Scientists and former astronauts this weekend called upon the United Nations to protect Earth from cataclysmic asteroid strikes. Delegates at an American Association for the Advancement of Science conference in San Francisco this weekend learned an asteroid strike is an absolute certainty unless the international community rallies to prevent it. "The likelihood of a strike is 100%," said Russell Schweickart, a former astronaut who went into orbit in 1969 as a member of the Apollo 9 crew. "The question is whether it will happen within my lifetime or your lifetime."

Is anyone else but me outraged about the awarding of the Congressional Medal of Honor, 50 years after the action to Jap- Americans? Now I'm not at all sure they didn't earn them, but this smacks of vote buying from a group. The Medal of Honor should never be allowed to be used as a political tool, especially by the 1st Rapist in Chief. Maybe someone will have some insight about this that I have missed.
