While a handful of oil company executives are financially supporting Trump’s reelection effort — given his consistent support for the industry — ExxonMobil executives are not. ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods gave $35,500 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee and $10,000 to the National Republican Congressional Committee, but nothing to Trump. The same goes for other top ExxonMobil executives.

Employees of ExxonMobil have actually given more to Biden than Trump, with nearly $112,000 going to the Democrat compared to Trump’s $69,000. The ExxonMobil PAC, meanwhile, makes 90 percent of its donations to Republican congressional candidates. Like many other major companies seeking influence with the newly elected president, ExxonMobil donated to Trump’s inauguration, giving $500,000.

Oil and gas interests have given $13 million to Trump’s campaign and outside groups backing his reelection bid. Much of that comes from a $10 million donation to pro-Trump super PAC America First Action from Energy Transfer Partners CEO Kelcy Warren. That’s compared to less than $1 million going to Biden’s election effort from the industry.

Those donations to Trump make up a relatively small slice of the oil and gas industry’s $97 million in donations to federal committees during the 2020 election cycle. Roughly 84 percent of the industry’s contributions to candidates go to Republicans. Major companies like Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Valero Energy make direct corporate contributions to GOP groups that focus on congressional races, but not pro-Trump groups. ExxonMobil doesn’t spend as much at the federal level, though it did give $650,000 to the Republican Governors Association last year.

Once the belt is around your neck, very tough without training. Best defense is pre-emptive: know surroundings and exit routes, periodically glance your blind spots as you walk, avoid walking past places attacker can hide, basically keep them from sneaking up behind you. If you felt the belt before it was taut and you realize what’s happening fast enough (a big if), you could try to prevent it from tightening by grabbing the attacker’s wrists and/or the belt, taking a step back with one foot to avoid losing balance, pivoting so you’re facing them instead of being dragged backwards and then use any weapons or techniques you have, if you know how potentially you can force them to cross their wrists and unbalance them but again this last item would be hard without training. Recovery gets significantly more difficult once the belt is tight and they’re pulling you off-balance or you’re on the ground, but in principle you want to regain balance and leverage (whether from a standing or sitting position) so you can counter-attack and run. As she’s being dragged, if she sits and becomes dead weight to slow the dragging while grabbing the belt to relieve pressure on her neck, she has an opportunity to grab one of his wrists and the opposite ankle and unbalance him laterally, grab both ankles and knock him backwards, maim his Achilles tendon or calf or thigh muscles or dig her nails into his wrist to distract his attention from his grip. . .Some ideas just from looking at the video, but this is just brainstorming in answer to your question; would be best to practice with a partner at controlled speed to see what you can come up with that your muscles are going to remember in a real situation.

Pro-Hamas Letter
In the wake of a terror attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, Harvard University students signed an open letter blaming Israel. After the students received negative media coverage, the ANSWER Coalition jumped to their defense in an open letter titled: “Open letter against intimidation at Harvard: Defend the freedom to speak in support of Palestine!” Manolo de los Santos signed the letter. The ANSWER Coalition organized an anti-Israel protest dated November 4, 2023[2] with the following organizations featured on the flyer: Palestinian Youth Movement, U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), The People’s Forum, Al-Awda, the Palestine Right to Return Coalition, American Muslim Alliance, US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, and National Students for Justice in Palestine.

Ackermann appointed the South African Eifel priest Stefan Hippler in the archdiocese of Cape Town; Hippler where he would be involved in the development and expansion of aid projects for AIDS-infected people – on behalf of the local archbishop. In the German Bishops’ Conference, he became chairman of the Liturgy Commission the Universal Church Commission. [8]

Child Abuse Controversy

While being the German Bishops Conference’s spokesman on child abuse issues he encouraged victims of child abuse to come forward, but later neglected actively to pursue investigations or impose harsh penalties.[9][10] Ackermann had to issue a public apology after failing to immediately suspend a suspected pedophile priest in 2011 yet ignored press revelations about seven other cases of priests in the bishop’s diocese who are suspected of having abused minors.[11] In January 2011, the police informed his office that a pastor from Saarbrücken, the state capital, had allegedly abused minors. According to the guidelines of the German Bishops’ Conference, prompt action had to be taken in such suspected cases, and the priest in question could be suspended until the accusations have been cleared up; nevertheless, despite these guidelines, and despite his status as the Church’s spokesman on abuse issues, Ackermann allowed one suspected pedophile to remain in office. The priest continued to celebrate Mass and even held a dedication ceremony for a Catholic kindergarten in the summer. In the fall, another ceremony was held to mark his 70th birthday.[12]

Reform of Sexual Morality

In 2014, Ackermann said that the Roman Catholic Church should reform Roman Catholic sexual ethics. Same-sex marriages should be accepted and not be described as immoral[13]. . .

Ayers, Mike Klonsky, and other SDS/Weather Underground veterans have been training pro-Iran activists since at least the tail end of the Trump administration, when Ayers posted on the subject on his blog.

“Transgender persons do not erase or deny sexual or gender differences. It is precisely because a transgender person knows that there are gender differences that the person realizes that their body does not match their soul.”

This sophistry pretends to affirm sexual/gender distinctions but actually claims that you can swap your physical body to match a plastic, self-discerned psychological disposition, which amounts to a denial that psychological sexual/gender distinctions have a real relationship to physical sexual/gender distinctions. This further denies the real relationship between body and soul which is affirmed in the doctrines of the Trinity and Incarnation.

Ideological Deception
The Gamaliel foundation has been accused of “specializ[ing] in ideological stealth.”49 Gamaliel Foundation “deliberately downplay[s] the far-Left ideology that stands behind their carefully targeted campaigns.” 50 As one observer put it, Gamaliel Foundation “fuse[s] their Left-extremist political beliefs with a smooth, non-ideological surface of down-to-earth pragmatism.” 51

Author Heidi Swarts explains, in order to downplay negative sentiments that “blue-collar members might harbor toward its elite, liberal leaders… Gamaliel’s main “ideological tactic,” is to present its organizers as the opposite of radical, elite, or ideological.”52 As evidence of this Swarts says, “they (Gamaliel’s organizers) deliberately refrain from using leftist jargon like ‘racism,’ ‘sexism,’ ‘classism,’ ‘homophobia,’ ‘oppression,’ or ‘multiple oppressions’ in front of ordinary members — even though, amongst themselves, Gamaliel’s organizers toss around this sort of lingo with abandon.”53

Other critics have echoed these accusations of intentional deception, saying, “Gamaliel organizers make a point of presenting their ideas as practical, pragmatic, and down-to-earth. When no one else is listening, Gamaliel organizers may rail at ‘racism,’ ‘sexism,’ and ‘oppressive corporate systems,’ but when speaking to their blue-collar followers, they describe their plans as ‘common sense solutions for working families.’”54. . .

Criticism from the Catholic Church
AT ODDS WITH CHURCH DOCTRINE
High-ranking church leaders and religious organization have spoken out against Gamaliel Foundation.

In March 2010, David Ricken, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Green Bay, wrote a letter stating, “it is clear to me that principles of the Gamaliel Foundation are inconsistent with the tenets of our Catholic Social Teaching. It is not fitting for a Catholic entity to enter into a formal association with another organization when there is such a conflict of principles.”55 Ricken’s letter was prompted by Gamaliel Foundation efforts to prop up a healthcare coalition that “supported abortion rights in the health care bill before Congress.”56

ADVOCACY OF IMMORAL MEANS
According to an account by a former Gamaliel Foundation staffer, who claimed to have been mentored by Gamaliel leader Greg Galluzo, “He [Galluzo] felt that organizers should fight fire with fire” and would “give a cultish advanced training seminar titled ‘Walking the Edge of Immorality’ where he repeatedly stated ‘the ends justifies the means’ and nonchalantly told us that to have an impact on society we had to be willing to ‘lie, cheat, and steal for the greater good.’”57

This former staffer elaborated, “I have never seen such a strange and warped culture anywhere”, where “staff were pitted against each other.” 58 Ultimately, the former staffer said, “I left Gamaliel disillusioned and disgusted by what seemed to me to be pure evil. How could a faith-based organization operate under such a skewed, cynical view of the world?”59

Associations with President Barack Obama
The Developing Communities Project, a Gamaliel Foundation-affiliated organization, hired future President Barack Obama as lead organizer in 1985, where he was trained “to raise money for his community organization and how to design community strategies”60 by Gamaliel Foundation leadership.61 “Obama learned many of his community organizing skills from the Gamaliel Foundation.”62 Most notably, “He learned how to disguise his intense political convictions by portraying them as practical problem-solving motivated by religious faith.”63

When Obama “entered electoral politics, he was also able to play ‘good cop’ to Gamaliel Foundation’s ‘bad cop,’” applying “external pressure to ‘organize’ his legislative colleagues to come around to his point of view.” 64 Critics noted that although “it is almost unheard of for a U.S. Senator to attend a public meeting of a community organization, but [then-] Senator Obama attended a Gamaliel Foundation affiliate public meeting in Chicago.”65

In 2009, a surreptitiously recorded video was released of a Gamaliel Foundation meeting from 2008 with attendees appearing to pray to an idolized President-elect Obama. The Gamaliel Foundation group could be heard appearing to appeal to Obama with cries of “hear our cry Obama” and “deliver us Obama.” It is unclear exactly what the participants were saying.66

The “By Any Means Necessary” slogan on the sign in the picture was borrowed from Malcolm X via the California Antifa group of the same name, abbreviation BAMN, illustrating the coordination between Antifa and Muslim terrorists (the “Red-Green Axis”, discussed in a book of that title by James Simpson, published in 2015 and revised in 2019).

Maryam Alwan has expressed support for terrorism, promoted incitement, called for Israel’s destruction and spread hatred of Israel as an activist with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

As of January 2024, Alwan was an organizer with the SJP chapter at Columbia University (Columbia SJP). In November 2023, she called [00:00:18] herself “a proud member of SJP.”

On October 9, 2023, Columbia SJP expressed support for the Hamas terror attacks of October 7, 2023. The war crimes and atrocities against Israeli civilians included mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings. The attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

Alwan is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Alwan is affiliated with the anti-Israel activist groups Within Our Lifetime (WOL) and American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), as well as Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP).

As of March 2024, Alwan was listed in the Columbia online directory as a student in the School of General Studies, affiliated with the Institute of Comparative Literature and Society. Columbia is located in New York, New York.

As of January 2024, Alwan was listed as a “fourth-year [student]...in the dual degree program between Sciences Po [Paris Institute of Political Studies] and Columbia, majoring in politics and government with a focus on the Middle East…and comparative literature and society.”

GWU previously pressed charges against Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and suspended its leader Lance Lokas, but dropped charges a few days ago after intervention by Palestine Legal, a Chicago-based advocacy group led by Dima Khalidi that has worked with CCR, the group that represented the Guantanamo Bay detainees and various other terrorists. Organizers of the current riot named in media coverage include Zari Scott, Lydia X. Z. Brown, Zan Haq, “Reem” (last name omitted from media coverage), Fida Adely, Archit Mehta, Etai Abraham, Zeytoun, Selina al-Shihabi, Rahma Abdallah, Miriem Siegel. Besides SJP, they are tied to organizers from Georgetown Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine (GUFSJP) and a similar medical-oriented group GUMEDS4PAL. Other area groups are participating from George Mason, American, UMD, UMBC, Howard, and Gallaudet.
