No, I don’t think Trump is going back to the White House before 2024, but it alarms me that so many people scream “NO LEGAL WAY FOR THAT TO HAPPEN,” when there’s ALWAYS a way for things to happen. Just ask the democrats. The LEFT finds ways (both legal and illegal) for anything to happen that they want to happen and then the RIGHT does nothing because they assume there’s no legal way to counter the illegality. We are in unchartered territory that is not perfectly addressed by the existing legal process for elections. Georgia is doing an audit and some Senate officials there have already said they WILL switch out their congressional candidates if the audit warrants it. In my opinion, it remains to be seen what happens if the audits disclose massive fraud in the presidential election.

  • Judge Amy Coney Barrett Recently Approved Democrat COVID-19 Lockdown Policies

This article isn’t entirely accurate, as I understand the situation. Amy Barrett was not on the panel that heard the original Pritzker case that upheld Pritzker’s orders so she never rendered an opinion in the case. However, the litigants in that case asked the 7th Circuit (Amy’s court) to do an en banc review.. Every judge on that court refused to do the review. According to attorney friends of mine, the refusal of the judges to hear the case is troubling, but doesn’t necessarily mean every judge opposed it. It could be that they wanted to fast track the case to the SC. Or the minority knew they didn’t have the votes to take up the case. Or they knew the case was moot at that point, which they believe it was. This case may be reason for concern, or maybe not.

  • The Risks of Homeschooling

    04/20/2020 8:22:33 AM PDT · 59 of 82
    bpete123 to JOHN ADAMS

U.S. courts have been very clear that parents are in control of their children’s education. They have allowed homeschooling to exist without a lot of state- imposed “standards” and “accountability” measures because that would put the state back in control of homeschooling, rather than parents. Thankfully, homeschoolers have an incredible legal defense association that has rarely lost a case. They have also commissioned very reputable testing and research to show that homeschoolers are way ahead of their public and private school counterparts in every measurable category, from performance on standardized tests and numbers getting into college to social skills and the teenage suicide rate. Homeschooling is one of the few areas of our society where citizens have true freedom and the results speak for themselves. Another advantage of the modern homeschooling movement? It’s pouring out very smart, independent thinking, hard working conservative members of our communities who take civic involvement and voting very seriously.

  • Freeper advice: Brainstorm safe ways to return office workers

There are a million ways to keep offices safe but here’s what we do not want to do. 1. Do not divide people between sick (underlying health conditions) and healthy (no underlying health conditions). 2. Do not divide people between young and old. 3. Do not divide people between those with antibodies and those without.

These divisions would build discontent and contempt and will lead to all kinds of negative outcomes for people who have not been “approved” to work. There’s also no good way for the “unapproved” to move to the “approved” list. Instead, follow social distancing guidelines in the office and allow people who believe they are high risk to take temporary disability, although it should be their choice. For the first month back, I believe it would be acceptable to take temperatures to insure that no one is currently sick. Beyond that, let freedom ring.

  • Coronavirus: Why the Swedish experiment could prove Britain wrong: Sweden's decision to remain open for business is in direct contrast to Britain's strategy of locking down the country

These kinds of statements are ridiculous and don’t reflect the data.I’m a grandmother, but, in my state, I’m three times more likely to die from a car accident than coronavirus. I have no plans to give up cars and I’m fine with the herd immunity approach to the virus. This is called “risk assessment” and we do it everyday. If the data changes and the risk for a serious case of the virus increases, the answer is simple: I’ll simply stay home. Voila — problem solved! Until that time, I’ll take my chances. By the way, I live in Kentucky, which currently ranks 34th in number of covid cases. What does this mean based on the number of cases and deaths divided by the population of my state? I have a .015 percent of getting coronavirus and a .00045 percent chance of dying from the virus (probably lower since I don’t have any underlying health conditions). Please stop scaring people by saying we are going to kill grandma if everyone doesn’t stay home!

Not only has the state closed down my business, but, as a landlord, they have also told me I MUST be responsible for paying rent for other people. Because of moratoriums on evictions, landlords can’t require renters to pay, yet none of our (landlords) financial obligations have been dismissed by our creditors. Even Trump yesterday mentioned he might do something for renters about delaying evictions. This is insane. People who rent have far more options in this current climate than people tied to mortgages. It’s easy for them to be mobile and downsize, but homeowners will not be let out of their mortgages.

Actually, agitation and combativeness is even more associated with Alzheimers than dementia. My elderly mother had to rehab from a brain injury in a memory care unit and Biden’s streaks of agitation remind me of the patients who had Alzheimers. If you look at the warning sings of Alzheimers, Biden has a number of them.

For those people on here beating their chests and acting like manliness is a pre-requisite for a jurist, maybe you should actually read up on who this man is and what his views are before you so easily toss him aside as too much of a wimp for the bench. His rulings have been anything but soft. He is a staunch conservative, which is why the ABA is fighting him so hard. Keep your priorities straight and don’t get sidetracked.

Such a self-righteous response. So your criterion for a good judge is whether he cries in public or not? That criterion is as bankrupt as those delivered from the Left. Good judges are those who make good rulings based on the Law. I, personally, thought the tears were entirely appropriate, considering the man’s integrity and reputation were in the process of being destroyed. However, his emotional response in not that important to me one way or the other. If he’s a good judge who rules well, I want him confirmed.

I don’t doubt that Bolton is angry and shouldn’t be trusted. I’m just saying that he must not have said much to Fiona Hill, or I’m sure the leaks would have been crafted to be a lot more damning against Trump than what they were.

Are people on here really taking this leaked testimony seriously? I’m not a huge fan of Bolton either, but the stuff that was leaked doesn’t make any sense. As a journalist, I’m immediately struck by how irrelevant the comments are and how they sound completely cherrypicked. For instance, saying that the Ukraine discussions were like “a drug deal” provokes a negative response but doesn’t really give us any information at all. If this is all Bolton said, then he didn’t go down on Trump at all. The same is true of referring to Giulliani as “a hand grenade.” This reference doesn’t even have much of a negative connotation because Giuliani IS a hand grenade (as is Trump). This story was so weak it occurred to me the REPUBLICANS could have leaked it to show that the testimony was silly and completely irrelevant. I figure that Bolton and Trump couldn’t have possibly liked each other, but this particular report doesn’t expose Bolton as an enemy or hater of Trump.

  • Kanye West defends support for Trump, says political decisions based on race is 'mental slavery'

As Rush would way, “don’t doubt me on this”...what is going on with Kanye is significant and powerful. He has been “enlightened” both spiritually and politically and the combination of the two, along with Kanye’s amazing ability to package words with music, is potent. Not only that, but his message is essentially on point. Kanye’s preaching is distinctly Christian. There’s none of the “God loves everybody” mumbo jumbo. He clearly states that people are called to follow Jesus Christ. His political remarks are straight forward, but still presented in a way that does not turn off hostile audiences. Instead, Kanye’s preaching seems to intrigue and unify people. One of the most remarkable videos I’ve seen in recent months is of Kanye working the Saturday Night Live crowd after they stopped the national broadcast because Kanye launched into his pro-Trump “you can’t control me” speech. The nation didn’t see it, but the speech was still remotely broadcasting to the dressing rooms, and Chris Rock took a video of it on his phone. (Sorry I can’t link to it, but the full video is on Youtube). Kanye’s message is spontaneously (and brilliantly) interspersed with music until an audience full of anti-Trumpers is practically singing “Kumbaya” together by the end, despite the fact that Kanye just told them they were being controlled by liberals and they should start thinking for themselves. I’m sure there’s much to pick apart about Kanye and there’s always the concern that he could slide back into “Kanye crazy” again, but, for now, I’m excited about what I’m seeing and hearing.

This is not the correct forum to chastise large groups of people regarding issues of faith. If someone is offended by the words of others, they should send a private email to address it.

For the record, I don’t recall ever being offended by remarks on this board (although many probably went way over the top). Instead of requiring others to speak in a certain way, I try to adjust my attitude to receive them in the best possible way.
