He said it was important to take a stand against the declining standards of college debate.

A mother in Dallas is one of several parents complaining about a new interactive book for toddlers in which Sesame Street character Elmo asks "who wants to die?" according to a Local 6 News report. Family members said 16-month-old Miranda Boll's new book, "Potty Time With Elmo," was supposed to teach an interactive lesson using voice commands. However, when the book's buttons are pressed, it reportedly says something it is not supposed to -- "who wants to die?" "It's a sick joke," mother Angela Bolls said. "If it's a joke then it's a bad one, you know? And it's not...

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Ask any Hollywood studio executive whether 2005 was a good year and you'll get an emphatic no. That's because the major studios are under severe duress and they know it. MGM and DreamWorks, the last two studios that were not part of larger corporations, were sold to a consortium led by Sony Pictures Entertainment and to Paramount Pictures, respectively. And well paid studio execs are scrambling to preserve the status quo even as box office and DVD profits are on the wane and new digital distribution paradigms challenge current ways of doing business. As ever,...

Clint Eastwood has chillingly warned documentary-maker Michael Moore he'll face certain death if he ever points his camera at him. Picking up a Special Film-making Achievement prize for Million Dollar Baby at the National Board Of Review Awards dinner in New York on Tuesday, Eastwood urged the Fahrenheit 9/11 director to avoid making him the subject of a future project if he values his life. However, Eastwood - a staunch supporter of the Republicans - did admit he and Moore have a shared view of how American society should operate. He said, "Michael Moore and I actually have a lot...

LONDON (AFP) - Nearly half of Britons have never heard of the Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz in southern Poland, according to a BBC television poll that was conducted just ahead of the 60th anniversary of the camp's liberation. AFP/File Photo Forty-five percent of the 4,000 people questioned for the survey by BBC Two said they had never heard of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, the television channel said Thursday. The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is due to broadcast several documentaries on the "Final Solution", the Nazi's plan to obliterate European Jewry, including on Auschwitz, for the 60th anniversary of the concentration...
