Dozens detained in federal prison awaiting trial following the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol building are being subject to solitary confinement, lack of required medical care, and restricted access to defense counsel, according to two attorneys and the father of a defendant. Of the close to 500 arrests made so far in connection with the Jan. 6 incident, lawyers John Pierce and Steven Metcalf II, who represent several of the defendants, told EpochTV’s “The Nation Speaks” that some detainees who are being held pre-trial face solitary confinement for 23 hours a day in conditions that are “unconstitutional” and...

Contents of article...Imagine a disease that is infectious yet not contagious, has 100 percent mortality, virtually no diagnostic test to confirm it, and no effective treatment. When FIP becomes a possibility for a pet cat, questions abound yet not nearly enough are answered plus there is a great deal of older information still circulating. We decided to cover some basics here. What is FIP? Is FIP Contagious? How Can an Infectious Disease not be Contagious? Transformation of Coronavirus into FIP Virus What do we Know about the Feline Enteric Coronavirus? Why isn’t the Mutated Virus Contagious? How is it Possible...

I mentioned with Tucker the other night the condescension of Gentleman Jim Acosta, who airily presumes that, if you're a woman, any woman, you believe the accuser and assume this Kavanaugh guy is a serial gang-rapist. That's how it goes: Identity politics makes moron cultures of formerly sophisticated societies. So it was inevitable that when a picture from yesterday's hearing popped up, of the judge with three females sitting behind him, the wankerati of Twitter immediately assumed that they were just three regular all-American women staring in disgust at the rape beast of Bethesda. In fact, they were Kavanaugh's wife,...

"Hitler was duly elected by the German people, right? That is what we’ve all been told, anyway. The truth, however, is something else entirely and it is very relevant to present-day America. Hitler and his National Socialists were elected in 1933 because for a full decade prior they have been instituting an ever increasing campaign of intimidation against political opponents at every level from local councils, to states, to the federal government and the judiciary. Hitler, the prototypical post-industrial revolution bully, perfected, perhaps even invented, the bully’s quintessential tool of getawaywithit-ism. This tool, like all effective tools, is very simple...

Many dogs have been victims of breed-specific legislation (BSL) in the past, and no breed knows this better than the Staffordshire bull terrier breed. Purebreds, mixes or dogs with “block heads” get labeled as pit bulls, and media stories have sensationalized the supposed dangers of these dogs. Their owners have been fighting back for years and continue to advocate for them. Despite these reportedly “dangerous” dogs, there are many of them contradicting the hype by being ambassadors of the breed through their work. Here we look at some of the pit bulls giving the breed a good name.

"Ray was one of the former Michael Vick dogs — a Vicktory dog, as this troupe is known. And like so many of the dogs rescued out of the horrific Bad Newz Kennels in 2007, Ray went from the worst kind of cruelty to the sort of bliss only known to spoiled dogs who get to sleep in their indulgent humans’ beds. Ray died last weekend, after surgery to have his spleen removed."...

I've been doing a little before sleep reading of my old journals as I lay in my bed at night and I came upon this segment from the time of Watergate, that strikes me a relevant again, and perhaps more so, in these days... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Feb.04/74 'Read something in Plato's Gorgias that seems to apply to the current situation in the U.S.A.'... "When the state attempts to bring any of its public men to account as wrong-doers, I find that they take it very hard and raise a great outcry that they are being monstrously treated;their complaint is that after...

Public Security Minister Martin Coiteux announced Quebec is dropping breed-specific clauses in Bill 128, the province’s framework legislation on dogs. The move comes just as the bill heads into the clause-by-clause stage of the adoption process at the National Assembly. “There is no scientific consensus that the idea of going so far as to designate a ban on a specific race (of dogs) is applicable,” Coiteux told reporters. “This came across very strongly during hearings (into the bill) and I believe when we make laws they need to be based on objective scientific facts.” The issue of targeting specific breeds...

For a purebred dog and, on occasion, even a first-generation hybrid, breed-inference services often just confirm what the dog owner already knows. Sometimes a pedigree is available, tracing back through multiple generations of purebred ancestors and providing essentially complete information about the pet’s ancestry. In other cases, an owner’s extensive experience leads to correct intuition that ears that floppy together with a nose that keen must indicate complete or near-complete beagle ancestry. By contrast, when applied to investigate the ancestry of a mutt, DNA-based inference often yields surprising conclusions.

Donald Trump a moron? Hardly. Far from being a moron, the US president is actually a pretty smart cookie. A smart cookie is what Trump called North Korean strongman Kim Jong-un. Recent events, unimaginable just months ago, show both are smart in very different ways. Kim is a calculating chameleon who can order the ruthless murder of his uncle and brother yet charm Chinese leader Xi Jinping into thawing the chill between them. Trump is no murderer but is cocksure smart, a cowboy-style leader with his finger on the trigger. He figuratively shoots first and asks questions later. Kim shoots...
