A Little River woman was shot 13 times by the father of one of her children — a man who was arrested seven years ago for beating her while she was pregnant and who had recently texted her that he was going to shoot and kill her, family members said. Shaqueenia Hanna, 35, was in critical condition Tuesday at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her ex-boyfriend Terrell Robinson, 31, and who police and family believed committed the crime, is still on the run.

Yeah, the results were overwhelming. And what's interesting is that the easy win for Hillary Clinton doesn't seem to be much about her at all. Put another way, she didn't win here because these coaches love her or are inspired by her. She won here because, well, because the main person running against her seems unfit and unqualified to be President of the United States. That's the opinion of college basketball coaches, at least.

OKLAHOMA CITY - A metro mother is accused of murdering her own daughter, because she thought she was possessed by the devil. The woman is accused of killing her daughter with a crucifix. Juanita Gomez is facing a first degree murder charge. Court documents show Juanita admitted to police she forced a crucifix down her daughter’s throat and watched her daughter die.

(CNN) — One Ithaca College student was killed and another was injured after being stabbed during a "large fight" on the nearby Cornell University campus early Sunday in Ithaca, New York, officials from both schools said. Cornell University Police were called to the intersection in front of Olin Hall, which houses Cornell's school of chemical and biomolecular engineering, just before 2 a.m. There, they found two men had been stabbed, according to a police news release.

A Pennsylvania woman was so hopped up with rage when her husband guzzled the last of her beers that she slashed her spouse with a pair of scissors and bit his hands and arms, police say. Tracey Lee Giffin, 45, of North Union Township was jailed and charged with aggravated assault of her 59-year-old husband, three years after she was charged with a similar crime.

A mother who was shot and killed while pushing a baby in a stroller on Chicago's South Side Friday has been identified as a cousin of Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade. Chicago Police said Nykea Aldridge, 32, was shot in the head and arm by two men outside an elementary school at around 3:30 p.m. local time Friday. Investigators believe the shooters were targeting a third man.

A Philadelphia man and woman have been charged in a home invasion in Chester that left a 75-year-old man bound at the hands and feet by cords, and his 49-year-old daughter severely beaten and in critical condition. Erinn Howarth, 25, of Germantown - who is possibly the man's housekeeper - and Richard Johnson, 23, of Juniata Park, were arraigned Thursday morning on charges that include robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and conspiracy. Both were held in the Delaware County prison on $1 million bail each.

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) — Under heavy security, an accused killer who escaped a Broward courthouse, prompting a massive manhunt, faced a judge. Dayonte Resiles, 21, appeared in front of a judge Tuesday morning. He’s also charged with escape after bolting from the Broward County Courthouse courtroom last month. After being on the run for six days, Resiles was tracked to a Days Inn off I-95 in West Palm Beach where he was taken into custody.

On Saturday, Mayor Ras Baraka had asked the citizens of Newark to observe 24 hours of nonviolence, but violence flared nevertheless. Six people were shot and killed in Newark in a little over 72 hours — a time spanning Friday night to early Tuesday morning. A New Jersey woman and an accomplice tried to kill her friend last year and succeeded months later, prosecutors said Wednesday. Police found the body of missing 41-year-old woman Tyrita Julius wrapped in a tarp and buried in the backyard of the Long Branch home of one of her killers Tuesday, according to Monmouth County officials. A man who lives there, Andre Harris, and Julius’ friend, Jennifer Sweeney, were charged with murdering her.

The University of Mississippi’s marching band will no longer play any variation of the song “Dixie” – a tradition some seven decades old at football games and other sporting events. The University's Athletic Department confirmed to Mississippi Today on Friday that the song, which was the unofficial anthem of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War, will no longer be played at athletic events.

Court dates have been scheduled for two Frederick women accused of stabbing and killing a man outside a downtown bar. Alexis Adria Lucas, 23, and her sister Tierra Nicole Lucas, 29, were charged with first- and second-degree murder and first-degree assault in Frederick County Circuit Court, records show. Nevada advocates against domestic violence on Wednesday reaffirmed their support for Question 1, a ballot initiative proposing to expand firearm background checks to private-party sales and transfers.
