My husband began a new job west of Charlotte, NC recently. We are not familiar with the area yet, but what we have seen feels very busy and chaotic. Are there any Freepers from the area that can tell us about some good places to live west of Charlotte with a slower pace? Thank you in advance!

Three years ago our family moved to Aiken County, SC. We did not know anything about this area and were wonderfully surprised by the charming town of Aiken. Virtually every Californian knows Davis screwed up last year. Even Finestein and Boxer admit he did and are trying to fix the expensive mess he created. So, how come no other democrat ran against Davis in the primary? The guy is completely incompetent when things get bumpy and we all know the chance of more terrorist attacks are likely, so what's up with that?

Last week I heard an advertisement about an air purifier that eliminates bad odors from homes, cars, etc. The technology is based on the claim the production of ozone and negative ions will cause odors and particles in the air to become "heavy" and fall to the ground. I am very skeptical, however, I would love something that kept my home from smelling muggy. I was wondering if anyone has one of these systems, the brand, and if it works or not. Last Saturday my husband and I went across the boarder from San Diego to get real vanilla extract. Before we crossed over, I noticed two things that were not the norm from my previous visits: bikes were chained to everything and there were very few non-hispanics. I recalled hearing on the radio in mid-September that many commuters from Mexico were riding bikes across the boarder and then taking the trolley to work. Attention North County San Diego Freepers. Are you aware of the "Save the Chickens" issue near Bantiquas Lagoon? On the corner of Adams St and Chinquapin Ave there is an old house with a barn that is home to 15 chickens. Neighbors often see the chickens looking for bugs along the side of the road, or the owners chasing the chickens back into the yard. It is a very amusing sight in this ever growing area.It would seem that someone ruined the party and complained about the chickens.
