17 Air Force combat wings are non-mission ready, 80% of Army Brigade Combat Teams have canceled training, 650,000 DoD employees are taking a 20% pay cut, thousands of defense related jobs have been lost, contracts have been canceled, depot maintenance on ships and aircraft is in the gutter, etc.

But, we just "gave" $162 Million in "aid" to Syrian Muslim "rebels" and now this fiasco.

Congress screwed the military in the Sequester deal, and allow the Obama administration to get away with crap like this.

There is no port in this storm.

The school's believe they have authority over parents - and with good reason. The state has the authority to prosecute parents who interfere with the school, and the state can (and does) take children away from parents.

This isn't just an ethereal notion: there are court precedents and police records to back up the ugly truth that parents are on the losing end.

The Master - Servant relationship has been turned on its head. The government was meant to serve the people, not the other way around.

There are 1.5 million members on active duty, 860,000 members in the Reserve, and 500,000 in the National Guard. There are 800,000 DoD civilians - 90% of whom are about to take a 20% pay cut. Millions working for the Defense Industry or industries related to the national defense, and thousand of defense workers have already been laid off, or are facing lay offs.

The GOP has abandoned the military. The DoD was cut $487 Billion BEFORE Sequestration took another $650 Billion, and still the GOP cheers this travesty on.

It is far worse for a person under the age of fifty. It is estimated that a forty year old worker who has paid into the system since age 18, making the average monthly income of $3,009. month and retires at 67 would have to live to 115years and 7months to get their ‘investment’ plus interest in Social Security benefits back. That is if the system hasn’t collapsed, which it most certainly would have by the time they are set to retire. Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme as is Medicare. Had a private corporation set up such a decidedly generational theft program, they would be doing more time than Bernie Madoff.

For some reason, my first post was deleted, but to reiterate - we are about to have generational warfare in this nation.

I have no problem taking care of seniors. But today's seniors are have levied trillions in unfunded liabilities on tomorrow's seniors, in effect - stealing the future from tomorrow's seniors, and tomorrow is very close at hand.

Moreover, I do believe we need to quickly (like yesterday) establish unearned entitlement reform. Unearned entitlements are Food Stamps, Section 8 vouchers, home energy payments, TANF Welfare (T stands for "temporary"....isn't that humorous?), the Earned Income Tax Credit (which was never earned because they don't pay taxes!), and a host of over 70 other welfare programs.

These HAVE TO STOP - at least in their current form.

Medicare, Medicaid, and ObamaCare are bankrupting this nation, and we have to get our arms around medical costs. The procedures, tests, and drugs in our nation cost 3 to 4 times what they cost in other developed nations.

Lawyers are huge part of this problem, but the other problem we have is the medical establishment is setting their own prices, compounded by the fact that our insurance companies pass the inflated costs onto those who are actually paying for their insurance in order to cover the moochers.

I hate the Clintonian word "Investments" - because it is all government spending. But discretionary spending does give us NASA, medical research grants to our best universities, defense research and manufacturing, ship building, infrastructure, and our brave military.

We are almost at 2/3rds of all spending going to direct deposits or checks to individuals and government health-care (right now the figure is 63%). And the trend is more, more, more Entitlement spending.

Because of this, we are becoming a weaker nation - militarily, morally, and fiscally.

That is a true statement. Sequestration does nothing to address the real cause of debt and deficits - Entitlement spending. Yet, neither party has little political will to address the real problem.

I agree with a flat tax. If enacted, along with Entitlement reform, we would be well on our way to reducing deficits AND the GOP could become the party of Growth again, instead of trying to sell itself as the party of "Sequestration Austerity."

I agree with your outrage that we have almost 11 million people on Social Security Disability now, but those direct deposit checks to people not working are EXEMPT from Sequestration, as are Food Stamps and almost all Entitlements, including TANF welfare and ObamaCare. So we have 63% of spending exempt from Sequestration, with the other 37% of discretionary spending absorbing 100% of the cuts. The formula the Republicans agreed to with the 2011 Budget Control Act that gave us this abortion levies 50% of all cuts on the military despite it being only 17% of the overall budget, and it is the one Federal agency that has done the most dying, the most wounded, and has endured the greatest sacrifices to their personal lives and the lives of their families than ANY other group of Americans. Period.

You see, the Takers are doing just fine during Sequestration. It is the working man who gets out of bed to labor at a Navy Yard, making about $30K a year who will get his pay cut 20%, while "Da Fud Stamp" crowd gets not one less nickel. Did know that if you qualify for even $1 of home heating assistance under the revised rules, then you automatically qualify for Food Stamps? It's true.

You seem like a good patriot, but your outrage should not be focused on people who are themselves working, paying taxes, and raising families while the thug Taker class skates by.
