Finish reading the rest of the account:
Numbers 11:But as everyone began eating the meat, the anger of the Lord rose against the people and He killed large numbers of them with a plague. So the name of that place was called, "The Place of the Graves Caused by Lust", because they buried the people there who had lusted for meat and for Egypt.

I am a vegetarian, but I am WELL aware of the hypocrisy of some of the vegan crowd, most notably the people in hollywood who pretend to love animals, yet they slaughter human children. So I am aware of this.

But here's an interesting question. In the wilderness God gave the Israelites manna to eat. The Bible - my Bible - says it tasted like a coriander seed. It was more than likely a vegetable. The question is, what did God end up doing to the people who were pining for Egypt, and the flesh they used to eat in Egypt?
    It's a real interesting account.
Also, an interesting account in Daniel of what Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah ate. Says they had a vegan diet of veggies and water.
Not to make any enemies here(chuckle)

I have read a little over half of the replies.I haven't read all, so if someone mentioned this, my apologies.

You know all these parsings of words reminds me of - anybody remember Clinton?
I'm not a dillar or dollar or an Aramaic/Greek/whatever scholar. I trust that the Bible that I read has the power of God upon it, so that I can KNOW God from reading the Bible. And I DO believe there are extra sources that have God's spirit upon them.
Not just a certain version of the Bible.
However, from reading the Bible I know that, in the Gospel of John Chapter 7, Jesus' 'brothers' - half, step, I don't KNOW - said to Him, "GO, where more people can see your 'miracles'" they scoffed."You can't be famous when you hide like this! If you're so great, PROVE it to the world!"

So much for His 'brothers'. Maybe they radically changed after the Resurrection.

There is also the time of the Crucifixion, where the following is recorded in The Gospel of John:
When Jesus saw His mother standing there beside me, His close friend, He said to her, "He is your son."
And to me He said, "She is your mother!" And from then on I took her into my home."

That Scripture says volumes to me. It says more than the words written on an ossuary, as to whom Jesus considered His true Brother.

My own opinion is - if James were Mary's son - then WHERE in the HELL was James?????? Nowhere around was he? It was John the son of Zebedee who became a son to Mary and took her into his home.

So the discovered ossuary is great for chit-chatting about in 2003. But it doesn't mean a whole lot.

And by the way, as some posters have pointed out, these people on the extreme left aren't just anti-Bush. They are anti-the silent majority, that ain't quite so silent anymore.

    hey miniature,
    your words, not mine.
Abortion IS dismembering children. Reminds me of Pink Floyd's "One Of These Days(I'm Going To Cut You Into Little Pieces.)" Could be the Anthem for the Extreme Religious LEFT.
Of course with Floyd it's satire, but with the demoncrats they're dead serious. Dead. Serious.
Abortion IS war. And Robbins is an anti-Bush, PRO-war hypocrite. Why you're defending him is your problem.

To explain myself a little further.
Unlike some people, I DON'T believe that Catholics are trying to "earn" their way to Heaven. I think they want to obey God because they LOVE God. Novel concept. It's that simple. If He is our Father, we will obey Him. I'm not saying Christians don't occasionally sin. But occasionally is a far cry from chronic.
To me, Catholics REALLY DO MEAN "Thy Kingdom come, THY Will be done On earth as it is in Heaven."

I say the 10 Commandments because they're God's Laws, not man's laws. Man's laws aren't worth the paper they're written on.

I am not Catholic but I LOVE the Catholic Church. To me, they ARE more like Christ. If we love God, we will obey God, certainly obey those 10 Commandments. It's all about walking the walk, and not just lip-service.

I just want to post these lonely Scriptures real quick for all of the people who think that human beings are constantly sinning, and that people can't stop sinning:
    Revelation 22:
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

    Jesus speaking, Matthew 19:
17"You can get to Heaven if you keep the Commandments."
18 "Which ones?" the man asked .
And Jesus replied, "Don't kill, don't commit adultery, don't steal, don't lie,
19 Honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself!"

    Jesus speaking, Matthew 5:
17 "DON'T misunderstand why I have come. It isn't to cancel the laws of Moses and the warnings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them and to make them all come true.
18 With all the earnestness I have I say: every law in the Book will continue until it's purpose is achieved.
19 And so if anyone breaks the least Commandment, and teaches others to, he shall be the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But those who teach God's Laws and obey them shall be great in the Kingdom of Heaven."

    Jesus speaking, Matthew 7:
21 Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They MAY refer to me as 'Lord' but STILL won't get to heaven.
For the decisive question is whether they OBEY my FATHER in Heaven.
22 At the Judgement many will tell me, "Lord, Lord, we told others about you and used your name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles."
23 But *I* will reply, "You have NEVER been mine. Go away, for your deeds are evil."

    Jesus speaking, Matthew 4:
17 "Turn FROM sin, and turn TO God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near."

wow there's a mouthful. Of course you can understand a boycott by the Extreme LEFT - you ARE one of them.
And just for the record, just so you know, The Extreme Religious LEFT is not opposed to war. They like to make believe that they are opposed to war. They're good at make-believe. Or I should say they're good at lying to themselves. But they didn't oppose the war Saddam carried out against his own people. They didn't CARE that Iraqis were being tortured and killed by Saddam.
And they themselves -consisting of Robbins, Sarandon, Hitlery and the other "I Never Met A Child I Didn't Want To Dismember" demo(n)crats - WAGE WAR almost 24/7 against innocent helpless children.
To use your own words, "It's WAR for pete's sake. Surely there should be as much debate and national soul searching as possible."
But there hasn't been has there. We've just had to live with the intolerant, Extreme Religious LEFT shoving their beliefs down our throats.

organized boycotts "freak you out" - you mean like the very organized boycott that the Extreme Religious LEFT carried out against Dr. Laura Schlessinger? Did THAT one freak you out? I sure hope there are records of you speaking out in support of Dr. Laura against the extreme left-wing bigots who harrassed her and helped damage her livlihood. Otherwise you're just a...hypocrite....

    Hi,
sounds like you have a nice system.
Somehow I missed Pink Floyd in my youth.
I was a YES fan(atic). I didn't find Floyd until late in life; my daughter about 4 years back gave me a cd of Delicate Sound of Thunder,
and I was hooked. It took me two years to get through that two cd set, because the songs were that incredible, that it took that long to 'digest' them, or to get them totally integrated into my being.
It was the best gift I've ever been given. I think now is probably the best time in my life for them, anyway, as I can truly appreciate the music.
Since then I have SERIOUSLY added to my PF collection, working to get the studio versions of the songs on DSoT, and of course found other gems on the studio versions. Like, for instance, I got Meddle to have the studio version of "One of These Days" and was lucky enough to get "Echoes" along with it. Plus I wanted some of their earlier works. Like Embryo, and Several Species of Small Furry Animals.
Can't even imagine growing tired of Floyd.
