The trial of Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students, will be moved to Boise, the Idaho State Supreme Court ruled Thursday. The State Supreme Court granted a ‘change of venue’ motion, which will move the trial from its current location in Latah County, in North Idaho, down south to the capital in Ada County. This comes nearly two years after the murders took place. Bryan Kohberger is accused of murdering University of Idaho students Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves in an off-campus house in Nov. 2022. The house was located...

University of Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger looked scruffy in a new mugshot after being flown hundreds of miles in preparation for his trial. Kohberger, 29, was flown Sunday to Idaho’s capital, Boise, after being granted a change of venue to take his trial away from Latah County, where he’s accused of brutally stabbing the four students in their rental home in Moscow. Kohberger was seen arriving in Boise on a small plane and was transferred to a Black SUV in an orange jumpsuit and cuffs. A new mugshot taken on his arrival at the Ada County Sheriff’s Office shows...

Has anybody experienced DNS not resolving a business URL correctly? I buy sleep apnea supplies from Verus Healthcare (www.verus.com). When I got to verus.com, DNS is resolving to LinkedIn! It is resolving to a specific person profile on LinkedIn, too, not just the general address for LinkedIn (it resolves to Joshua Schoen on LinkedIn). In fact, it is entering Joshua Schoen's name in the search box in LinkedIn. I tried three different browsers on my Mac (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). Same results. I cleared the cache in the browsers. Same results in all three. I restarted my Mac. Same results. Then...
  • Anarcho-Tyranny

Anarcho-tyranny refers to a societal condition where the state fails to enforce basic law and order against serious crimes (anarchy) but simultaneously imposes excessive control, regulation, and punishment on ordinary, law-abiding citizens (tyranny). The goal of anarcho-tyranny is to maintain power and control by targeting the compliant majority while neglecting or enabling more serious, disruptive elements within society. This dynamic serves to suppress dissent and maintain the status quo, often at the expense of individual freedoms and true justice. The concept of anarcho-tyranny was coined by Samuel T. Francis. His “Leviathan and Its Enemies: Mass Organization and Managerial Power in...
  • Fire marshal: Grease accumulation sparked Wolf Lodge blaze (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho)

    Coeur d'Alene Press ^ | September 12, 2024 | Bill Buley
The Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office said Thursday that grease accumulation was the cause of the Labor Day fire that destroyed the iconic Wolf Lodge Steakhouse. "It was determined that a breach in the flue pipe above the kitchen’s wood-fired grill allowed an accumulation of grease to form on the flue piping and inside the attic. This build-up of grease ignited and spread to the remainder of the building," a press release said. "The fire was classified as accidental." Jason Blubaum, state deputy fire marshal, was one of the investigators of the scene the day after the blaze. (nothing left...
  • Impact of the IRA on U.S. Renewable Energy Manufacturing and Supply Chains

The Inflation Reduction Act was designed to enhance domestic manufacturing and secure domestic supply chains...the bill extended the Clean Energy Tax Credit of up to 30% credit for qualifying investments in wind, solar, energy storage and other renewable projects that meet prevailing wage standards and employ a sufficient proportion of qualified apprentices from registered apprenticeship programs. Plus, a bonus credit of up to 10 percentage points for qualifying clean energy investments in energy communities. The federal tax credit stands at 30% until 2033, then 26% in 2034. From the onset of the IRA, sections 48C and 45X were lacking in...
  • Explain Yourself, Kamala Harris!

So we've been through an entire debate, and Kamala Harris still hasn't explained any of her extraordinary policy flip-flops. A person can't just wake up one morning and abandon their entire worldview without an explanation. ...they can try, but no sensible person would take them seriously. Sure, politicians have been calibrating and triangulating their positions since Pericles. Most have been compelled to explain their ideological evolution — or have the decency to lie about it. None has ever relied on an army of anonymous campaign flacks to erase a lifetime of positions. Well, not until Harris. We all understand Democrats...

For Trump, then, the task of the debate was threefold: to hammer the point that Kamala Harris is responsible for the failed policies of the Biden-Harris White House, and that he is the agent of change — a proposition with which the majority of Americans tend to agree; to drive home that Harris is actually dangerously far-left, and that she is lying about her current policy positions in order to protect them from scrutiny; and that she is incompetent, having blown every single task she has ever been handed. In short, Harris is a cipher; it is Trump's job to...
  • The many, nasty faces of Kamala Harris: VP only reinforced the fatal inauthenticity of her debate performance

The smart analysis of the first — and maybe only — debate of the Trump-Harris presidential cycle is that Donald Trump blew it. The former president, winging it as usual, missed numerous “kill shots,” was frustratingly imprecise and allowed himself to be baited by Kamala Harris. But on the optics, Harris committed far worse self-harm. If you switched off the sound for the ABC debate Tuesday night and just watched the images, you would come away feeling deep distaste for the haughty flibbertigibbet who kept making faces while Trump was speaking. Harris’ split-screen pantomime made her seem unserious and unlikable...

A killer disease turns up out of the blue. It moves by “stealth transmission”, spreading before symptoms even show. Once it takes hold, it is already too late to stop it – there is no cure. ..."Tropical Race 4" (TR4) is a disease that affects bananas. Also known as Panama Disease, it is a fungus that has been rampaging through banana farms the past 30 years...within the last decade the epidemic has accelerated, spreading from Asia to Australia, the Middle East, Africa and more recently Latin America, where the majority of the bananas shipped to supermarkets in the global north...
  • Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Considering 31 Million Acres of U.S. Public Lands for Solar Power Development

The Bureau of Land Management has published details of a plan to make millions of acres of public lands across the western U.S. available for development of solar power. The Western Solar Plan, which revises guidelines from more than a decade ago, was published in the Federal Register on August 30, 2024. The BLM said the plan would make 31 million acres of public lands (that is 48,437 square miles!) available for potential solar energy development. The new proposal seeks to bring solar projects to 11 states. The plan would place development closer to existing or planned power transmission lines,...

A dealership took a 2017 Genesis G90 in on trade decided to auction it off. It was listed as having an oil pressure issue, suggesting that it needed a new engine. Nobody even came near it. It just sat there week after week, waiting for someone to take it home. Nobody did until the dealership put it up for "make an offer." Sam took a gamble, offered half of the initial price for the seven-year-old sedan, and soon had it shipped to his home. He bought the car for $12,100 plus a $500 auction fee, which is less than half...

A Post Falls resident may begin collecting a $1.1 million judgment against the blogger who defamed him, a judge ruled Wednesday. In May, a Kootenai County jury unanimously found that Summer Bushnell defamed Eric Posey when she falsely accused him of exposing himself during Pride in the Park 2022. Bushnell asked the court earlier this month to stay enforcement of the judgment while she appeals the case. First District Judge Ross Pittman denied Bushnell’s request Wednesday. “It’s on you, Ms. Bushnell, to show good cause, and you have not done so here today,” Pittman said. Bushnell, who is now representing...

This is the most powerful explanation of the evil of abortion I've seen. This two minute video on abortion is worth watching. There is no accompanying text with the video of Seth Gruber with Pastor Jack Hibbs. Yes, it was originally posted on TikTok, but don't let that deter you. It has been reposted on X by Brandon Morse with the explanation "I’ve never seen abortion described this way as a concept and now I’ll never look at it the same. It truly is a display of contempt against Christ when you strip away all the window dressing."

US stocks closed at session highs on Monday after posting their best week in a year as the markets continued to rally in a sharp turnaround from their early August sell-off. The S&P 500 rose nearly 1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also gained 0.6%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite increased roughly more than 1.4%. Technology and Consumer Discretionary stocks led the gains, as the S&P 500 stretched its daily wins to eight, its longest streak since November of last year, according to Bespoke Investment data. The Nasdaq also logged its an eighth consecutive session win as shares of chip...

As speaker of the California State Assembly from 1980 to 1995, Willie Brown was California's most powerful shot-caller. In 1994 Brown, 60, met Kamala Harris, 30 years his junior, and she became “the Speaker’s new steady,” Brown’s “girlfriend” and “frequent companion.” The two-year relationship worked out well for Harris. Willie Brown appointed Harris to the state Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board ($97k a year). She served six months and Brown then appointed her to the California Medical Assistance Commission, which met only once a month but paid Harris $72,000. Call it “POONTRONAGE,” a politician’s appointment of his steady girlfriend and main...

A camera inside a house caught this bad (but fortunate) dog in the act of burning down his owner’s house, and now fire officials are using this video as a cautionary tale against the “dangers of lithium-ion batteries” and rechargeable electronics (click image to watch on X): ...the fire was “destructive” and caused “significant damage” to the home but miraculously, no one was hurt, and the three pets seen in the video all got out of the home through a doggie door; firefighters also took the opportunity to remind people of this: Lithium-ion batteries can explode and spark fires when...
