LONDON (AP) — Art prankster Banksy has struck again. A work by the elusive street artist self-destructed in front of startled auction-goers on Friday, moments after being sold for 1.04 million pounds ($1.4 million). The spray-painted canvas “Girl With Balloon” went under the hammer at Sotheby’s in London, fetching more than three times its pre-sale estimate and equaling a record price for the artist. Then, as an alarm sounded, it ran through a shredder embedded in the frame, leaving half the canvas hanging...

That’s according to an indictment issued Friday that says the officers developed malicious computer code known as malware, hacked into Democratic Party computers and silently watched as unknowing staffers typed. Washington (CNN)An emergency alert notification sent out on Saturday claiming a "ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii" was a false alarm, according to state leaders and emergency officials. As more and more women step forward to give public testimony about their alleged abuse at the hands of Hollywood power — Harvey Weinstein, Ben Affleck, Amazon Studios chief Roy Price — more and more women are coming out about their alleged abuse at the hands of Hollywood power. Funny how that works. And on Friday morning, three-time Oscar winner Oliver Stone was added to the list. New York Daily News: Carrie Stevens, a former Playboy Playmate, claims that some 26 years ago, when she was just 22 years-old, Stone grabbed her breast at a party. “He was really cocky,...

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) appeared on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Thursday to discuss the news from Wednesday's James Comey hearing. More specifically, the topic was the FBI director revealing that longtime Hillary Clinton advisor Huma Abedin forwarded classified emails to then-husband Anthony Weiner, ostensibly so he could print them out. “Do you believe that is a crime?” panelist Willie Geist asked to open the Blumenthal interview. “If there was classified information and it was improperly passed to a person unauthorized to receive it? Yes, it’s a crime,” the senator replied. ”Without knowing what the intentions were and so forth, there...

Officers were booking 23-year-old Jesse O’Neal Roberts into jail when a pistol fell out of his buttocks, initially giving them the impression that Roberts was defecating on himself. The incident occurred at Alabama’s Limestone County Jail. According to AL.com, deputies received a call “about a prowler” and arrived at the address to find Roberts being held at gunpoint by the resident. Deputy Chad Harbin said Roberts “was showing signs of impairment,” so he arrested him on public intoxication. They drove Roberts to jail and, upon arriving, a corrections officer noted that Roberts was walking “strangely.” While Roberts was being booked...

It’s no secret that HBO wanted “Westworld” to be their next “Game of Thrones, given their relentless work on hyping it up in the months leading up to its premiere. It could have been a hard sell. It’s a sci-fi/western mash-up loosely based on a little known but critically acclaimed Michael Crichton film (an original one at that and one of a handful of directorial credits for the bestselling novelist). Its heady premise – a futuristic, Wild West-styled theme park featuring lifelike synthetic “hosts” slowly becoming sentient – could have fallen flat. With an incredibly talented cast featuring the likes...
