I was a ‘Flight Line Maintenance Mechanic’ for 25 years. I went to an FAA approved school and received my A&P license.
But note an A&P ticket is just a ‘license to learn’. I had to pay my dues and work for a commuter with props, back to school to learn avionics before getting hired by a major airline.
Today, airlines are suffering from staffing shortages at all levels. A person can now get hired right out of A&P school right into a major airline.

Five years ago diagnosed with PC, Gleason score 9. Radical prostatectomy was not advised as cancer had metastasized to lymph nodes and surrounding tissue. After 2 rounds of radiation (one on prostate, another on a lymph node in my back), Xtandi and monthly Lupron Depot injections, my last PSA count went from undetectable to .2
I’m wondering if I should add Apalutamide to my treatment.
I did some of my A&P exam on a DC-3. I thought what a big plane. Later in life was line mechanic for a main line carrier. DC-3 a really small aircraft by those standards.
