I have noticed a TERRIBLE trend of pessimism on Free Republic lately though. There are a LOT of us who seem to take good news as only a prelude to bad. That is a horrible attitude.

I honestly think you have nothing to worry about (hopefully) ... at this point, anyone who wants the IRS managing their health care (remember, low information voters had no idea until the present scandal) is just plain nuts ...

Sorry ... This is a new era ... I don’t respect anyone who spouts the “Wahh wahh! Back then we didn’t what we wanted!” meme. This is a new era and the offenses are stunningly worse.

Sorry Kev. EVERYONE, low information or not, is noticing this, because the Regime made the fatal mistake of making this about the IRS ... an agency R’s and D’s hate equally ... You can stick up for this Administration all you want ... But I think Mr. Obama’s check has been cashed.

Well, yeah, but let’s remember there are different “thems” coming along all the time. Might be a “them” in one of those Congressional staffs who’s an actual bulldog and has some influence on the usually-meek Congresscritter. But in any event, I’ll stand by my view that leading with defeat isn’t the way to go in ANY enterprise.

I think we REALLY need to re-examine. When the ABSOLUTE FIRST REACTION BY NEARLY EVERY FReeper is gloom, doom and negativity, it seems to me we DO have a congenital problem going here. I share the pessimism, but it seems like we ought to leave room for just a LITTLE optimism. This constant negativity isn’t doing anyone any good ... Remember, there are FReepers and lurkers who are ACTUALLY involved in this and may be in that hearing tomorrow in an official capacity ... Let’s not destroy their spirit and let them down!

For example, Al Gore’s actions after the 2000 election seemed less like a politician upset at losing a close one, and more like a desperate man who had made promises to some powerful people that he would fulfill as President — which he had assured them was in the bag.

Whoever pulls the strings of Dem politicians seems to pull them real tight.
