  • What should one do when there is no lawful society?

Well, here it is, 10 months since my original post, and we are even more lawless. The latest is the “state of emergency” arbitrarily activated by totalitarian governors, neatly bypassing the Constitution as well as state and local laws. Yet we the people in large part still quiver and don our bacteria-laden and CO2-catching masks and take our kill-shots.
The sad fact for those patriots who gather in huge numbers to peacefully protest: the elites DON’T CARE! Peacefully march all you want; the elites will just wait until you are tired and go home, following which tyranny will resume. As proof of this, just observe the weeks of global protests by the tens of thousands, where the elites continue to rule and even pass onerous undemocratic edicts. They thumb their royal noses at we the people.
What to do? As a next step. these royals need to start to become unsettled and fearful. They do not fear the people throwing rocks and bottles at the police, or overturning police cars. But they would fear being dragged out of their ivory towers and being placed on trial.
So perhaps the crowds should, as the next step, mass in front of their gilded offices and chant, “COME OUT! YOU ARE UNDER ARREST” “COME OUT! YOU ARE UNDER ARREST!”
This can be amplified as necessary until the elites understand that they work for we the people.

What should one do when there is no lawful society?

Under more normal times, with a close election, we citizens will patiently await the next election. Today, following a landslide election for Donald J. Trump that was thwarted by massive fraud, millions of citizens now realize that all of a sudden they are living in a totalitarian and unlawful society.

    What to do?

    Here is my wish:

For all of you in positions of power who did nothing to stop this assault on our freedom, and who aided or acquiesced in a communist takeover of our republic, I wish that you live the rest of your lives in embarrassment and fear. This includes China conspirators Biden/Harris, turncoats and liars McConnell and Graham, and media elites Dorsey and Zuckerberg, among a very long list of traitors.

When in public for any reason (walking, giving a speech, dining, attending a concert, shopping) I wish that patriots treat you rudely. That they loudly call out Traitor!, get up and leave when you arrive, turn their backs on you, "accidentally" bump you or knock items off of your table, and engage in other acts of contempt including civil disobedience.

I wish that your days be filled with high tension, wondering whether your server has poisoned your food, wondering whether a patriot lies in wait for you on a dark night's walk to your car or limo, wondering if someone may jump out from the crowd at you as you walk to your office, and wondering whether your bodyguards and DC police will actually protect you from the multitude of average outraged Americans.

I wish that you will never have a moment's feeling of security, and that you feel the constant contempt from millions of your fellow citizens.

No, I do now wish you dead or physically harmed.

I wish you something infinitely worse, something that you cowards and liars and traitors richly deserve.

    Fear. Constant fear.

  • Electromagnetic Pulse Question: Can an EMP be used to kill diesel submarines

Unpowered electronics are more likely to survive, but a strong EMP can also take them out. The EMP generates a field that is coupled into the wires (or pcb traces) and appears as a transient voltage. This by itself can damage the electronics. It typically does a lot more damage with power applied because the powered device can amplify the effects.
As I mentioned earlier, if you have an old car it is more likely to survive; whether it is turned on or not.

I’m an engineer with extensive background in EMP. Generally speaking, a high-alltitude EMP blast could indeed do great damage to the eletcrical grid, likely causing loss of electricity over much of the country. (I have not reviewed lately the state of counter-measures, but suspect that we’re still quite vulnerable.)
Also, all unshielded electronics, paricularly at those points that are connected to long cables (power cords, antennas) will likely burn out.
For you survivalists, shielded electronics do not have to be grounded; probably better if they aren’t.
Underwater and underground locations are much more immune to EMP effects.
Older cars are much more immune as well; EMP more adversely affects small-geometry (miniaturized) semiconductors, which is more true for modern electronics. Older cars are much more likely to survive since they have less-miniaturized or no IC-based electronics.
The good news, which probably will deter any rational government from launching an EMP attack, is that our military installations and equipment are hardened against EMP. Retribution would be swift and massive. So we can probably sleep well and not worry (too much) about this.

I listened and I heard nothing about government takeover of healthcare, with the exception of reimbursement to hospitals who care for the poor. Which is how we used to handle healthcare for the poor (public hospitals supported by the taxpayer).

  • TECH HELP PLEASE: Why is my windows 7 Dell laptop suddenly shutting down for no reason

Maceman, you have my sympathies. Unfortunately, many things can cause your symptoms. I am an EE with a few decades experience, and imo you do not need Win 10. You can follow the restore instructions, but one thing you might watch out for is if you have a lot of peripherals attached; i.e. disconnect all external equipment during restore/reboot.
Even though you have a refurbished PC it may still be the problem, since many PCs are built with limited-lifetime components (particularly capacitors) that, as they age, cause intermittent internal power problems that cause shutdowns.
If the above do not help, I would contact Dell again.
    Good luck.

  • Global Warming "Science"; What Investors Need To Know, Don't Just Trust The "Experts"

    Some excerpts:

"Never in my life have I seen scientists going out to prove the null hypothesis is true...except in the field of climate "science." In real science studies are done to reject the null hypothesis, not confirm it. It is called the "scientific method," something people that blindly accept the man made climate change theory apparently know nothing about..."

"Facts are climate warmists don't have the science on their side, not even close. The tactics used by the "warmists" are more appropriate for playground bullies and Medieval inquisitors than real scientists. Ridicule isn't a debating tactic used by those who can defend their position on the facts, ridicule is a smoke screen to distract from the fact that they can't debate their topic on a scientist basis. I've studied the "science" behind climate change for years, and what I've learned over those years is that people that believe in man made climate change have never bothered to look into the "science" that supports it..."

Lots more for the scientifically literate. Enjoy.

Okay, now I agree with the general thrust of your concerns. Yes, the metrics would have to be carefully defined, to ensure no cheating.
However it’s important not to get bogged down in quantitative figures; this would increase the opportunity for cheating, plus would become confusing and boring to the electorate. A simple trend point should suffice; i.e. at the end of three months there has either been an improvement in unemployment and total debt or not. (Other economic markers could be used; this is where there would probably be strong debate during the development of the initial legislation. Such a debate imo would be a very good side effect).
Even if delays or other extraneous factors push the results in the wrong direction, this would result in the faulty measures being extended only for another three months. Eventually, (in much less than four years), the truth will become obvious. During that time the American people will be watching and learning.

Respectfully, you are way off base in assuming that you know me. I am older and experienced, not some student. I have been running my own engineering business successfully for decades. I also have a broad and deep understanding of economics and politics.
I have proposed a radical idea (competition over a short time frame, when government is divided like it is now) that does not fit within the generally accepted framework of politics. I think that may be why it is hard for some to grasp.
You are correct in that there may be an attempt to cheat. That is why the originating legislation must be carefully constructed (engineers could help!) to ensure proper metrics.
With regard to eliminating competition, again it seems you did not read the entire post. If the Administration performs poorly, they lose their turn at bat, and the House gets to try its ideas.
    May the best side win!

The thesis ensures that if performance is deliberately bad (e.g. due to evil intent) then the Administration’s policies are cancelled and the House’s policies are implemented.

The proposal is not about a typical government “deal,” the proposal is about implementing competition, without either side compromising. If the Admin’s policies don’t show a positive trend within 3 months, then the House gets to implement their policies. Fiscal Super Bowl!

    Good points:
Statutory instability: This will be minimized, or even made moot, by the fact that performance must be quickly achieved. Although government may be a sloth, businesses are nimble and will adapt real time to implemented measures.
Sabotage: That’s why performance metrics must be “clear and unambiguous.”

If the Administration’s policies do not achieve a positive trend line, quickly, then the House gets to implement their alternative policies. There is no incentive, under the proposal, to allow things to get worse.

I’m not sure you fully read my post, or perhaps I did not make myself clear. The proposal is not a compromise, it is an offer to let the Admin have whatever they want, but only for 3 months. If their policies don’t achieve a positive trend line, the the House gets to implement their own policies. Competition, baby.
