Do you think the world community would tolerate large scale slaughter of Arabs even if the main target was legitimate?

A world community that has already tolerated the large scale slaughter of Jews and is getting tired of hearing about the Holocaust? A world that tolerates bombing after bombing and never says Israel is justified in doing anything in its own defense INCLUDING building that wall?

Recall what happened when a group of Arabs took a planeload of Israelis to Uganda. When Israel stands up for itself, the world backs off. Maybe if Israel told the world what it really is.....

How long before Israel would face sanctions or even foreign intervention?

It appears the only time Israel doesn't face sanctions or UN intervention is when they are giving up land, money, power, etc., to the Arabs.

Hitler, yemach sh'mo, didn't come to power and implement his Final Solution all at once. Evil grows gradually...but it grows faster when good people don't oppose it.

It appears you are certain in your convictions. Yet, even you think that it will only forstall the inevitable for a generation at best. I guess there's nothing else I can say except that I wish you well.

There is nothing more important in Judaism than saving lives.

Is there some historical proof that walling yourself off in a ghetto saves lives?

There are no holy sites in Gaza and precious little Jewish history at all.

And when there are holy sites such as Joseph's Tomb? Does it make a difference?

There is lots of the "promised land" we don't control. I suppose some would want us to invade Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon to claim it. I prefer to believe that promise will be fulfilled when moshiach comes, not before.

What if Moshiach isn't going to come? What if he is here and now? I have always felt that, far more than any Jew waits for the Moshiach, Moshiach waits for the Jews. We have waited thousands of years to no avail. Perhaps action, rather than waiting, is what is needed. Maybe when we rip the blinders from our eyes, we will be able to see the Moshiach. The blinders of assimilation, materialism, and yes, the liberal political correctness that prevents us from identifying Amalek and doing what we're supposed to.

You, who are on the front lines, get to make the choice. I won't call you any names for making the one you feel in your heart to be correct, even though I am sure it cannot possibly work in the long term.

So where does that leave us? Am I supposed to remain silent when Jews are slaughtered? Am I supposed to support a process when all that process results in is murdered Jews?

What is "do what is right"? What is your brilliant plan?

Exterminate all terrorists and their supporters. Last year, Israel had an opportunity to take out a bunch of terrorists but they used a smaller bomb than they should have because they were worried that "innocent" Arabs might be killed. The terrorists weren't killed. In another incident, the Israelis use ground troops, exposing them to greater danger (and some of them were killed), to avoid killing "innocent" Arabs. The Arab culture is one of hatred and death. They glorify it and teach it to their children. While there are some Arabs who are truly innocent, the overwhelming majority allow the culture to go on. If the Israelis continue to care more about innocent Arabs than innocent Jews, they will be destroyed.

"I'm a pardoned gentile, but I'm not one of the Chosen People. They're the apple of his eye."

What a crock. What is this person "guilty" of and who "pardoned" him. Moreover, it's a heck of a lot easier for a non-Jew to gain a heavenly reward than for a Jew. And where does he get off saying that Jews are the "apple of G-D's eye"? How does he know?

In recent weeks, leaders of three of the nation's largest Jewish groups — the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Committee and the Union for Reform Judaism

What makes these groups Jewish? Just because they are involved with "Jewish" causes? These are liberal groups peddling the liberal agenda with a "kosher" label.

The liberal wing of American Jewry in America had better wise up and recognize who their real friends are.

There is no "liberal wing" of American Jewry. "Liberal Jew" is a bigger oxymoron than "French honor". These people are liberals who happened to be born to people who were Jewish according to Jewish religious law. Any relationship to authentic Judaism is purely coincidental.

Iran has decided to rewrite and revise the history of the Holocaust.

Maybe Spielberg could do the movie considering the revisionism he did for Munich.

    And that is ?...

What the Torah tells them to do. Terrorists, and those who support them, must be exterminated. Being an American, as I am, I would hope that you remember 9/11 and that you agree.

The morons who think they can hide behind a fence will soon have their eyes opened for them. While the majority of Israeli's don't want to control the lives of these Arabs, they're living in a fools paradise if they think they can wall themselves off. The world will continue to make demands, the Arabs will be allowed in, and the terrorism will continue. The solution is either to allow Israel to be destroyed and the Jews exterminated, or for the Jews to finally stand up and do what it right.

Another interesting story. Just proves the old adage that there are no absolutes. However, if girls like the one in this story do nothing to promote justice, what is the result? Were the Arabs to win, this girl would inherit the same way the Czech's did when the Nazis got rid of the Jews. That doesn't make her worthy of anything, does it?

"What I am saying is that to say "all" Palestinians or even "most" Palestinians wish us dead and Israel destroyed is false. Far too many do, of course."

An interesting story. Those Arabs who truly wish peace should act accordingly. If there were enough of them to truly prove that "most" Arabs don't want us dead, then there would be no substance to my argument.

Many if not most Palestinians would love to just live in peace.

Do you have any evidence of this?

Several years ago, a couple of Israeli soldiers got lost and ended up in an Arab town. They were arrested and brought to the police station. A large crowd of Arabs went into the police station and stomped them to death. When one of the wives of the soldiers called her husband on his cell, one of the Arabs answered and said, "I just killed your husband".

This is just one example which contradicts your assertion. Can you provide any that support it?

That's fair, Alice. I hope you won't think wrong of me for claiming that I do know the answer. You may not agree with it, but I'm pretty sure about this one.

    Be well.

Sharon never said he would divide Jerusalem.

He did say that he wouldn't give up Gaza to the Arabs.

Anyone who looked objectively at the situation in Gaza understood that the settler's position there was untenable and that situation could not continue.

Agreed. And the solution is to throw the Jews out? The same argument could be made for all of Israel. Indeed, many already have made that argument - that Israel should never have been created. There is a right and a wrong here. The right path is the difficult one. Caving in to the demands of murderers is wrong in my opinion.

the people who do get a say, Israeli voters overwhelmingly supported him. His new party was headed for an election landslide in the next election. That means something.

Yes, it does. The Hellinists overwhelmingly supported the anti-Jewish government of ancient Israel....the Macabees won anyway and today we celebrate their victory as Chanukah. Being in the majority doesn't always mean you're choosing the correct moral path, does it?

Not an easy task. The Madrasas (sp?) have been preaching hate for years and the tribalistic society has been entrenched for centuries. We must remember they're still living in the 1st or 2nd century. Capitalism may work, but the religion of Islam doesn't seem to be conducive to it. Sadly,I don't know what the realistic answer is.

You're absolutely right, except I am suspicious of your last sentence. Could it be that you know what the answer is, but don't want to say it? The Arabs want to slaughter the Jews...and after the Jews, the Christians and Hindus....and then everyone else... in the meantime, they murder each other. The culture needs to be severly changed or destroyed if the rest of us are going to survive. Ethnically cleansing Jews, as Sharon did, and as he advised Begin to do, empowers the murderers. Would you agree?

I wish Sharon could have done better. While I cannot wish him ill or be pleased with his current situation, I can't forgive him for causing so much pain and suffering to so many innocent Jews. I'm conflicted about that and wish I could feel differently. But I can't.

That would be one possibility. But how about this - denazification. Much more difficult, but really a humanitarian alternative. The Arab culture of death needs to be eliminated and replaced with a culture of life (if that's possible) if there's going to be any chance of true peace.

I was expecting islamofascists to say that this was God's punishment for Sharon's "wrongdoings" against the Arab world, but I wasn't expecting it from Pat Robertson.

Pat isn't saying that. He's saying it was because Sharon rewarded Arab murderers by expelling innocent Jews from their homes and giving it to the Arabs. I'm not saying that I agree with Pat - I think anyone who claims that such and such was G-D's punishment with such absolute conviction should take another look.

He'll go down in Jewish history as one of the greats.

Depends on which Jewish history you read. To the faithful and to the real Zionist, Sharon decisions as PM to ethnically cleanse Gaza may negate a lifetime of service.

Illness and death are not something I would wish for Sharon or for almost anyone (Osama bin Ladin is one exception). Yet, I do not share the feelings of most of the people on this thread. Innocent Jews are still suffering from Sharon's ethnic cleansing of Gaza and I can't forget that. I wish I could share your feelings. Instead, I am relieved that Sharon will not be able to throw more Jews out of their homes or divide Jerusalem. I wish those feelings made me feel good, but they don't.
