is Screwed. Problem is, the money is really good right now where I’m working. Just have to wait it out 6 more months, and I’ll have a nice house near the lake in Idaho. Sadly enough, been looking for a temp. apartment in just that area since it is dirt cheap, to save for the family home. I’m 6’3”, 225, and armed. I think I’ll last the 6 months easy, and have a nice chunk of change to show for it. As long as the fam is safe.

I drive this intersection almost daily, very sketchy, but it’s my shortcut. Not a bit surprised. It is one of the dividing lines between mexican/black neighborhoods, and the mexicans are beginning to rule.

I would not buy a taco there, but you can get flowers, pinatas, and oranges there most of the time. A few places to buy used tires at the corner as well.

Again, its sketchy, keep the doors locked.

There is an apartment building half a block away that persistently offers 2 months free rent o move in! Sounds like a deal, right?

Oddly enough, it is only a few short blocks from probably the best Indian food restaurant in the South Bay. Go figure....

I must disagree here. I see so much Hunter support in this board. This is positive since he is consistently on the right side of most issues. There are a few gaping holes in Old Duncan though....

First, to me, as a former resident of his district, and having met him twice, and listened to him speak on several occasions, he is absolutely unlikeable. He is smug, arrogant, and has poor manners. He is the guy at the Cadillac dealership. Selling a piece of crap, and talking it up like its God’s gift. He is rude, and looks down upon everyone who meets with. That smug smile in the debates, thats his attitude to people. ‘You are not worthy’. Of course, this is personal, but I doubt that I’m the only one who recognizes an A hole when they see one.

2nd point: being solid conservative is what has kept him in power as a career politician. His district is nearly all military and military families. He votes the way he does, cause thats his bread money, maybe he believes it, maybe not. Hard to tell. When being pro-military, having a 90% pro-military consticuency is very easy.

Many believe Duncan to be very consistent. He is, but the reasons why are not clear. Is it because he really is, or just because he runs in line with the vast majority of voters in his area, and wants to keep power.

Sorry, I don’t trust Hunter for 1 second .My basis for this is, I rarely, if ever trust a career politician, and Duncan embodies this. He has worked for the government his entire life in any meaningful way, that makes him a non-conservative out of the gate, so those who say he is the ONLY conservative, you are wrong, he is possibly the most establishment-career-politician-gambler in the repub nomination. He is now passing his house seat on to his son, such as a king, and taking YOUR money to finance it. This guy is inside politics to the limit. Not my cup of tea.Sorry to offend, the many I probably did, but Duncan is no savior. He is in this game for his own benefit, not to attempt to turn this county towards a brighter course. He retires, takes a huge pension, and lives off the government. His son takes his old job and eventually does the same. This is not the DNA of a leader.
