Thanks for the ping! I've been away for quite a while and you are the first Freeper I replied to since the last 5 months. I've joined and become the Secretariat of an anti-government group here and continue to fight the ChiCom. Only this time, I am backed by a strong group.

Monitoring all ChiCom sources is part of my job. Please continue with your good work. You are helping me to understand Western response to ChiCom related issues. Thanks!

Dear Lord. Please have mercy on Texas Cowboy and his beloved daughter Faith who are a family of we Freepers here. Please bestow on them Your almighty power and limitless love as You have with Logan. With Your loving hands, please guide the doctors to perform the miracle that You once did with Logan. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Thanks for the ping. Well said, soccer8, and welcome back.

The ChiCom is really reaping what it sows. N Korea’s nuclear extortion, combined with China’ s recent space mission have sounded an alarm throughout Asia. It has waken everybody up. Japan, S Korea, India and don’t forget -- Taiwan, will all consider seriously to go nuclear or at least, missile defense. This will make China’s possible military takeover of Taiwan much more costly.

Yes, I do have some data connecting ChiCom with Islamic radicals. I have seen them in some Chinese sites. I will translate and compile them and get back to you by freepmail.

China has a notorious history of arming and financing anti-government guerrillas in Asian countries in the 50s to 70s by exporting their Maoist ideology. The objective was to destabilize the Asian governments to counter American influence in the area. Now, with no market for communist ideology, Islamic radical groups become convenient substitutes. The ChiCom is using them as a leverage and have a say in their domestic politics. With these extortionists in place, China can turn up the heat any time they want. I wouldn’t hold my breath for religious freedom, free enterprise, and intellectual liberty in China. The regime’s mentality haven’t change much for the last 30 years.

Thanks pal! I am a Chinese but really can't find any reason in this space mission for me to be proud of. It is nothing but a political propaganda tool. I don't blame the mainlanders living inside China, however, I am really surprised how many Westerners bought it.

Fueled by government sponsored nationalism and media hype, the hoopla of China’s first manned space mission has been blown way out of proportion, from streets to schools. Despite the national attention that the event has received, the government didn’t find the self confidence to broadcast the event live on TV due to the ChiCom’s obsession with face and fear of possible failure. Even with space technology, China is still not a nation who can face and accept the truth.

Spending 2.4 billion US dollar on a “me-too, white-elephant, 14-round cake-walk” space project when half of China’s 800 million rural population is still living below the poverty line and cannot afford to pay for food, education and medical care is a crime. Only 2% of China’s GDP is allocated for education, ranking her behind Uganda. With USD2.4 billion, the ChiCom can at least provide these people with basic utilities such as electricity and clean water. The ChiCom is building their political prestige at the expense of her people’s suffering.

How much prestige can this space mission bring is still a big question mark, not to mention its justification. The astronaut Lt. Col. Yang Li-wei is 38 years old. When Soviet Union’s Yuri Gagarin made the world’s first manned space mission 42 years ago in 1961, this ChiCom national hero Yang Li-wei is still a sperm lurking in his father’s scrotum.

How much prestige can China buy with USD2.4 billion?

    1) China has proven that they finally can, with today’s computer technology, duplicate what the USSR did 42 years ago with slide rule and vacuum tube technology.

    2) The project has proven that China’s space technology is “ONLY” 42 years (or at least 2 generations) behind world standard.

    3) China’s astronauts are all trained in Russia. And, most of China’s space technologies are either bought or stolen from Western countries.

If China has this kind of money, the national strength and the so-called advanced technology, the western world should revoke China’s “developing nation” treatment in the WTO agreement that she negotiated so hard for.

The ChiCom’s prime concern is their survival and the continuation of their regime. The space mission is the kind of project that benefits the Party instead of the country and the people.

Thanks for the good news. Praise the Lord. Thank you Lord for letting us Freepers become the witnesses of this miracle of little Logan. This is a solid proof of you almighty power and limitless love. And, Nana, please convey our thanks to the doctors and nurses at the NICU who helped perform this miracle. Thank God for their ingenuity, courage, professionalism and confidence to perform the operation on such a tiny and high-risk baby.

Thank you, Nana, for bringing this update of Logan’s wonderful home coming. You are essentially bringing all the Freepers home with you. We will continue to stay with him and pray for his coming days.

I still remember the day when I first came to this thread in early August. I still remember the struggles and hurdles, the emotional roller-coaster ridse that we all went through with Logan and his family. Time really flies.

Before we notice, Logan will be riding his first tricycle. Very soon, he will be on a two-wheeler. And, soon enough, Bud will take the training wheels off. Yes, he will fall and cry, but he will always get up and try again, like the true trooper Logan we all know so well. I hope Logan will enjoy reading these threads when he grows old enough to learn to read and type. I am looking forward to reading Logan’s first post in Free Republic. I think many of us Freepers are still around.

Thanks and God bless each and every one of you here.

Although the topic is on a lighter side, but seriously, I am a bit worried by Indonesia, which is the largest Islamic country in Asia. Combined with Malaysia and the Islamic rebels in the Philippines, they are a formidable force not to ignore. Together, they an reshape the political scene in Asia.

I can read and write Chinese and have lurked in mainland China's forums for quite a while. There are as many "nuke America" anti-West patriots in those forums as there are "nuke China" Freepers here. Every October 1st when it's PRC's national day, when their nationalism spirit peaks, I post articles reminding their sorry state, their lies, their shame, etc. And I enjoy watching them jumping up and down in berserk.

I have fun kicking ChiCom asses.

From what I read on Chinese media, the mission is only a manned space flight orbiting the earth, someting that USSR's Yuri Gagarin did 42 years ago, not moon landing or space station. It looks more like a "me-too" project to me.
