The title says it all, when you get down to it. Our Constitution ensconces a fundamental principle that pre-exists any form of government: By virtue of being human you have rights. No government has the authority to take them from you, as to be able to choose how to allocate something you must first have rightful possession of it. ...

This group appears to be a high-level parent organization that rolls-up about 11 different leftist revolutionary organizations, all that are couched under cute (false) names but are likely funded by Soros. My boss sent me a link from their website about their "innovative approach" in some area, and asked me to look into it (more follows)

The latest screamfest from the various teacher's groups is that they're "grossly underpaid." Well, no. First, let's not forget that teachers are paid for 12 months but work 9. Indeed the "standard" school year is 180 days. The standard man-year of work is 2,000 hours -- 40 hours across 50 weeks. But 180 days is 1,440 hours, not 2,000, or 72% of a standard work-year. And before you talk about "overtime" do realize that professionals don't get paid overtime. I never did as a professional writing code or building networks for other people. It's a professional job, and is exempt...

Karl Deninger has proof of forgery in yearbook. ... Jesus, it's that obvious and CNN ran this crap? People need to go to ****ing prison for this. NOW. Yes, including Gloria Allred. The yearbook is an obvious forgery and she peddled it on national television; that needs to be good for disbarment and prosecution. The original tweet from CNN can still be looked at. We'll see how long it is before they try to take it down. I took the image on the right side of their tweet, brought it into Photoshop and increased the size. I will swear under...

Let me make a few observations. First, eight years ago, and again four years ago, America elected a President. Fully half, give or take a couple of percent, disagreed with the outcome. There were exactly zero riots, fires, "mass protests" and similar following that outcome despite the fact that half the population vehemently disagreed with it. This time around, not so much. Now I want you think very carefully about the following. Most of the land mass of this nation is owned and resided upon by people who are in "red" (that is, the winner this time) areas of the...

November 2015 will be remembered as the month in which the world woke up. The year began with the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris on January 7 and 8, an atrocity which drew millions to the streets of the French capital to stand in solidarity on behalf of civil liberty and freedom of speech. Militant Islamic terrorists returned to Paris on November 13, this time leaving 130 dead and hundreds more wounded, some paralyzed for life. The Islamic State took credit for the Paris attacks just as it had for blowing a Russian airliner out of the sky over Egypt...

Caught Reuters in bias trickery. Opening paragraph reads: "WASHINGTON (Reuters) –John Boehner, the top Republican in Congress, told White House talks on Sunday that budget cuts must exceed the amount by which the debt ceiling is raised and said any deal must include tax hikes." Then...in the story it reads properly... ... Boehner told Sunday's session that Republicans consider as "fundamental principles" that spending cuts should exceed the amount they will agree raise the debt ceiling, and that any deal will restrain future spending and include "no tax hikes." See how they do that?

Sorry for the vanity, but we are wondering if anyone knows about the Cumberland Presbyterian church. We have friends that are thinking of joining it, but I have read that they are affiliated with PC(USA), which has anti-Israeli views, pro-homosexuality views, etc. I searched online and could not find explicit proof, other than the Cumberland and PCUSA conventions were held in Birmingham in 2006, and that the PCUSA came away with some very anti-biblical statements. Was the Cumberland branch part of that, or are they ok? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The experiment, done at the company's Cambridge, England, labs, is a step toward developing a new generation of highly powerful processors. By Peter Clarke,  EE Times Sept. 1, 2005 URL: http://www.informationweek.com/story/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=170102712 LONDON — A team at Hitachi’s Cambridge Laboratory at the University of Cambridge in England has developed a silicon device for quantum computing: a quantum-dot charge “qubit”. This structure, based on Hitachi's many years of work on single-electron devices, is the first step in the development of a quantum computer based on conventional silicon technology, according to Hitachi Europe Ltd. Quantum computers make use of quantum bits (qubits), which...

U.S. Won't Cede Control Of Internet's Root ServersThe United States has changed course and is now ignoring calls by some countries to turn root-server oversight over to an international body. By Anick Jesdanun, The Associated Press June 30, 2005 URL: http://www.informationweek.com/story/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=164904465 NEW YORK (AP)--The U.S. government will indefinitely retain oversight of the main computers that control traffic on the Internet, ignoring calls by some countries to turn the function over to an international body, a senior official said Thursday. The announcement marked a departure from previously stated U.S. policy. Michael D. Gallagher, assistant secretary for communications and information at the...

Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003. Page 5 German Sources Say Russia Might Price Its Oil in EurosCombined Reports YEKATERINBURG, Ural Mountains -- Russia is increasingly looking at pricing oil sales in euros instead of dollars, reflecting the euro's growing role as a reserve currency, German government sources said Wednesday. "The question is taking on increasing significance," a person travelling with German Chancellor Gerhard SchrÚder on an official visit to Russia said. A switch into euros by Russia, the second-biggest oil exporter behind Saudi Arabia and holder of the world's largest natural gas reserves, would represent a major shift in the balance...

Baptism in the Tigris for U.S. Christian SoldiersSun August 24, 2003 07:28 AM ET By Andrew Cawthorne TIKRIT, Iraq (Reuters) - Nineteen-year-old Private Bill Goodwin puts down his gun, takes off his combat jacket and steps into the warm waters of Iraq's Tigris River. "I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ," proclaims his unit's Protestant chaplain, Xuan Tran, submerging the soldier completely for Sunday's baptism rite. Goodwin emerges smiling and posing for a photo to send to his family in Oklahoma before reflecting on what he has done. "I have been away for five and a half months...

Langa Letter: Linux Has Bugs: Get Over ItFred Langa contends that some Linux proponents harm their cause by hiding from the facts--it's just as buggy as Windows XP. By Fred Langa, InformationWeekJan 27, 2003 (12:00 AM)URL: http://www.informationweek.com/story/IWK20030124S0013I made a private bet with myself when I ran an item in my newsletter called "Linux Hacks On The Rise". It cited a study of software problems reported by CERT--the Computer Emergency Response Team that impartially tracks computing security threats. (CERT is part of a federally funded research and development center at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.) Among other things, the article said:...

November 26, 2002  | Paul ThurrottMost Unsecure OS? Yep, It's Linux According to a new Aberdeen Group report, open-source solution Linux has surpassed Windows as the most vulnerable OS, contrary to the high-profile press Microsoft's security woes receive. Furthermore, the Aberdeen Group reports that more than 50 percent of all security advisories that CERT issued in the first 10 months of 2002 were for Linux and other open-source software solutions. The report muddles the argument that proprietary software such as Windows is inherently less secure than open solutions. And here's another blow to the status quo: Proprietary UNIX solutions were responsible...

Shortly after President Bush took office, an old man approached the White House from the park across Pennsylvania Ave where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U. S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Clinton."
